Hi guys, anyone got any suggestions for a dashcam that can tahan our hot sun and absorb strong vibrations ? I drive an old Saga, it doesn't have any solar tint (very hot inside during the afternoon) and the ride comfort is quite poor (vibrates a lot)... I guess you could say it's a sauna + Ogawa chair. 

Also, if you plug the power cable to the cigarette lighter, won't it drain the car battery if left overnight ? 

My budget is under RM250. I don't think I can afford a GoPro at this point, too expensive. I have read through this thread and many users and sifus recommend the G1WH. I think the video quality is quite good for the money. But some said it is not so reliable.

Any G1WH owners here who can share their experience driving in the hot sun and bumpy roads ?

The G1W is within your budget but the G1WH is using battery so it's not that good in the hot sun. Best to go with the G1WC as it's using capacitor...

G1W series can be bought for below rm200... The G1WH have 140 degrees viewing angle vs the G1W & G1WC's 120 degrees viewing angle... The G1WH is full black so very stealth looking...

Another to look at is A118 which also have a capacitor version.

But do know that capacitor version have some lag time when booting up and if too long never use, all settings is gone.

If your cigarette port is not a direct power from the car battery then no need to worry as it only have power once you start the engine...

Thank you blurjoey for your kind advice. I think I will get the G1WH after much consideration. Is it possible to buy from any physical outlet like Lowyat Plaza or ALL IT ? I have some bad experience with online shopping 

I personally think that any capacitor-based dashcam will not be suitable for me because I do not drive daily, just back and fro to uni (70km). As for the heating issue, I think I will manually attach and detach the G1WH and store in the glovebox, At least the battery won't kembang after a while. Also, my car is SUPER easy to jack, I worry that some people at my uni may try to curi the G1WH if I leave it on the windshield
