But then, the Volar design sure looks much much better than the crappy Intel stock heatsink. laugh.gif

Weird though, even for Core2Quad QX6700, intel still use the same old Intel Stock Heatsink design, only that they've replaced the Black round fan with a "Gay" blue round fan which the maximum speed is higher than the black round fan. doh.gif

Can't they change the stock heatsink to a better design? sweat.gif

got limited cost maybe??that's what happened actually in the industry, they wan't to cut the cost kaw2...sometimes, the safety factor of some product also very2 minimal in order to cut cost.i just attend motorola talk a few weeks ago, they even got award for employee which manage to save cost of their operation... sweat.gif

Like AMD giving a heatpipe cooler for the Opteron series?lol..

1 question here. For 3rd Party HSF that comes with fan, they normally have that thermal sensor thing which allow the fan to adjust its speed according to their temperature. Will it be fine if we force the fan (ie, add fan controller) to run at full speed all the time? Will it be problematic as in the fan might damage in long term use?
*
for ur q, the fan lifespan may be shortened due to the 100% speed operation for a long period. that's y most of the 3rd party HSF fans got thermal sensor.most of the fan running for gc also not running 100% speed for most time....

oic...so nice temp u have there... thumbup.gif
anyway FYI, open casing would not promise better cooling.good internal airflow in the closed casing give better cooling to the hardware inside.

that's y good intake and exhaust fans needed in order to get proper airflow....

go for those high cfm fan.dun go for CM fans they're silent only but doesnt pushes decent air IMO
*
yeah, need those high cfm one. but if cannot tolerate with the noise, maybe can try get fan controller.
as for me, i will set the fans to max speed while gaming, and set it back to slower while idle.... nod.gif

i'm using cm UV fans for exhaust and side intake for gc. but delta for my front intake...have to mix up silents and high cfm fans to get best result.. smile.gif

yup maybe you r rite. bcoz its impossible that blue orb can beat hr-01 in terms of value and performance..
*
coz blue orb maybe a good choice for SFF or mini ATX case which space are really limited, but for standard atx case, TR HR-01 really performs well....

haha..styloe, don't be so harsh to him.. laugh.gif actually its not much depends on the casing itself, but also ur overall setup. if u got good casing, but inside really cramped, un manage cable etc, cannot also..... sweat.gif

sometimes need to be a bit harshla fren.Dun expect us to spoon fed everytime and also nextime when asking ,plz ask in more details rather in general.we're not psychic ya know.basically a good casing like Lian Li,thermalright cooler + good fan and some cabbie management here and there.VOALA bingo u cant go wrong or rather can u fork the cash for it  laugh.gif
*
need to do some research before asking anything actually. make me remember when my 1st GC upgrade a loooong~ time ago, really doing my research to gather all info to make a right gc within my budget.
actually its quite fun la doing that as we can gain a lot more knowledge. dont' just simply asking general question which will end up with a lot of more question arise.... sweat.gif

its a must actually this isnt school where u ask and get spoon fed.Owh come on  doh.gif  btw i've acquired a lot of knowledge thru LYnet and other site as well.As u said doing research is rather fun for certain ppl like us but most of my frens really2 bloody lazy just call me up and ask wat to buy at this budget. And the thing that really ticks me off damn bugger has the nerve to say this "are u sure?"after that i just ignore wheneva Q's pops up from them.Damn lazy really sadla.... sweat.gif

it's quite fun to share some knowledge to others, most of my friends do respect my opinion while discussing about hardware, comp stuff etc....
actually, we really off topic already.... sweat.gif

anyway, happy become 'freak' (referring to your post count laugh.gif )
