Guys.. I have a question, I am damn new at this heatsink installation thingy... I have already installed the g-power bl, and I used the thermal paste that came with it.

I was just wondering, the way I paste the thermal paste will affect the amount of cooling? Or perhaps not? unsure.gif

erm.. it depends.. wether you put too much or too little.. but in my personal experience, this wont effect the temp very much.. maybe just about 1-2C only.. i've even try to use my XP-90C with very-very-very little AS5 on my A64 and my rig just running fine..

Where could we find Arctic Freezer 64 Pro besides bulk order?

Both cooler are almost similar in terms of construction and functionality. But, you would probably want Hyper TX if you have DDR socket on the left side. The fan shroud can cool the DDR modules.

While the Freezer 64 Pro has curved fins, it is only useful to cool mosfets because the airflow will not reach other DDR except for the one nearest to the cpu socket.

Okay, a lil bit out of topic.

Arctic Silver 5 VS Cap Ayam thermal paste

Will it make much difference? Okay... arctic silver 5 cost around RM24+ for the 3gram one.. then cap ayam can be RM9... but somehow, I believe thermal paste pricing speaks more than just brand.... anyone care to share their experience between non branded and branded thermal paste?

Is there much difference in the cooling effect? Come share! share!

No, AS5 proves to be a lot better than the Cap Ayam Thermal Paste...

Why?

old time ago when i was still a newbie in cooling the pc, i'm using the cap ayam thermal paste for my pentium 4 3.0 @ 4GHz with XP120 and the temperature is around 44-46celcius

And when i change to using AS5 thermal paste, what i got is a decent 40celcius... thumbup.gif

That's my experience liao... icon_rolleyes.gif

Seems like sHawTY is the active big bro in this thread.. haha.. kay I'm here to learn a lil more.

Now my casing at the back, I installed a 80mm casing fan.

So just curious, if I added the slightly bigger one (which is 90mm or 93mm? I cant remember) will it improve my casing's air cooling? unsure.gif
