Anyone know where I can send or How do I repair my subwoofer. Currently using mx5021.But i noticed something wrong with the subwoofer.the sound is like pecah only if I put the volume a bit high or the bass is high.Bunyi pecah.anyone can help?thanks

the altec cut cost, common problem, it can be solved byreplacing a few caps demonstrated at jimmyauw. com
there is a guy here called 'pcworks' can help you fixit if you are lousy at the soldering iron
but the cost is another story =)

hi guys new here. im an altec fan..but pretty dissapointed with its RELIABILITY.

my first was the altec 2421... loved it so much..but after 4-5 months of use... suddenyly no power.cant on..idk y..

so i went to claim waranty * bought at lowyat*

the person said 3 weeks to repair..i came by more then 2-3 times...after 2 months + baru siap..*imagine suffer without speaker *

but its not they repair.but they gave new speaker...altec 2521... didnt like the sound as 2421..but meh .. nice anyway.

so after a couple of months...5-6... same probelem


no power...

can anyone tell me :

1. why?

2. can i claim waranty somemore?

3. feel altec not reliable n want to buy new speaker...but my budget not so high now..rm150 onli.sigh... any recomends? prefer altec but the power prob is really getting to me

4. wish can find back the 2421..

seriously...which shop you bought from?

u know at lowyat plaza. theres one shop where sells alot of pc speakers..kinda like a pc mini mart... name of company sri computers sdn bhd...

mainly the reason why your altec speaker died because they started a new method of building speakers...value for money (idea from the new company Plantronics)
so they use cheap parts to make it as cheap as possible for customers to buy
They are more concern on how cheap a speaker can get and the design... not the sound quality anymore

Altec Lansing used to be very good... I'd say can compare with high end speakers...
but now...

sigh..so i gez im not alone..what brand shud i go for with budget like me

Edifier is currently the best brand available in Malaysia as they don't use low quality parts and warranty is easily claimed

rm150..so low.. im low on money..but urgent need speaker.goin too lowyat tomorow..hows the sound?bass is important for me...

you should be able to get Edifier E3100
one of the cheapest Edifier speaker lines that sells like hot cakes

edifier one thing i dun like is the design and their spekers not as gud as AL, but AL now.....laubehnized oledi
haha too bad our garage sales section isn't as gud as it used to be, or else that guy can us teh tarik with the leftover money after shopping in garage sales
haih.... now the unscrupulous vendors are flooding the threats....vendors selling 'new' items should be placed in another thread

lol... that's something sad bout edifier design...(what to do... they wanna maintain good sound quality) but now edifier is better than the new altec lansing
