HI, i would like to ask which to choose (Maybank visa infinite or Maybankard 2 platinum cards) if
1. Annual Income: >180k

2. Card required for:  online shopping (oversea company)

which will give me more benefits in terms of reward points? Thanks!
*
The Maybankard Visa Infinite earns the card holder 5X Treats Points overseas but only 2X for local spending. The Best Travel & Overseas Spend Card from Maybank.
Annual Fee Principal: RM800, FREE for the 1st year
Subsequent years FREE if spend a min of RM50,000 per annum
Supplementary: FREE for life

So this card is great for those who spend substantial sum of money overseas (online or in person) like in the case of rjb123 where he spend RM12K-RM15K per month on overseas transactions.

And this card is also great for Miles where he flies overseas like every other week.

But , the Maybankard VI is not good if you spend your money locally.

1. With overseas 5X Treats Points, for the VI it works out to be RM0.90 spent = 1 Enrich Mile. But for local spending where you only earn 2X TP, it works out to be RM2.25 spent = 1 Enrich Mile. Whereas our Maybankard 2 AMEX which earns us 5X TP and with conversion rate of 7000 TP = 1000 Enrich Miles works out to be RM1.40 spent locally = 1 Enrich Mile.

2. To redeem stuff other that Enrich Miles, the Maybankard VI has no advantage over the Maybankard 2 AMEX because we need the same number of points to redeem for the same item... Selected from Gen-x'Post#163 https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/2989298/+160

1. Annual Income: RM30K to RM36K

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: A Must ( Why not? ).

3. Card required for:Petrol, Entertainment ( Cinema and a little bit of mid-tier restaurants ( Chilis, Dragon-i etc))

4. Existing credit cards if any: None.

5. Looking at CC from: Citibank for all those discounts in restaurants, and the Maybank cards with AMEX as suggested in first page.

6. Others: I think Petrol will be 80% of my CC usage. But for now I pumped RM30 can last for more than one week if I really drive it courteously. This is subjected to change as my working location will change from very near to quite some distance from where I stay now.

Just joined the workforce and I always thought that CC is a kind of luxury until I read this post. Thanks for the heads up.  thumbup.gif
But according to above do I really need a CC?
