No SJ4000 listed...? Or what's its successor...? SJ5000...?

I know this sounds stupid, but it terms of price range, does the more expensive ones means better camera quality, or just more features...?

SJ4000 and SJ5000 is action cam not dash cam ler...

Branded dash cam could mean better quality sometimes... Features-wise depends on model...

$40+ for the G1W-C on GearBest.. not bad

My car only has one power outlet, how do I charge my phone and use the dashcam at the same time?

The wires that comes with the camera seems so long, how to hide it?

Which is better:

G1WH / G1WC or 0803 / 0805?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8LWOq62cY6U

The G1WH/C seems to be getting lots of good reviews in youtube and here. My only hesitation with it is that it seems a bit big. Would prefer a smaller camera so that it is not obvious there is a camera when viewed from the outside. I plan to install and forget, not mount and dismount it everytime I get in the car, which would be very troublesome.

Anyone has used the 0803 or the newer version 0805/806? Is it good?

You tried rinsing the suction cup with hot water then dry and stick to the windscreen? Heard apply a thin layer of petroleum jelly to the suction cup then stick to windscreen will work also...

Or can try this rear view mirror mount for G1W

My favourite is GT680W & GS90C for below rm400... You can get the Kehan C905 if you win the ebay auction for below rm400 if lucky...

thanks bro...didnt know such thing exits
anyway, while browsing ebay looking for the mounts, i bought a new dashcam instead B40/A118 laugh.gif and the mount for G1W as backup
A118 review seems okay and the design is way better than G1W...come with accs to hide wires also

I like the video quality of the G1W-C, hate the fact that it loses charge too soon.

Whenever I got a review car, my car stays idle for 3-4 days, and all my settings gone doh.gif
*
So if I want to install a dash cam on a car that is seldom used e.g. used every 3-4 days, then better get one with battery instead of capacitor? Unless I want to keep doing the settings everytime using the car.

QUOTE(blurjoey @ May 10 2015, 03:37 PM)
Thanks. Lots of user reviews there, but they are mostly from cooler climates. Wanted to know how the dash cam fares in our hot and humid weather.

Actually I am starting to lean towards the A118 myself. It is small, it will not be obvious that you have a camera sticking on your windscreen, and I think this is the dashcam that techmoan (the dash cam reviewer in youtube) is using in his car as well. Can the mount for the G1W be used on the A118?

Can i ask about your "battery kembang", how long have u had the K6000 (before the battery wrapped) and do u park your car under hot sun at work or at home? Just want to have an idea what to expect, if i decide to go for a battery dash cam.

That is not bad actually, especially considering the car is parked under hot sun 99% of the time. If not parked under hot sun everyday, it can probably last longer than that. Personally, I dont expect a below RM300 no-brand made-in-china dash cam to last more than 2 years anyway. If it does, then it is a bonus. Anyway, based on your input, i think i will get the battery version. It would be more practical for me.

By the way, how did you know your battery has kembang? Has the dash cam stopped functioning, and you open the casing?

Yes. Get the battery version. Capacitor version also have a slight delay turning on compared to battery version.

Anyway read in the dashcamtalk forum, some actually mod their dashcam to bigger battery after the battery kong or to bigger super capacitors... Yup that forum most users from Europe and US...
