wait next year, preve se is coming. but u loose some rebate. newly produce in 2014 normally on april already has,but it can be as earliest as march. but b4 buying any new car next year, make sure cnfirm it 2014 batch, not 2013. if 2013,they must give some rebate. if not, dont accept the car,n report it.

if urgent,it doesnt matter, this year also the same.

Hmm why are u so sure that Preve SE will come next year at April? hmm.gif
any good source to refer to?

Thanks for the feedback. That is a pertinent point on selecting the petrol station based on daily route for convenience.

Is your Preve the low spec model or the high-spec Turbo version? If it's latter, do you experience any knocking sound in the engine with low speed acceleration at low rpms with Petronas fuel?

I have that knocking sound recently, when using Shell, yesterday topped up with Caltex, seems very less apparent. CFE model

I appreciate your feedback. With this information now including myself we have 3 Preve Turbos with this knocking sound.

Previously I used Petronas Primax fuel and the knocking sound is quite apparent when accelerating at low to moderate speeds. Just recently I changed to Caltex and the knocking sound has reduced quite a bit. Not entirely diminished, as I can still hear some knocking but certainly not as loud as before with Petronas Primax.

Hopefully with this 2nd refill of Caltex fuel this weekend, the knocking sound will reduce even further or perhaps diminish completely. Wishful thinking. Surprisingly the Turbo engine is quite sensitive to the type of fuel that is used.

Since you are getting the knocking sound with Shell, guess that is out. I will try Caltex for 3-4 times before deciding whether to swap to BHP. If the knocking sound is completely gone with Caltex, it appears that I will have to stick with it for good.

i have not knocking issues with Shell 95...
Maybe it could be the ECU self learning and miscalculated?

Not sure, though one thing is for sure is that I'll highlight this issue to Proton once my car is due for the 10,000km service. Will ask them to rectify it as well, if it is possible.

The knocking started after the 1st service at mileage 1,000km. Now my vehicle is approaching 5,000km and the knocking is still there albeit much reduced now. Don't know if it's due to the type of petrol (Caltex) or something else.

It is good that your vehicle does not exhibit knocking.

If you have driven a vehicle with manual transmission before, the knocking is sound is similar to what you'll be getting if you use 4th gear to accelerate the car when you are supposed to use 2nd gear.

Hey guys. What is the red blinking light at the front of the car (by the windshield) ? Is it supposed to be blinking nonstop even when engine is already turned off?

New owner of Preve CFE here.
