goto settings-->Application Manager, swipe to the ALL tab. then look for Samsung keyboard, click it and clear data and cache.

then got back to the keyboard settings and try the settings again. no guarantee it will work tho, but please report back.

Mine seems to be okay for now. I can even write cursive continuous words which are misaligned and it can still recognize the handwriting.

on another note (), has anyone here tried rooting yet?

if so, which method did you use? flash chenglu's cwm then flash supersu.zip or flash the pre-rooted firmware?

any troubles so far?

how many email account u set to sync? my SOT cant reach 5 hours also...but it can serve me whole working days la...reach home still left 20-30 % depends for the first 2 days i got, last 2 days was weekend so i charge only on saturday and wifi at home so Sunday didnt charge the phone.

Now I get you. Strange, it works before I enable Direct input. Since you mentioned it and I tried it now it doesn't work. Something must be wrong. I didn't notice it as all this while I'm using Direct input which works much more better for me. Is this a bug?

This is very likely a software issue and probably Samsung SC can't even solve it.

Did your issue happen since Day 1 of owning the phone?

Battery life is very depending on
1) How many background sync account you have for your phone?
2) How frequent is your sync?
3) What apps you are running during the screen on period? Web browsing or gaming or others as each activity will affects the SOT
4) How good is your network signal
5) You are connected to WiFi or data all the time as WiFi will save more power.

For me I also didn't get SOT for 5 hours or more. Most of the time is 4 hours. I'm connected to data almost 90% of the time, and I have background sync for email, gmail, fb, friendcaster, weather, samsung account, and other SNS. And most of the time I'm using the phone for Whatsapp and web browsing and viber call. So for me I the Note 3 is holding up to my expectation and usage quite well.

Nope. Didnt start on first day but only today. Yesterday it was working fine. I wonder who else got problem. I think mine started after enabling the predictive input as well

This is bizarre. Mine was ok this morning. But now got the same problem like yours.

Edited: Oh great, it just hung. The system prompted keyboard error and the phone hangs. Bloody shit.

A small issue I noticed.

Sometimes, my phone doesn't notify me of new Whatsapp messages until I unlocked the screen. The time also only jumps after I've turned the screen on.

You mean after you unlock your phone then only the Whatsapp message coming in?

Only happens sometimes. Not all the time.

I had this issue when I first got my Note III and installed WhatsApp.

After I did a factory reset few days ago, and then reinstalled WhasApp, everything seems to be okay. All WhatsApp notifications now work properly when phone is on standby (locked).
