guys guys, i have a very tight budget of RM350. any good dashcam to recommend ? my car always exposed to sun, and i will be driving my carr day & night time, so video quality must be good. thank you
Consider a dashcam that uses a capacitor as more durable in the heat than those using a lithium battery.
I got myself a 70Mai. Its pretty good for what is worth. Getting another one with screen. Looking at YI Ultra Dash Camera and 70mai Car DVR Smart Dash Cam Pro. Which is better?
I bought the XiaoYi dashcam and it comes with the windscreen mounting. Any compatible mountings or holders for the dashboard instead? I'd rather stick on the mount on my dashboard instread of creating a watermark sort of stain on my windscreen.
You mean suction cup mount or tape mount? If tape mount, can use those clear road tax sticker and stick inbetween the dashcam and windscreen.
Taobao have more options... Aliexpress most is add on micro SD card... But I saw this with something called Mai cable... I think for parking mode maybe...
how long a dash cam will last on those with batteries typed.. ?
A dashcam that uses a lithium battery is not good to use in hot countries like Malaysia. Over time the lithium battery will fail which causes the dashcam to unable to save the settings and the last video file. And the lithium battery will get bloated, leaking or worst case explodes.
Capacitor dashcams don't have these issues like the above. The only drawback is you cannot power on the dashcam without power.
A lithium battery dashcam can power on for about 5-15 minutes depending on the size of the mAh it has.
2 of my xiaoyi's dashcam that put on my 2 cars are still functioning well after over a year.
always parking, i always put my cap to cover the dashcams from would-be eye prying thieves. perhaps that is the reason of the prolonged life of my dashcams.
My wife's yi dashcam's battery died after 1.5 years. Always park outside sun and rain.
