that geil f2-8000 (blue heatspreader), i remember it's actually ddr2 800 but rated as 1066..
it's a hot budget 4gb oc kit.. priced damn low yet some managed to get it over 1100mhz but heard it's trfc need to be loose, while some board having issues with it due to default trfc too tight. anyway, i'd love to see if ones actually-really-fully 100& utilize 1200mhz ram speed by 1:1 which is 600fsb. didn't see any in here before, or did i missed out? - btw, bump in clocks w/ fsb stays.. the memory speed shouldn't be affected right? there seems to be slight increase on memory speed as above, though fsb stay. and, wat's DIMM Clock Fine Delay? it seems to alter itself.. as previously i got 6T on blanks & 11T on occup. while now 7T on blanks & one 11T one 12T on that 2 sticks. why is that? somemore diff. on both dimms >_< |

Hi all sifus.. Wanna ask:
Crucial Ballistix DDR2 PC2-6400 800MHz 4GB Kit [2X2GB] Timing: 4-4-4-12 Voltage: 1.8Volts ~ 2.2Volts ^^ Is the above a good buy? Wanna upgrade to 4GB. Can it go to at least 1066MHz on CL4 at 4-4-4-12? Also, what's max. vdimm for crucial? This post has been edited by Archaven: Jun 19 2008, 04:25 PM |

1066Mhz cl4 can probably be only done by d9gmh and d9gkx and all 4Gb kits dont carry this variant of micron chips.. so nop it wont.

ok thanks alot a1098113
i was wondering what RAM stress tool anyone use? memtest86+? prime95 blend test? OCCT RAM test? hci memtest? i've seen many can achieve high RAM OC. but did it pass memory stress test? i've tried OCCT stress test RAM for 2 hours and it passed certifying it stable but when i ran HCI memtest, it produce error almost instantaneously. i'm currently testing 1000MHz at 4-4-4-8 with 2.3vdimm and hci memtest failed at 450% coverage. its takes a higher voltage around 2.2-2.3V to run a cl4 timing for your ram.. and if u do want to set it, set it in the bios.

just got my Ballistix Tracers from shawty last nite.
tested them, and found out that they are not as good as it used to be @2.2v i can only push up to 458MHz (916 DDR, 1:1) with 5-4-4-12.cant even boot at that speed with 4-4-4-12 .. while my D9GKX can do it absolutely with no sweat @ 2.0v... is it the ram or my P35-DS3 is holding it out? tried various tweaking but none helps. Refer to my sig for my specs. so the rumors that the 1gb modules chips got changed is true then, and high density modules are useless for OC (cant expect more like before - low vdimm @ 9xx) any comments?
