anyone here using the samsung evo plus sd card? not if it is the card or my mijia recorder, but some time it cannot detect the card and some video are cut half way. But it resume back to normal if I just switch off and on.
*
I'm using Evo Plus most of the time in my dashcams reviews.

Can you test the Evo Plus with h2testw? Maybe reset the mijia to default settings and setup again?

Just tested h2testw, no issue found. Current reset it back to factory default. Lets see whether it happen again.
*
Another thing to try is manual reflash the fw and see. But I do hope no issues after factory reset.

thanks for the review ...

you rate 70mai pro as entry level or mid level ?
compare B1w....a119 ....which model better ?

thanks ...
*
I think it's around mid level... The video is good... I didn't have the GPS to test the ADAS though.

In your own personal opinion, how does this compare against your own f800?

70mai capacitor battery or normal lithium ion?

How to compare a rm300 dashcam with a rm2000 dashcam? sweat.gif sweat.gif sweat.gif

Like comparing a Honda City with a Ferrari leh...

Because i see the video quality quite good for my untrained eye. If considering 100% being the f800 quality, how would the 70mai fare in your opinion?
*
The video quality on the 70mai Pro is good.

But if comparing all the features, then it's F800 Pro.

A technical question, I have seen some pics (on Aliexpress or Taobao I am not sure now) THAT there are people hard wire the USB car charger pin by shouldering + wire and - wire to our car's interior dome light power source.  THEN plug in a short USB cable from dome light USB port to the dash cam.

This way there are 2 advantages :
1. free up your 12V socket at central console for other stuff
2. some car has the dome light dimming function after you lock the car for 10-15sec, the dashcam will also follow that since the power source is tapped from there.  Better still if a dash cam has a tiny battery in side, it will extend it for another 15 or so sec of recording.

Anyone knows how to do ?  Of is there anywhere I can read up the detail wiring work ?
*
Can be done but it's not a good/complete solution.

The light dimming function only works with the dome light. You'll need to tap your dashcam into the dome light for the dimming effect. But the dome light is only turn on when you open the door or manually turn on the light. Then your dashcam will only power on during the same time. But not all dome light works the same.

Also, the dome light is direct power from the car battery. If you tap that then your dashcam will be on 24/7, I foresee a car battery drain and dashcam overheat issue here.

Nowadays dashcam can be powered by using a USB car charger or via the car fuse box via a hardwire kit.

thumbsup.gif You got the point here.

What about tapping power from Rear view mirror ?  Some car has power dimming rear view mirror, can tap from there right ?
*
You'll need to explore on with this dimming rear view mirror. Maybe ask an accessories shop?

But do note that wiretapping is 100% will void your car warranty.

Yes the GPS will work in Malaysia for the ADAS functions. Only the e-dog can't work out of China.

A shop here in Bukit Jalil quoted me RM90 to hide the wiring of my Garmin Front/Rear Cameras. (GDR45/GDR30)
1. Is that reasonable?

He asked me if i want to continue using the Cigarette Lighter socket or hardwire it?
2. Suggestions? Whats a hardwire kit?
*
1. RM90 is ok.
2. Does your Garmin have parking mode? If no then don't need it. Hardwire means direct power from the car fuse box. If the Garmin doesn't come with the hardwire kit then it's 3rd party hardwire kit by the shop. Quality unknown.

Any idea how many hours the internal battery can last while on parking mode?
*
500mAh maybe less than 30 minutes. But the 70mai is not detecting motion but detect impact.

Hi looking for front and rear car recorder.
Need parking mode recording.

Exploring iroad x9 and Garmin gdr45? Any comment on pro and cons.

Others recommendation?
*
Garmin not sure. iRoad X9 I heard got issues with the wifi dongle burnt out due to overheating. Their previous models have lens distortions due to heat.

Can look for Thinkware dashcams at their premium store in Sunway as got authorized distributor in Malaysia.

Blackvue is also good but no distributor in Malaysia. Only grey importers.

Hi, I'm looking for a dashcam

budget below RM500

features demand:

- clear at night
-wifi/bluetooth connectivity
- wide angle
- gps (optional)
- other feature similar to to my current dashcam
- possible internal battery usage

currently owned Xiaomi Xiaoyi First Edition
but it failed me
- it didnt record 2 video of an accident
does xiaomi mirror dash-cam and xiaomi 70mai pro, recommendable?? sweat.gif
*
I think got a lot of dashcam that matches your requirements.

But avoid built-in lithium battery if can. Get a dashcam that uses a super capacitor instead.

Look at BlueSkySea B1W

what about Blueskysea Mini 0906? top-up rm100 from B1W.. some more got dual camera setup

having hard time with lithium-ion Xiaomi, without power it will automatically shutdown (probably the battery died already)
*
Mini0906 is one of the best budget dual dashcam. Using a capacitor also.

Sounds like the lithium battery can't hold a charge anymore.

QUOTE(vvip @ Oct 8 2018, 02:21 PM)
any idea what model dashcam can have long parking mode?
*
Get a Korean dashcam like Thinkware or Blackvue for true parking mode.

If need long duration parking then need to consider getting a battery pack for the parking mode.

bro.. viofo a129's parking mode can work ? is it good ?
*
All I can say is that it works only.

Viofo still fine-tuning to use with 2 wires and 3 wires hardwire kit. That's why the official 3 wires is not out yet but will be in a few weeks time.

EA Autoworks.  Check them out on Facebook

EA Autoworks have good workmanship but dual dashcam installations I think they charge rm150 if not mistaken. More if your car is those hatchback trunk like on SUV or MPV.

Good enough. Like mini0906 operations. I just received the hardwire sample as final day to day tester. Yet to install onto my vehicle. Quick glance i think it came with mini type fuse tap. Later i snap picture.

A129 cpl stock in on my hands and im using on A119 family.

[attachmentid=10062226]
*
The ACC wire is missing the fuse tap?

Viofo is tweaking the 3 wires hardwire kit more before final version and also implementing an A129 beta firmware with a menu for those using either 2 wires hardwire kit or 3 wires hardwire kit.

Also, the current parking mode is missing 5-7 seconds of video when switching from normal mode and parking mode and vice versa. 1 second is missing for timelapse parking mode. Viofo is looking into this.

i see.. im still waiting for their hard wire kit to release, then i can buy that unit already.. hopefully it will be a right choice? cos im looking for a budget front n rear cam dvr haha..

just maybe the parking mode is not as sensitive as those good brands, i.e. x9, thinkware, etc but at least it will work?  hmm.gif
*
Viofo is working closely and listening to the beta testers. Heard the 3 wires hardwire kit final version is coming out soon in a few weeks (hopefully).

Can't go wrong with Viofo dashcam.

Not much of the sensitivity but more on the programming of the firmware to get it to work properly and automatically between normal recording and parking mode.

Parking mode for China dashcam is not up to Korean dashcam level yet. But 1 day it will be maybe.
