hey guys, ive got a question, planning to switch from maxis to unifi, currently using maxis 10mb and been facing constant ping issues like crazy. so going to switch to vip5.

my question is that would be possible, or advisable to change the modem and router.? would it make any significance improvements.?

That should be VIP5.
I am using the same package.
You should not be paying any money.
If you have any issues on this, call TMnet helpdesk or you visit TM point office.

My case is I went to register at the TM point at Jalan Raja Chulan.
If I have any issues, I will call them for assistance.

2-3 hours lah. depends on where is the fiber cable outside yr house located.

the technician/contractor will call u first before reach yr house.

mine was somewhere behind around 3 house away. So the tech arrange for the wiring then drill hole at my kitchen wall.

after that u can use internet right away.

Always going to stick with tm, so far most consistent speeds. Just wish they had faster packages.

May I know my package is 5 VIP and I should get 400-500KB/s.
But I download other files from bitshare/bayfile/netload/MEGA and my speed is around 250-350 KB/s.

I use speedtest to measure my download speed is 4.7MB. I called them and they say probably due to my network adapter? Is it true?

For VIP5 plan if you do torrent you should get roughly 400-700kb speed while for normal download from various websites, it depends on the websites server location and such. 250-350kb is pretty good already

Waa really? I thought we suppose to get 400-500 from direct download...
So it's not due to my network adaptor eh

Anyone here else got the call from TM, that offer you to pay more RM20 to upgrade VIP 5 to 10. Which mean 149 + 20 = 169. My friend and I subscribed to Unifi at the same time, but he get the calls, unfortunately I did not :\
