I would like to ask, is it possible for someone with no source of income (housewife for e.g.) to apply for a credit card by pledging FD? I know someone who does not fulfill income requirement can do so by pledging FD to get the card but what if that person has no recurrent income but has cash in the bank instead?

Doable for Maybank, Public Bank, HLB for Wise/Mach/etc. Other banks you need to confirm yourself. The amount you pledged - your credit limit. Different banks have different procedures, some even have stamp duty so do walk in and ask.

QUOTE(cklimm @ Aug 5 2015, 02:14 PM) So, they are using different card registers in casino and hotel? Probably. I would not know for sure. But I tried assisting my friend in booking a room in Genting before. It is charged as hotel, not as cash advance.

They do have a special terminal for cash advance in the casino. It's not 'worth' to do cash advance at the casino, as they will charge 1.85% apart from standard bank cash advance charge. QUOTE(richstars8818 @ Aug 5 2015, 06:04 PM) How about FD pledging for foreigners? mean they can have the cc also as long as the pledge is on? For foreigners, you have different regulations to comply with.

Talking about China people. My colleague who is a Chinese is working here and loves watching movies. So she was at GSC MV last weekend and there was HLB booth promoting their HLB GSC card. One of the guys approached her but noticed she's not a Malaysian straight told her she cannot have it. Too bad for the agent that walked off, she was interested actually and is having more than 120k annual income. Facepalm to that fellow. This post has been edited by fruitie: Aug 5 2015, 09:31 PM
