I ve tried it, very hard to setup with touch, especially extending to secondary display with just tiuch input.

Better use DLNA, no cable needed
*
It was not that bad. Quite easy to extend since I just use it to view video. Just cant fast forward unless I connect my bluetooth mouse/kb.

hi guys, just wanna to know will 1G rams sufficient for normal surfing and minor office work.

planning to buy the coming acer 8W but new to window 8.1

hope to hear from you all.

tks.

Normal surfing as in 5 tabs of browsing heavy contents website. If u browse tumblr page with full/lots of GIFs in it, then u start to realise 1GB RAM is insufficient...

The same goes for office spreadsheet/Excel. Exceeding 1000 rows of one sheet in Excel will start to bog down the system.

Microsoft is in panic mode now because there are thousands of tablets running under Android platform. They have to ensure Windows platform stays in the mainstream or else no one will buy Bill Gates shares in the New York stock exchange...

I already hop on the Windows 10 wagon.

First thing I noticed is the Tablet mode is WAY WAY ABOVE Windows 8.1 Start Tiles menu
Second thing, the battery life is much longer than Windows 8.1. Maybe due to different strategies on power management mode. My tablet can last > 3 days on single charge when not using it. Previously it won't last longer than 2 days in standby mode.

Other than that, the MS Edge browser is way more friendly.

I already restore to W8.1

W10 really hard to get used to. I hate the keyboard wont pop up now and have to manually bring it up. The desktop now very messy, and I prefer to swipe up from Metro to access all my programs. I also hate how the settings were now compared to back then. When I finished upgrading, the wireless adapter wont work and it also wont allow me to change to other drivers. Took a few restart to fix it.

I have to say with each iteration, its getting more and more frustrating. I dont even know how to have two app side by side like W8.1. Task manager is also annoying. Previously if I accidentally swipe, I just have to swipe a few times until it goes back to the app. Now I have to see which app and select it. I think maybe I can use the task manager button to return (never try).

I dont think its worth the time unless you want DX12.

As for battery life, I think mine last quite long without using. I think more than 2 days if I just leave it like that. Perhaps because I have nothing running in the background.

I am surprised that you are rolling back to Windows 8.1
In Windows 10, did you switch to tablet mode?

In portrait mode, both Windows does not allow you to put app side by side. Allows when you are in landscape mode.

For app switching, there is a Task View button that will show all running windows (app) on screen. From there you can mix and match into split view as well.

Goto soyacincau and download the installer.

The waiting list is really long if you wait for the queue

Windows 10 more like for those who are still stuck with Win7. For the rest that have moved on to Win8, Win10 is like a step back. The whole purpose of a pc or tablet is to get it to do what you want....not mess with the OS setting, driver issue & crashing. At the end of the day, will you rely on this equipment with Win10 or older Windows to do important work? If you just use it play play then ok. But you sure go back to previous versions (whatever it was) that is the most stable & trusted. If MS still can't get Win10 in order by year one, I'll be happy to give up the free lifetime update offer.

I did a clean install with Win10 pro.

Tried Win10 home and it activated automatically.

Recovered lots of free space (perhaps Acer bloatware).

With office 2013. adobe cs6, games... still have 30gb free

Actually I'm planning to install other version of windows on it but it just can't detect my USB flash drive. I had tried using different tools such as diskpart, rufus, etc but no luck.
