QUOTE(excelint @ Nov 15 2013, 04:04 PM) i think you would have to find the proper thread to ask for this.if we recommend here, it would be off-topic, sorry. but since you were here in this mbb2cards thread asking for a replacement for ocbc titanium, why not just use mbb2cards for the replacement? QUOTE(excelint @ Nov 15 2013, 04:30 PM) i will always use amex card wherever possible Heck yeah, always use Amex where possible. Why not just use the mbb2 visa/master for those merchants that don't accept amex? You'd still get 1x points. only if the merchant dont accept amex, i will use visa/master. therefore looking for replacement card Getting another card just for non-amex accepting situations might not be so viable if you dont spend alot on that card. The cards annual fee and RM50 gst might make you lose money if you don't meet requirements to waive/offset them. Just my humble opinion. |

Lots of purchases do not accept amex such as insurance payments which can be quite huge. Assuming a cashback rate of 1% (which is the minimum ppl should look for in a card), you only need a yearly spend of RM 5000 to recover the GST. Annual fees should ideally be free too, but at the very least, free for first year, then call to waive.Getting another card just for non-amex accepting situations might not be so viable if you dont spend alot on that card. Also, once you have reached the RM1k per month, returns will be down to 2% from 7%. Some other cards can give better than that. This post has been edited by parsona: Nov 15 2013, 08:44 PM |

i just realised that maybank point conversion is inflation again. It was 10k for RM50, increased to 12.5k for RM50 and now, 13.5k for RM50.
