Last time BR also wanted me to go to their branch to deposit 1 cent to one of my FDs after
BR found out they put extra 1 cent to my FD...  sweat.gif

This time, I have to call them every month (1 year FD) to remind BR to do a monthly interest to my saving account; just called them, but the person in charge was on the phone; so I have call again later..  mad.gif

Made a second call to BR, finally managed to get the person in charged on the phone now:

Me: hello, Encik BR, Apa kharbar..?
BR: hello, apa cerita?
Me: boleh sila masuk interest ke saving? Saya akan dapat interest pada tiap 5 hari bulan
BR: Oh.. 5 hari bulan ke..? Okay, nanti saya akan buat..
ME: Ok..Thank you

Very lousy and unprofessional service from BR.. I am thinking to place new FD to another BR branch..

oh.mai.gawd. rclxub.gif

cant this be fixed?

it seems the automation of monthly interest autodebit into fd account is set upfront, and once set, no way to amend it??

sign acknowledgement oso useless, cant use it to penalize BR or the staff. in the end, we customers suffer due to their inefficiency.

based on bbgoat's experience, it's not fully system limitation. just human mistake that forgotten to enable the month interest crediting.

the only system limitation is that to set this during FD registration, or else there's no way to do it once FD is locked in.

Not bad looking at the current scenario. Very difficult to take it out and invest in other options. The same for the ASM and Wawasan 2020.

boys, 2013 EPF Dividend is 6.35% rclxms.gif check your i-Akaun, 2013 statement.

Top Goat, you registered your KWSP online account? Is it called i-Account?

If I want to register, I need to start from this link, right?
https://secure.kwsp.gov.my/secured/member/register?0
Top Cat, did you register in KWSP online account?
*
yep, correct link. not sure what's the latest registration policy. i remember early days when i-Akaun was introduced, very troublesome to get the password/pin (if i'm not mistaken, last time had to go to EPF office to get the PIN printed on security paper). Now, i think it's easier.

do call up EPF Call Centre 03-8922 6000 for assistance. they're quite helpful and patient (i forgotten my password and they waited and kept hinting me of the password! until i almost gave up, until i remembered and successfully entered iAkaun).

any good rate for 12 months other than the usual 3.3 from what i check on the topic updates?  Any promotion (without needing to put certain % on the primary account or link with any bond/investment), just pure FD

The Affin 3.60, does it come with any condition, the description mentioned about placing 100k in the saving/current account, does that 100k inclusive of the FD itself or u need another 100k apart from what u place in the FD
*
Affin's 3.60% p.a. is their standard over-the-counter rate. purely FD. no other conditions. no need setup any accounts.

I did mine few months back, easy peasy. nothing to worry on CASA/FD split. thumbup.gif

the hassle to go to bank, lock down in FD, and negligible interest .... more practical to put into high-interest savings account (e.g. m2u savers @ 2.1% pa) for easy access to the 5K fund.

only go for FD if you really really really dont need to touch the 5K within 12-months. smile.gif

Suggest post #1 to be updated with recent BR rate change (possible branch-specific).

Also a short disclaimer of BR's late update on website. Recommend readers to call their preferred BR branch for official confirmation .

Hmm, no one mentioned OCBC's 6 months rate of 3.6%. Quite good since it's a straightforward FD.

QUOTE(bearbear @ Mar 6 2014, 04:32 PM)
We always focus on their 3 months promo, any link to the promo you mentioned?

i went to their site only see the 3 months promo

QUOTE(munkeyflo @ Mar 6 2014, 04:36 PM)
Yea. I just placed my funds into this actually.
Was at OCBC to withdraw my FD maturing today and take to Affin for 3.6% for 12 months but the girl told me got 3.6% for 6 months fresh funds. Straightforward FD no CASA thingy. Minimum 1k, maximum 2.5m.
*
this is interesting!

any website link? so far i dug out this http://www.ocbc.com.my/personal-banking/Ac...etail.html?id=6

no 3.6% pa for 6 months tenure.

*edit: what happen after maturity? if auto-renew (another 6-mth), will get 3.6% pa too? IMO, it's quite attractive since you're rolling the fund every 6-mth instead of affin's or ocbc's own CMGIA-i 3.6% @ 12mth

Do you know when is this OCBC's 3.6% for 6 months promo ends?

Minimum RM 1K is not bad  smile.gif
Thanks for the OCBC link..

After 6 months, your FD rate will become board rate.
If auto renew 6 months, you will get 6 months rate based on board rate.

Like what Top cat mentioned, if go for Affin Islamic 3.6% for 12 months and coupled
with monthly interest and maybe will get some gifts, Affin Islamic is a better option.
*
OIC, so it's a promo. I'm eyeing 6-mth tenure so I can uplift them by Sep. Then I can use this fund to reduce my house loan, coupled with withdrawal from EPF Acc 2.

If I decided to let it renew, the rate is attractive still. Let monehhh make monehhh smile.gif

I already did an FD with Affin @ 3.6% pa. That's my long-term placement and keep 'em rolling smile.gif

Thx BCC!
