ya but make sure you have this as back up. i was in the IPC store on tuesday they told me no promo selling 1999. I insist they are advertising 1899 only the fella go check and confirm. Some more want to pressure me say today only but their brochure / advert says valid till 3rd Jan.

You plan to buy the extended warranty?200+ for 2 years and 400+ for 4 years. The only stumbling block from me committing to this is HP reliability.

RM200 for 2 years is steep. Anyhow, a reseller told me that HP laptops come with 2 years warranty by default

ya i read back earlier a forummer here also claimed 2 years from HP, also purchased via Harvey Norman.

good to know, Harvey Norman IPC show 1 year only. Ask the staff also cannot gv me definite answer. "kalau HP bagi 1, 1 tahun la. Kalau dia bagi 2, u dapat 2". RM1859 also i inform them only they check and confirm. Seriously what's wrong with the sales line nowadays? Some more label as flagship store

I think it is mostly to stamp out AP set practices and to compete against Acer - but do check because no all models come with the two year warranty.

At least the registration process for HP is simpler than Lenovo. Activate, register and thats it.

Yep. Probably new model coming out, getting harder also to get that particular stock now.

Spec won't differ as much, but scuttlebutt says that it probably will come with Windows 8.1 preinstalled.

Hi, i just bough this laptop at authorised HP seller shah alam, the white color, but its seems like a bit lag when launch or surfing internet sometime, why?

Define lag? Meaning not responding after launch? or just slow?

Better if got pictures/videos when you launch and surf.

Lag or other word freeze screen like 3-5sec when open software, and using chrome is like non responsive and freeze also like 3-5sec, lake of ram perhaps?

maybe too much bloatware...juz uninstall some of it might helps.

Yes, there is this sudden freeze symptom that I also experience, both on the black and white unit. I find the sudden freeze thing alleviated somewhat if I were to dual channel the system. Add another piece of 4GB ram and system did became smoother and more responsive - not sure if it is the lack of RAM or the single channel.

Although, another thing to note that the black unit does this strange DVD snapping. Sometimes when you fire up media players such as iTunes or WMP that checks the DVD player, there is this snapping sound as the system test the dvd to see if there is any DVD in the player.

Another strange thing, I don't see it happening on the white units.
