Useful links. I suggest putting these on the first page for easy references.

If not, difficult to find later when the pages are added.....  thumbup.gif

hi guys, i hav jus changed into a DDR2 platform and get myself a crucial ballistix pc5300 from shawty
however, i cant even overclock the ram to be stable @ 800mhz 4-4-4-12 2T, i even tried 2.2V on tat timing n frequency, but it failed in memtest86
any idea wat could be the problem? issit because of i m using a Pentium D and not a core 2?
other spec can refer to my signature
thanks for any help, newbie in intel platform overclocking sweat.gif

Stable enuf to run Super PI 32M ?
U also can try 4-5-5-12 or CL-5 timing for more stable o'c setup.

never tried super PI, but i thought memtest shud be the best stability test for memory?
4-5-5-12 failed 2, CL5 same....
i wonder the problem could be come from my motherboard, not sure, jus my sixth sense sweat.gif

Now that's weird.
I've used the same ram with you before i've upgraded my ram to Ballistix PC6400 DDR2 800MHz 2GB Kit.
Before this, i've used the Ballistix PC5300 DDR2 667MHz 2GB Kit overclocked to 800MHz @ 4-4-4-12 @ 2T @ 1.95Volts, Memtest86 stable & Orthos stable 12 Hours. smile.gif

I don't think it's your processor.
I think it's more to your motherboard liao. sweat.gif

Thanks to karom for this G.Skill 2GBHZ kit, at the moment tested with tightest timing possible 3.0-3-3-9-1T at Vdimm 2.38v.... Sub-timings "auto". Personally i think sync 1:1 400MHz with 1T is able to outpaced 550MHz 5-5-5-15-2T ohmy.gif
