Anyone tried claiming warranty from Thinkware? My 770 bricked after updating firmware, couldnt turned on at all.
*
If claim direct with Thinkware, will need to show proof of purchase.

Might also need to send back the unit to Thinkware.

You'll need to check with them and see.

QUOTE(slec @ Aug 20 2018, 04:32 PM)
hi there, would like to get some insight of the viofo a119 v2, a119 s (available on Sicurez official website) & a119 pro

1. from this forum i read that sicurez tech is the official viofo distributor? however on their lazada page they dont carry a119 pro; where as a company called jnk pro enterprise carries the a119 pro, so would like to seek your advise? I'm looking to get the a119 pro but if there is no authorized distributor will opt for the a119 v2 / a119 s instead?
2. read here that https://jwtechreviews.com/2018/04/20/viofo-a119-pro/ the memory card 64GB Samsung Evo+ was used, any advantage for a 128gb card to be used? or a 64gb card will do the job fine?? any recommended dealer or just get on lazada and get one there?

thank you in advance for your feedback.
*
1. Yes, Sicurez is the authorized Viofo distributor in Malaysia. Sicurez more focus on the latest A129 Duo and the A119 and A119S. For the price of A119 Pro, can consider the A119S or the cheaper A119. Or direct order from Viofo store the A119 Pro.
2. You can use the newer Samsung Evo Plus. Evo+ is the older version. One advantage can record more videos. The other is that 128GB will last longer than 64GB in terms of durability as it takes longer to record until full.

Guess Ill try my luck at the store i installed it first...see how it goes. Thanks!

Most likely the device is dead due to firmware issue.

Where did you buy/installed it?

*
Cannot as it doesn't have parking mode features.

You connect to 🔋 signal from fuse sure can. Only 24/7 hours recording. I worried the dashcam internal battery and the sandisk ultra card die prematurely.
*
Car battery also die prematurely if connect 24/7 laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

Also, that's a Sandisk Ultra micro SD, sure will die even faster...

You can consider Viofo's as it uses GPS mount to stick on the screen. Main unit then slides in and latches to that. Cable position is unaffected too, cuz the cable is connected to the separate GPS mount and not the main device itself. Probably same for any other dashcams with separate GPS/power module.
*
Actually most dashcams can take down easily from the mount.

Only drswback that it will get loose if take down and put back up too much.

I prefer to go with discreet design so no need to take down.

Yeah.. Going with discreet designs and or just leaving it there is better. I could be wrong, but I don't think there are that many cases of cars being smashed into cuz of the dashcam alone. Mainly, that's done cuz there's a bag with like a laptop or tablet in it. But hey, who knows.. Maybe some druggie down on his luck and needs a fix would be willing to take time out to do a smash and grab for the dashcam alone.. Sell for cheap.
*
I only know of 1 case in City group that a City got broken into and her Yi dashcam got stolen...

Is it the same buying here and from viofo.com?
*
Malaysia got Sicurez as their authorized distributor by Viofo. Easier warranty claim if need.

Lazada also got sellers from China also which can take 2-4 weeks to send over or maybe faster. You'll need to be careful.

From their Viofo website or their official store in Aliexpress is direct from Viofo.

Hi,

Is there any Mazda owners installed dashcam (front and back) in your car ? Was told by my SA that the car warranty will void if install a dashcam outside their authorised workshop. Is that true ?
*
Other car manufacturers are the same. Anything which is not installed from the factory is void warranty.

You use dashcam or anything in the ciggie port also void warranty when the port is spoilt sweat.gif sweat.gif sweat.gif

Any recommendations for dashcams that are cheap and decent?

I got a dashcam as a free gift from Subaru but it's pure rubbish.

As there is saying goes "Cheap things is no good. Good things are not cheap" laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

Try Viofo A119, it's on sales now. Lower a bit can look at BlueSkySea B1W

QUOTE(joe8489 @ Sep 11 2018, 11:14 PM)

iRoad is one of the low range Korean dashcam in Korea... But in Malaysia and Singapore is sold as premium dashcam... Singaporean have moved away iRoad dashcams due to quality issues and most using Blackvue & Thinkware more...

Yes very cheap but I'm more worried about warranty since I'm paying a premium price for a premium Korean dashcam laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

I saw in Thinkware China also selling cheap in Taobao...

you plan  to  get  it ?
how big is the viewing screen ?
fast fast up the review ...

actually viofo a119 ...b1w still can match with current latest dash cam in term of spec and price ?

thanks ...
*
The 70mai Pro not yet received la... But they told me it's the 1st batch in Malaysia...

A119 is now considered as Viofo entry level dashcam now laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif B1W is also considered an entry level dashcam... Both are the best capacitor dashcams around now to get... All depends on your requirement for the dashcam...

Hmm..sound so bad...
Quality issue happen on all model?.....

Just get it about 2 weeks.
*
Last time the V9 got recalled for the out of focus lens issue due to heat...

X9 I saw in other forums the wifi dongle easily spoilt...

TX9 at the moment my review unit not much issue. Sometimes auto shutdown itself while in parking mode due to their car battery protection kicked in... Never encountered this with my Thinkware F800 Pro before... The TX9 features are comparable to the F800 Pro...

Most important you got a warranty for the iRoad with your iRoad seller...

Looking forward to your reviews, would like to see how would IMX335 fare against IMX291

Although IMX335 has a higher resolution count, the individual pixel size is smaller at 2 micron instead of 2.9 micron on the IMX291(viofo)
I believe this will affect the night/lowlight performance

So far what I've seen is the picture taking capability is quite good in the sense that it can capture more details (higher pixels count - 5MP), can see number plate from further distance.
Ya managed to get it for 299RMB (promo price)
The viewing screen is 2 inches only, 320*240 resolution since the device itself is quite small
*
The seller told me this 70mai Pro could be the game changer... I'm like ok... Give me review unit 1st laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

Yep. I meet the auto shutdown problem. It's too easy to kick in voltage protection. But sometime 4 hour still recording... Weird.
Wifi dongle can use computer dongle?
*
I tried before 20 mins into parking mode and it auto shutdown doh.gif doh.gif doh.gif

Not sure about the wifi dongle though...
