QUOTE(Are_keem @ Aug 31 2007, 07:52 PM) Elipda? depends on what u mean by easier, personally i tested both, never heard before, or is it Elpida? hehe.. between FP-Y5 and D9GKX, which one can reach DDR1000 easier? both of them can reach 1000mhz just that Hynix FPY5 Rev C needs 5-6-5-5-15 @ 2.0v to do that...rev b does it at 5-5-5-15 @ 2.0v |

QUOTE(RokXIII @ Oct 14 2007, 04:25 PM) Just get myself a pair of D9GMH. So far, I OCed it till 900MHz, 5-5-5-15, 2.0v. But once i tweak the timing to 4-4-4-12, it boot up but hang at the bios screen there(so, i not able to get into window). Anyone know why? Do I need to push up vdimm again? get memset 3.4 beta1btw, what mobo are u using? |

QUOTE(xixo_12 @ Oct 14 2007, 11:31 PM) using memset just help u to save time to do the correction to get fast in superpi, i know, thats why i ask TS also what Mobo hes using, so can use clockgen and oc as well and use memset to loosen timings to check max stability and stuff merbut the point is know the right voltage for it.. |

QUOTE(a1098113 @ Dec 21 2007, 07:08 PM) the current batch of hynix fp-5ys are ridiculous in OC.. dont buy em.. deng, i mana takde support u wan, i always support wan hahah, i was saying 2.28v is low/average voltage considering the speeds you managed to get la Added on December 21, 2007, 7:10 pm yes but remember my chipset is promos. not the micron chipset, ballistix have the best overclocker chips in the mass market now. So having to get it at my result is quite good. apalah abang, never support me also. and what can balisitix do? almost similar mar, so therefore, values rams are not bad also hahaha This post has been edited by bryanyeo87: Dec 23 2007, 02:06 AM |

QUOTE(GRexer @ Dec 24 2007, 11:27 AM) Actually... how do i differentiate between the Rev B and Rev C? I've seen some Kingston with these Hynix FP-Y5 recently and thought of grabbing them. Am actually just looking for something that can do 400MHz @ DDR2-800 with possibly 4.0-4-4-12 timings, although i wouldn't mind if they can do DDR2-1000 with 5.0-5-5-15 timings. if you look at the chip below, which is a patriot 667 value rams DDR2![]() Notice these 4 lines Hynix KOR <=== Brand (duh!) HY5P512812C <=== The last alphabet will tell u what rev it is FP-Y5 711AA <=== chip model and 711AA is batch code, try to match this with your second stick MTFxxxxxxxxxxxxx <=== wafer code, match this last after matching the above 3 for max oc potential |

problem with kingston PCB is that its using a normal 3layer pcb, where as some rare brands use 6 or 8 layer brain power pcb's for value rams (its the same stuff as OCZ XTC gold edition and various other performance kits) and from guinea pig tests from 2 other forumers, it does make a difference in ocing haha

conclusion is that, performance rams like what shawty mentioned, are good if you are willing to spend. but if you dont have much dough to burn, then value rams but handpicked, will be your next best bet

QUOTE(a1098113 @ Dec 26 2007, 10:31 AM) but remember that it will take u months to pick up the gems eh. well bryan here, is a sifu in patience hehe, he can wait, not like me haha. Yes if u have the money, waste no time and get performance ram.. and play. no la, not really just get average ones will do...just go to the shop... and look for 2 matching sticks of value rams, match the batch codes, and revisions |

prime doesnt do a full job for mems though
use memtest for ram testing, stability satisfaction ( or oc failure) guranteed haha alternatively use F@H and slog it out for at least 24 hours... that would show the cpu is pretty much stable lolz |

And the rest goes to F@H smp client. If it folds without errors for at least 12 hours, my system is pretty much stable. (AM2 rig) i use OCCT too but 1 hour test. and then f@H smp for 18 hours haha.
