Premium dashcam with real parking mode and accurate ADAS laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

I don't think any seller will provide installations. Best if can DIY as very easy or look for your favorite accessories shop for help.

What do u mean real parking mode? Others are not real even when they stated their features ? 😅
*
True parking mode. Have motion/crash detection with pre-buffering. Most China dashcam is without pre-buffering and can miss what happened a few seconds before the triggers.

The only China dashcam that at the moment is getting there to Korean true parking mode is Viofo.

what is value for money dash cam with parking mode? not sure should i upgrade again haha..
*
Low range is 1k+ to 3k...

QUOTE(adri4n @ Jan 20 2019, 04:36 PM)
Guys.. anyone has recommendation on the microsd for

1. Thinkware f800 pro
2. Blackvue dr750s

Understand that the units r pretty picky in terms of what card they support
*
DR750S I've tried Samsung Evo Plus and no issues. Netac Pro also.

For F800 Pro, best to use their own Thinkware cards. Got some say Transcend 400X works. FYI their cards are OEM by Lexar, I think the Lexar Pro 1800X is a match for the Thinkware cards.

want to look for dual channels dashcam with true parking mode and better night view (starvis?). I came across with the brand Halocam. They have C1 and C1 plus.

Then i also notice it was called 车叮咚 in china taobao. What I have learned is that they dont need hardwiring kit, they use OBD port.

Appreciate if any feedback on it.
-quality?
-is using OBD a new trend? or its common in dashcam? OBD can provide power when engine is off.
-is this battery-based or capacitor?

Thanks.
*
It's one of those dashcams that manufacturer that can buy the mold to manufacture. Like the G1W, A118, etc.

Shares the same mold as the Shadow2 Plus
https://jwtechreviews.com/2017/06/16/shadow...us-shadow2plus/

Halocam has improved their model.

Powering via OBD is not something new. Some dashcams have been powered via OBD for some time now. Even Blackvue dashcams have an OBD power option. Yes the OBD can power the dashcam when the engine is off.

Found in Amazon saying it's using lithium-ion battery
https://www.amazon.com/ask/questions/asin/B...isAnswered=true

Usually, they won't tell you when it's using a lithium-ion battery as most people want to avoid the issues with lithium-ion battery dashcams. The opposite for supercapacitor though.

It's not a true parking mode as no China dashcam is able to do true parking mode like Korean dashcam yet. Getting very close to true parking mode is Viofo A129 Duo.

Real 4K is 3840 x 2160.

2880 x 2160 @ 24fps is not a real 4K cam. Most are resized or interpolated.

OV4869 is not a real 4K sensor. Always check what chipsets and sensor used. And real 4K dashcams won't cost below rm500.

Read more here:
https://actioncamguides.com/real-or-fake-4k...o-you-identify/

The only dashcams that is true 4K is Blackvue DR900S and the coming soon Thinkware F900 or Q900.

Sicurez selling the Viofo A129 Duo for rm1k with 64GB Samsung Evo Plus, hardwire kit and installation.

DDPai X2Pro rear cam is 720p only and using lithium-ion battery.

low range 1k+ for parking mode is what brand? ddpai and viofo?
Dual cam mode? (front rear)
Viofo with those motion meaning is parking mode? i see cost only around 5xx in shopee
*
Low range can opt for DDPai or Viofo A129 but not true parking mode.

RM500? A119? Only A129 have parking mode.

Lowest true parking mode you can find is Thinkware F200 which I think it's about rm1.3k+-. iRoad also can but not sure if their quality is fixed or not as heard lots of warranty claims due to faulty units.

Can always check Viofo website for latest firmwares
https://support.viofo.com/support/solutions...ers/19000140970

Another is dashcamtalk forum for beta or modified firmwares for Viofo.

Viofo A129 Duo doesn't have pre-buffering... Yet... But they are getting close...

The best true parking mode dashcams are from Korea like Blackvue, Thinkware, etc...

Hi dashcam Sifus,

I am currently looking for DVR and right now I checking at iRoad x9. One of the shop is quoting RM1385.

Is there any DVR similar size and function like x9 with cheaper price?
*
There is nothing similar function to a Korean dashcam (iRoad) with a cheaper price...

Anyway, iRoad have high warranty claim rate, so I think you better think think 1st...

Still not so understand.. Pre buffering meaning it record 10 sec after triggered motion /vibration right?
Viofo motion work how? It only take pic when triggered motion without recording or 10sec?
So F200 better than iroad? Seems both price similar rite?

Motion Detection Setting
Motion detection is the most popular parked recording mode. The camera is continuously recording to its memory so nothing is lost but only saves that video to the memory card when motion is detected.

Sensitivity Adjustment
Ideally, you want a camera that can control the detection sensitivity so you can fine tune it to a setting where it captures people and cars but not smaller objects like birds.

Buffered Recording
In advanced models, the 5-10 seconds prior to the motion being triggered are also saved to the memory card. This is useful if the motion is detected late or there are conversations happening off screen. A buffered recording is not required but it’s a nice feature to have.

Timelapse Mode
Timelapse records a video frame every 1/10/X number of seconds. This avoids any failures which can happen with motion detection, especially under low light. The downside is that you may miss details like license plates depending on speed. As well no audio is captured which could identify people who may have damaged your vehicle.

G-sensor Trigger
In most dash cameras the G-Sensor is always running. When an impact is detected most cameras will switch back to normal recording.

Pre-buffering = buffered recording. So you can see what happening 5-10 seconds before the incident.

iRoad I know have QC issues as there are lots of warranty claims due to something going faulty.

I received the xiaoyi dashcam as my christmas present.

1920x1080p @ 30fps
1920x1080p @ 60fps
2304x1296p @ 30fps

Which setting should I actually go for?
I tried 2304x1296p @ 30fps but couldn't really see the number plate clearly.
*
Got sample? Usually while moving it's hard to read no matter what resolution. Night time is harder.

It will record, say 5 or 10 seconds before impact, etc.
For Viofo, it will only start recording during impact, so you have no idea how the accident happens.
That’s why Korean DVR true parking mode is superior to Chinese DVR.

iRoad X9 funtions are superior than F200, as F200 is the cheaper range of Thinkware. The similarly specced Thinkware to X9 is F800 Pro, but it costs about 2k while X9 is less than 1.5k.
But the build qualiy of iRoad is still below Thinkware and Blackvue
*
Actually, the F800 Pro is a higher range and has more functions than the iRoad X9.

The F200 is Thinkware's low-range to cater to the budget conscious.

If you want to compare the iRoad X9 to Thinkware then I would say it's a little bit beneath the X550 (Thinkware's mid-range) as the X550 has an extra feature, Smart Camera Alert which works in Malaysia since last year October/November.

Even the iRoad TX9 with its 3K QHD resolution, I would put it at the same level as the F770 more.

But I've tested the TX9's ADAS and it's almost as accurate as Thinkware's. I didn't like the proprietary file format, JDR, that iRoad uses. Only can watch the files using their own player or app. And some other stuffs.

Anyway, iRoad in Korea is considered to be a "budget" dashcam in the Korean market.

Thanks for the correction.
One thing that keep me away from iRoad is the proprietary file format, but the lower price range over Thinkware and Blackvue is quite a plus point.
Quite a numbers of Mazda CX-5 owners installed X9 as it is priced in between China DVR (Viofo, Mini 0906, etc) and Korean DVR (Thinkware, Blackvue) but still get the superior Korean DVR true parking mode.
*
I know the USB wifi burns out easily for X9. Cause a friend who used to sells iRoad have given up as too many came back spoilt.

iRoad actually copies Thinkware a lot. Even using the same head for the power on the dashcam.

F200 is good dual dashcams with true parking mode. But the rear cam is 720p only. You'll need to get the GPS module if you want to use the Smart Camera Alert.
