i see usually the altec lansing speakers have volume control problem. my VS 2121 has this problem that causes my right satellite to have louder volume than the left 1.

Hi Hi. I never bought a Altec Lansing before and I read tons of review for ATP3 and they say its one of the best speaker around for budgeted speaker.

But since read the post here, it sound not too good at all. Should I get it or what other model that u recommend under RM200.00. Thanks alot. ATP3 now just cost RM164 in Lowyat Plaza.

actually it really depend on each individuals... you should go lowyat and test it yourself...

how bout CS21? its not bad also..

CS21 not bad la... cause im using 1 also... clarity not bad... even frens who came to my place notice... but dunno why its only selling in certain countries...

Old ATP3 Satelite

difference :
1. Old satelite is taller, roughly 1 inches.
2. Old satelite has thicker plastic
3. Old satelite doesn't tilt on the bottom. they just jack it up with sponge, but not the plastic itself to have angel the mid range.
4. Old ATP3 is very heavy. Old ATP3 Woofer alone is heavier than whole set of New ATP3 including box.
5. Old ATP3 woofer is 18W all right. New ATP3 has lower watt on the woofer, according to what i search, it's using 14-15W But new ATP3 still include the old ATP3 user manual, which written 18W RMS of the woofer.
6. Old ATP3 satelite and woofer driver have dot pattern on it. while new ATP3 is smooth driver, which is softer.
7. Old ATP3 sounds much better. bass is really deep and powerful. new ATP3 woofer can shake seriously when you blass it slightly louder.


From what i see, even though the model name is the same, but i think the design is totaly different. and it is higher possibilities that the new ATP3 is produced by different factory owned by Altec.
from what i listen, older ATP3 can "almost" fight the sound quality of MX5021. and it definately on par with CS21, or 601.

Okay since you all talking about ATP3, i'm going to tell the owners something really cool.
Do you all notice that when you all listening on someone singing, the singer sounded like he/she is having a running nose?
Try on some high vocal tracks, you all will notice it.

no the old ATP 3 cannot fight the MX5021 at all. cause i tried it

my VS4121 the volume control gone nuts.. its volume is set to maximum and i cant control the volume anymore( controller problem i think) and when i move the wire got weird weird sound come out and sometimes no bass. anywhere can fix speaker~?

Please describe the sound of singing while having a 'runny nose'? I never heard it coz normally singer will not perform if he/she got a runny nose....

Try singing and cover your nose at the same time.. I suppose it's that kind of sound..

MX5021 is the best....trust me....
