The CXXB call centre called me .... Offering me RM200 cash rebate upon 3X swipe within 60 days.. I agreed.

After I received the card, I called the CXXB call centre to double confirm the rebate. She confirmed it & activate it. Almost immediately after I put off the phone , she call me back and told me no such promotion and advice me not to swipe the card.

I filed numerous complaint via CXXB official website and phone. And they told me they will handle the case promptly. 2 days back, I received CXXB card statement to pay RM50 GST.
I call CXXB call centre again, They said got listen the past conversation of RM200 the staff mentioned, but the staff haven't reply them yet ... rclxub.gif

It have been more than 3 weeks! What should I do ??

1) should I pay the govt tax by due date ?
2) should I complain to Bank Negara now, I m worry even I win, I still need to pay GST ....
3) I was cheated ! How to detect b4 it happen ?

Thanks notworthy.gif

Definitely. You are basically digging your own graveyard with the astronomical interest rate.

You can file a complaint to BNM but your case isn't that strong unless the RM 200 rebate is written B&W somewhere in the printed or electronic form.

CIMB customer service sucks, issues forever cannot settle. i have dealt with them in the past few weeks, i feel that they are very slow in handling complaints and zero knowledge (not knowing how to reply).

For example
Yesterday i have explained to them why i don't agree on their cash rebate calculation. Today they replied

'We believe that our Card Centre has replied to your inquiry on 28 October 2013 in regards to calculation on Rebate entitlement & attached the calculation on how they derived the rebate.

Since there is no justification to award you with the 5% or 20% rebate on Airlines Online Booking (MCC 3000-3299,4511) combined capped at RM50 per month as alleged, we regret to inform that we are unable to accommodate to your request accordingly. '

then i replied

'Do you understand English? Did you read the T&C thoroughly before replying me? I have clearly stated my basis of justification and even attached the T&C for your reference.

E-commerce 5% rebate does not specifically exclude MCC 5968, why cant i claim 5% rebate on this online transaction?

Am i clear? Do i need to repeat in BM so that you can understand better?'

you can try to bear with them, if you can't, BNM is the way to go. i don't even want to talk to them on the phone since there is no black and white, i prefer to communicate through email so that i will have evidence to protect myself

Good thing is, they acknowledge the RM200 conversation. I advice you to get the name of the staff and get it recorded if possible. After that, file a complain to higher division, and if it is still being ignored, to BNM.

Hi,

I would like to apply for CC (my first time) and I don't know which one is the best.

Purpose :
- Make purchases for items such as kitchen appliences, electronic items/ device where each items are around 3k to make payments to be converted into installemnt around 6 month - 2 years max (is it possible?).
- will make purchase only once / twice a year unless got emergency.

Then I saw this : http://www.citibank.com.my/english/existin...members-epp.htm

1. Is it okay to apply for choice credit card (Citibank) and proceed with the easy pay method? Im interested on it because they mentioned that 0% on installment for selected vendors up to 2 years. If no, suggest me any.

2. What other costs / precautions i need to know when applying CC to avoid being cheated / fraud?

3. As for self-employed, how long will it takes to process the card?

4. If purchases has been made, the installment will have to be paid to the credit card according to the date of purchase isn't?

5. Is it possible to make early settlement?

6. About the GST, do I need to make payment upon application or upon approval or upon the first purchase?

Sorry for the noob question. It's my first time tho.

1) you have to make sure whether the merchant in which you would like to purchase your kitchen appliances and electronic items/devices from, were in the list of participating citibank epp merchants: http://www.citibank.com.my/english/docs/pd...rchant_list.pdf

2) you need to check whether there is any annual fees or how to waive the annual fees.

3) usually 2 weeks to 1 month (some only takes 1 hour or 1 day).

4) once purchase is made, you will need to pay the first installment within 20 days from your statement date.

5) yes, but need to inform the cs first.

6) gst will be charged to your first statement once your card is approved.

citibank ready credit is a debit card (not credit card) on a revolving checking facility. other than the ability of a debit card to swipe it during your retail shopping or using it in online purchase, you are also able to do fund transfers, issue cheques, or withdraw cash through atm without incurring cash withdrawal fee (unlike credit cards).

Thanks for the reply. And yes the merchant is on the list. Do you have any CC product that you would suggest?

i would suggest mbb2cards and ocbc titanium as the best combo cash back cc at the moment. however, ocbc titanium is no longer open for new registration (until further notice), so perhaps you may go for mbb2cards first. since you are more towards installment plans, there are many participating merchants with mbb too.

for more information about the mbb2cards here: https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/2989298

Yes for sure need to use it wisely or else need to bear the high interest amount. By the way, do they look on your CCRIS record?
