Guys, need your help here about mach hl fd.

I put in 1k into fd promo@3.7% for 6 months. I realised that the fd interest credited into my account is different.

1st time: 3.14
2nd month: 2.84

I use compound interest calculator and I just can't get these two figures. Anyone can help?
Thanks.

Should be 2 months of fund withholding as in T&C item20:

20. Eligible customers must also maintain their account balances in the participating account(s)
as of 31 st July 2014 until the date of interest/dividend crediting i.e. 30th September 2014

Yes, you r right Bro. You eyes very sharp. biggrin.gif
In that case, the effective rate is further reduce to 3.48% for a 6 months placement. The just ended MACH FD 3.7% for 6 months was indeed a better deal.

Picked up a brochure from MBB Damansara Jaya indicating the PMA-i promo is giving a max of 3%+2%bonus for min amt of rm50k (same like 2 or 3 years ago) but didn't have time to explore further. Went to MBB Damansara Utama but was told that the current offer for PMA-i is 2.75%+1.1%Bonus instead.

Banker's cheque? Safest way IMO. Of course, if you're moving small amounts (a few thousand) then you may not want to pay the fee. Maybank's banker's cheque fee, if I'm not wrong, is highest among all.

Went to HLBank Damansara Utama but they said this can't be done. IBG thru HLConnect stirctly at rm10k. So have to transfer matured Mach FD into MoneyBox account first, then go to HL branch's counter for big amount transfer using IBG(rm2), Banker's Cheque(rm5.25) or Rentas(rm14).

I'm looking for short term FD highest rate anyone knows?
Maybe Monthly or Quartely maturity, and if possible daily interest calculation if take out before maturity.

Currently im just using maybank FD coz its convenient no need go bank and can take out just with few clicks.

How u guys move the money from one bank to another bank, for FD. I mean approx RM 50k? Using cheque?

IBG or cheques are the easiest.

Any idea if walk into PERWIRA AFFIN bank to open the FD ac, need introducer? If have no existing ac with them.
*
I didn't know we need an introducer to open FD account with any banks. When I open account with Affin Bank, I just walk in and say want to place FD and they just ask for my IC.

FD interest is counted by the days. Different months have different days.

Usually upon maturity will autorenew at very low board rate for the same term. Unless instructed otherwise.

Hey brothers, just a quick question. I have a bad habit of over spending on a monthly basis and touching any savings I got so I was thinking of setting up a fix deposit account.

My only question is i know i wont touch the money once i open it so can i do a monthly bank in? Can this be done?

EG

Initial account is opening is 1k.
I always have a surplus from my pay between 500-1k on a montly basis so can i put this inside the account.

Nope, FD doesn't work that way. Unless you place separate FD amounts on a monthly basis. But it'll get complicated.

Try searching for a good saving account.
