Send my unit it for checking for the fan speed.

Both the trainee and engineer agreed with me that the fan speed is too loud for the low temperature. Temperature trigger is 55C and then the mini hair dryer starts, fan speed is probably close to 100%.

He updated the Bios which I know won't do any good, I asked him whether can be modify the BIOS but he says he can't. He said just send it for checking and maybe they might change the heat sink fan or apply thermal paste or something.

If it still doesn't work, I'll try to kick a big fuss about it because apparently this problem is too minor to warrant a 1 to 1 exchange.

I can only say it is 60 decibels because it's a quantifiable method of measurement.

I think I might be able to get it back tomorrow, hopefully smile.gif

Because of the fan speed which is too loud laugh.gif

I'm alright if the fan turns faster if the temperature is a lot higher, like 75C or higher but for my case 55C already turning so loud sweat.gif

turn faster better ma tongue.gif

btw im raging harvey norman now

-kytz- can you help confirm the warranty period with HP?

I filed in a complaint on HN IPC because they told me 1 year warranty and i purchased 4 yrs extension. When i register my laptop with HP at home it show warranty till 2016 (Means 2 years by HP)

First HN IPC called to aplogize blaming HP, says they don't know. I f them back saying you misinform your buyer i don't give a darn whether HP misinform you or what. Offer me refund 1 year warranty but not in cash, have to buy something from them. I straight f back saying you guys don't know what you sell. Now the fella tell me he called HP its 1 year only. If i go back double check still 2 years they are gonna get serious F from me.

Second thing i haven't complaint and i just realized is that HN allow their customer to purchase warranty extension within 14 days of purchase. They told me on the spot either get it or forget it.

seriously fail salesman doh.gif

That's really bad.

I suggest you to call HP Headquarters directly and get an explanation. Yes, I told you guys that I called HP and they told me it's 2 years but funny thing is that when I sent in my laptop for service, I aksed the trainee and he said it's 1 year and told me that the system has not not been update or something.

Anyways, I suggest you to file a report with MCMC regarding that 1 year warranty once you get confirmation that it's 2 years warranty from HP. And from experience, MCMC is EXTREMELY efficient brows.gif

Actually can use the HP Support Assistant there on the first tab there's a warranty information. It's listed 2 years for me (though on wrong date), it's a company laptop so i can't complain about the warranty until problem happens i guess.

60 decibels is about as loud as someone talking normally to you face to face.
