And from what I read, 2.5" HDD is actually quite resilient to shakes already, as long as you're not using it ontop of a jack hammer.

About TX201,
why in the world Asus still put that sh*tty ATOM chip for ANDROID.
It's completely make tablet mode useless with no solution to change its ROM.

Someone has open the T100 keyboard dock and found a steel inside. Asus purposely put in the steel under the keyboard to stable it. If it come with 500GB HDD, most probably the weight wont different much.

the so called shitty atom chip should be more powerful then many (if not all) of the ARM processors.

ASUS no longer ships the initial RM1299 T100 with 32G eMMC storage. The next batch of T100 will be priced at RM1399 with 32G SSD + 500 Sata HDD hybrid.

But the 500GB hdd is in the keyboard, and makes the keyboard heavier as well, right? Damnit, I want the light setup...

As mentioned above, a 2.5" hard disk's weight is negligible.

ermmm you will have problem with the weight of a 500GB 2.5" HDD if you are an ant. my standard four nephew has no problem with a 10" I Malaysia netbook (it has a 2.5" HDD in it and not to mention the entire package is way heavy than a tablet. tongue.gif

Through all the discussion on the weight of the HDD, we need to keep in mind that the keyboard base / dock has to be a bit "weighty" to balance the tablet when it dock hmm.gif

ASUS brochure says the new T100 has SSD instead of the eMMC as per the first badge

If your review back Asus Fonepad ( not Fonepad 7),
Games and some apps work very bad, low framerate on 720p.
If Intel still not updated their x86 to ARM library, I'm sure most of android apps have incompatibility issues.

tyring hard to understand your point hmm.gif
But this T100 run the full W8.1, not the half-assed W8.1RT.
I think if you really want to run android apps on this, you can try any of those android emulator for windows hmm.gif

Google and Android developers are the ones who should update their OS to make it compatible with all features of the processor. People don't normally blame the processor maker for issues with the OS/app. Write a proper driver!!!!
