I'm in no way encouraging you to rake up more debt but to answer some part of your question :-

1. Most local bank allows FD placement for a CC. The limit is 1 to 1 and minimum would start from 5k.

Thanks for your info, actually I want to take card for convenince, not to take up additional debt, I will definitely pay all expense monthly.

My high DSR is due to some some of the rental income is not credited to my bank acc, but the loan is under my name.

If you meet the income requirement and your CCRIS is clean, I am sure the banks will approve your application provided you pledge FD. However if you make a straightforward application, 100% unsuccessful!

Yes, rejected by citi bank and standard chart without even asking me whether I got FD or I able to pledge FD.

My ccris is clean, never late payment, and I pay more than 20k for income tax each year, just some of my income is not credit to my acc that's why I have high DSR, and Citibank representative told me now citi bank only take into account one of the rental income, which make some of my income doesn't count.

Citibank / SC requires a 1 year record before they will even consider your application laugh.gif

I got rejected despite meeting the income requirement. Since then, never bothered with those banks anymore.

Side note, show them your EA form la, if you pay tax more than 20k a year, your income should be high enough.

Bank are quite particular nowadays especially for high debt individual like me, last time they saw your EA form with high paid tax then can give out loan easily, but now they want the income match with your bank statement accordingly .

Just got my replacement card due to card faulty. To my surprise, they had changed the card number.

Further more, the new card number is bringing backward.

My faulty card number was 6259 2120 1000 xxxx, but the new card number is 6259 2120 0000 xxxx

If I want to apply for a cc from say Bank A, will it help if I submit copies of FD cert with Bank B and Bank C or is it that since it is different banks, it make no difference? Just trying to understand.

They are checking for credit worthiness or lack of right? And FD in any bank will give an idea.

What about monies in AS1M/ASM?

Thanks!

It doesn't work that way. Even if it is from the same bank, you need to 'pledge' the FD for it.

May I ask, lets say my salary is 4000. I hold 5 cards, each card give me credit limit 12000. total is 60,000. if I would like to apply for 6th cc, do I need to cancel one first? or should I call in to reduce credit limit for other cc before I apply new cards? because if my income is 4000, and I am holding total credit limit of 60,000 now, it is like 15 times of my salary. thanks.

depends on individual banks on how they assess you. having high credit limits definitely lower your chances. i would suggest to cancel the cards which you don't use. or to lower the credit limits of the cards you seldom use. that way, u will have more 'room' for other cc or loans in d future

Your question is not specific. If you are asking whether you can hold more than 5 cards with 4000 income, there is no such rules. For cardholders earning RM36,000 per annum and less, can only hold credit cards from a maximum of two issuers. If your question is regarding the chances of a successful application, then you may refer to the post above. From my experience, I do not need to cancel or reduce any CL.

No issue one la. If you want, you can cancel those unused cards. If not can continue holding them.
I have 8 cards and total CL is already more than 150k, still no issue for other cards applications.

Also, I don't earn a lot.

did you hold 2 cards from same bank? like one conventional and the other is islamic?

good and high credit limit... any other loans such as hire purchase and housing loan, or personal loan?

Nope, all different banks. I will apply for Ikhwan later but I could just convert my existing MBB to Ikhwan. Still considering.
Only car loan for now.
