Does anyone know why the plastic grille next to the front fog lights have slightly different pattern for the left and right fog light? The left car fog light seems to be deeper, while the right fog light on the car is shallower. Here is a pic.

In the brochure it hows both are shallow (right side version)

For CFE, the one with hole is to guide air into the intercooler, and another has no hole at all.

For IAFM+ (not yet launch), both foglight covers has no holes at all.

well, i was doing a corning on mex highway around 140km'h , on "S" winding road, sometimes on those 90 degree turn you will hear a sound similiar to this but louder depending turning left or right

Why not make both with holes for streamline design? I don't mind at all.

front grill is better to have less opening as possible for less drag and better aerodynamics. helps a bit with FC.

In my mind, front grille = front wing in F1 car. Improve down force tongue.gif

the bigger the opening grill, the better it will be interm of thermal efficiency. thats the diff between ss n preve at the lower bumper grill. but there will be a downside of it,air drag. well,of course there is the way to counter this by redesingning engine bay, engine design, engine placement and lower floor plan to channel the air smoothly to the rear end to reduce drag coefficient n lift, but it cost associate n normally sports car will use this.

but i like what ford done with active shutter idea. when in the city, the grill is open to help in thermal efficiency, and at speed, when velocity is enough to cool down the engine, the grill is closed to help reducing air drag. it is costly, but not as high as redesingning major part of the car. its brilliant indeed.

by the way, preve is being upgraded its safety pack without increasing the price,as what people complaint earlier, even the exact.

so let see how people responded by translating into sale as some of the complaint being fulfill. or it just talk the talk.

by the way, preve sale in thailand isnt encouraging due to thais policy, only 1.5l engine capacity and below for 1st buyer scheme. thats why ford intro 1.5l fiesta,n prtn only sell 1.3 saga. now, saga also not in good cndition when new policy that 1.2l car being given tax rebate causing price of saga is not cheaper anymore.

dunno whether prtn can ready the 1litre engine for gsc or 2nd option intergrate micro hybrid to gain some incentive. the latter will be more viable n i heard its nearly ready to the market.

Seems like Thailand purposely lowering the engine requirement just outside proton's reach...

When I do instant fuel consumption.

From high speed cruising say 100 km, lift foot on gas, consumption 0.0 l/100km up to just below 40 km, then consumption slowly increase until max the 19.9 l/100 km when very slow. When stop, then put car in D, no foot on gas, the car crawls, but fuel consumption is also 19.9l/100 km.

So crawling uses 19.9 l fuel?? Seems slightly wrong here.

the calculation for the instant meter depends on the throttle input and the distance travelled.. so, when the engine is idling, the engine will still be consuming petrol but you are not moving anywhere.. that is why when u slow down, the instant fuel consumption meter increase to 19.9l/100km and stops there (im not sure why it stops at 19.9/100km).. in my preve, it would be more than 20-30l/100km.. when u start to travel again n started to cruise again, the instant meter would b very low because you are travelling.. hope u understand
