Wahh great news!. I didnt expect they will expand the capabilities of the a129 like this.

Its a great option to have & I think its well worth it buying the a129.

Thanks for the heads up!
*
Great option for Grab drivers.

blurjoey I read from your previous posts that you used Samsung Evo Plus microsd cards for your reviews and normal usage. May I know if it works fine with the Xiaomi 70mai Pro dashcam? I'm thinking of getting the dashcam and compatible memory card for it soon.

In terms of storage capacity, how many days worth of recording can a 32GB card hold, assuming recording at best video quality? or should I get 64GB instead?
*
Should not be a problem with the 70mai Pro.

32GB can record roughly about 3+- hours of video. 64GB is about 6+- hours.

Samsung Evo Plus the write speed is faster for 64GB and 128GB. 32GB is slower.

Do you happen to have handled a 70mai Pro dashcam too? Just wondering how does the Mijia 1S compare with 70mai Pro?  hmm.gif
*
Both dashcams are made by 70mai.

If compare the specs & features, the 70mai Pro seems better than the 1S.

Pros of 70mai Pro: H.265 encoding due to HiSilicon chip. GPS. ADAS. 1944p & 1440p resolution. Defog function.

Pros of Mijia 1S: IMX307 have better SNR1 value than 70mai Pro IMX335. Voice control.

Ok, thanks for the pointers, will start looking for those that supports "Parking Mode".
*
Korean dashcam like Thinkware & Blackvue has the best parking mode function at the moment. China dashcam is almost there with their parking mode.

QUOTE(mushigen @ Dec 12 2018, 10:31 PM)
bluejoey, I'm looking to mount a cylindrical dashcam on my rear windscreen but pointing towards the front to capture a "bird eye's view" in case of accident.

I already have one B1W to capture the rear of the car. So, there will be two cylindrical cameras stuck on my rear windscreen.

Between B1W and 70Mai, which one would you recommend, and which one performs better in the dark?

I used to mount the Yi cam on the rws pointing to the front and it managed to capture the scene outside of the car quite well (through the car windows and fws) due to its brighter lens (or whatever that causes it to perform better in the dark).
My priority is the scene outside of the car.

Thank you.
*
Both are using Sony IMX323, so the night video is good. But recording inside the cabin at night will be hard as there isn't much light inside. 70mai night video looks darker in my videos. Not sure if new firmwares have any improvement to the video quality.

But the viewing angle, 70mai 130° vs B1W 150°. This another thing you'll need to consider.

Since you have a B1W, rotate it and to record inside and see how the video quality.

Anyone with any experience of first scene? Looking for a car dashcam with reverse camera together. Budget around 4-500.
Was recommended by accessories shop to get this.
*
I prefer to get dashcam only. Not those multifunction kinds. Anyway, China brands have a lot of these dashcams with reverse camera. Can search in Aliexpress for a lower price.

i am looking for front and rear dashcam second car, planning take either Viofo A129  or Thinkware F200, which one is better? Need parking mode

F200 rear camera only 720 and price much higher compare to Viofo, i am using F770 so much confident on Thinkware, not sure Viofo quality & durability
*
Best to go with Korean dashcam as their parking mode technology is way ahead. Viofo's parking mode is kinda in its infancy stage but improving fast.

QUOTE(widget @ Dec 18 2018, 04:30 PM)
Viofo A129 2-Ch has been out of stock at Sicurez for about a month already.
I'm also considering between these 2 to replace my Mini 0906
*
Heard stock arriving next Friday in Sicurez

QUOTE(devil98 @ Dec 18 2018, 04:45 PM)
not necessary buy from Sicurez, lazada got stock 799.
But hardwire kit need buy separately, spec/value wise i think Viofo A129 win, but durability compare to F200 not sure then
*
Sicurez is authorized distributor for Viofo. The advantage is the 1 year 1-on-1 exchange warranty. Lazada sellers some don't have any warranty or maybe 6 months only. Only the price is lower a bit than Sicurez.

Viofo Official store in Aliexpress only rm671+ for A129 Duo with GPS

anyone use this brand before? there's a lot of positive review https://www.lazada.com.my/shop-car-cameras/...=wangpu&sc=KVUG
*
Looks like Junsun and other China manufacturers.

Anyway China manufacturer can buy the common mold and make the same dashcam and put it under their brand. Very normal in China.

Guys, can you share your preferred installer that did the proper, neat/hidden hard-wiring of dashcam? Thanks
*
I DIY-ed following Youtube videos.

If you want an installer with good workmanship that would be EA Auto as they are the official installer/seller for Thinkware & Viofo dashcams.

Another is Sicurez as they are the distributor and seller for Thinkware and Viofo.

Others not sure. Maybe can try car accessories shop?

Thanks for the info. Kind of cautious to DIY particularly to thread the power cable from the rear of the van to the front for 2-channel setup
*
Van might need to extend the cable for the rear cam is not long enough.

Sorry, I have been away from this thread for some time. Just want to get update from fellow viofo 129 front/rear users. Is the cabling kit being sold already?

I read that can get locally which is only slightly more expensive instead of getting from Aliexpress. Also should I DIY (i am noob) or just pay Sicurez to install? They seems to charge RM150 for front/rear installation.

So overall will end up paying about 1k for front/read, wire kit and installation. I am not getting GPS function.
*
Sedan is easier to install dual dashcams than SUV types.

I DIY installed mine by trial and error. Took an hour+ to install.

The fuse part you'll need a fuse tester to check if the fuse will have power when engine is off and on.

What dashcam are you using? Could be due to low-quality cigarette lighter plug.

For thinkware, can it record using my reverse cam? So I just but front camera only.

Nope as most premium dashcam is proprietary using own cams. No 3rd party.
