I already hop on the Windows 10 wagon.
First thing I noticed is the Tablet mode is WAY WAY ABOVE Windows 8.1 Start Tiles menu
Second thing, the battery life is much longer than Windows 8.1. Maybe due to different strategies on power management mode. My tablet can last > 3 days on single charge when not using it. Previously it won't last longer than 2 days in standby mode.
Other than that, the MS Edge browser is way more friendly.
I already restore to W8.1
W10 really hard to get used to. I hate the keyboard wont pop up now and have to manually bring it up. The desktop now very messy, and I prefer to swipe up from Metro to access all my programs. I also hate how the settings were now compared to back then. When I finished upgrading, the wireless adapter wont work and it also wont allow me to change to other drivers. Took a few restart to fix it.
I have to say with each iteration, its getting more and more frustrating. I dont even know how to have two app side by side like W8.1. Task manager is also annoying. Previously if I accidentally swipe, I just have to swipe a few times until it goes back to the app. Now I have to see which app and select it. I think maybe I can use the task manager button to return (never try).
I dont think its worth the time unless you want DX12.
As for battery life, I think mine last quite long without using. I think more than 2 days if I just leave it like that. Perhaps because I have nothing running in the background.
