Everyone please factory reset after upgrading to 4.3. Will save you lots of problems.

Don't forget to make a backup prior to the reset.

Most of them are just plain lazy to do factory reset...they want to avoid the hussle when restoring.

Then when the phone hangs..the apps freeze..they complain that 4.3 is bad..lolz. doh.gif

Wanna ask, what are the methods of restoring once a factory reset is done? Will the restore be able to keep all data of all apps as it was before a hard reset? Thanks. smile.gif

from my observations....

the lags and crashes are caused by compatibility of the old version apps with 4.3

though, play store still prompts you to update the apps. after the apps updates. it still crashes / hang. so i do agree on the factory reset suggested by other fellow pros & bros.

after the reset.do a manual download of new version of the apps that you have. rather than jus updating the app. but do take note, that some apps with temp files / saved files (like games) might be gone.
so choose the particular apps which seems to be a bit sluggish after the update, but doesnt yield important info. and do a full back up on the others.

as... i still felt that 4.3 fluidity on the GUI and other areas out performed 4.2.2
so to judge that samsung screw up 4.3 might not be the best conclusion.

android is an open source when apps and the OS itself is developed at such variety wher crashes is a norm.
so i believe if v can follow the correct steps give our phone the new updates. v would b able to minimize the problems, and maximize the potential of 4.3 nod.gif

Now i'm on Echoe Illusion V6 Slim. Can install TB while fat V6 can't but both SElinux disabled.

Notice lagness during browsing. Quite annoying actually. battery drain still there but not as aggressive as before.

Now itchy hand to flash to Pheonix...

Stop spreading misinformation. There is no rule that one has to do a factory reset after an os upgrade. An os upgrade is designed to allow users to continue using their phones without having to re-install everything again like after flashing. App incompatibilities can be tackled individually while a factory reset should be the last resort when you have nothing left to try.

It'd take some time to clear cache and dalvik cache. factory reset will help in that matter. The phone should run smooth after a while using it thanks to TRIM.

Also, with Helium app, factory reset and restore is quick to do.
