QUOTE(vey99 @ Aug 23 2006, 06:36 PM)
Today I upgrade HSF after searching high and low in LYP (exlude OCP, they open so late) I finally bought a Gigabyte G-Power (GH-PDU21-SC) from All IT. Most other shops no AM2 cooler for sale.

After adding this + some AS5 I see around 13% improvements and now testing to see how stable at 2.7GHz. Previousl load was 67~69C@2.7GHz, now is 59~60C@2.7GHz.
I prolly won't go higher for normal use cos generally I set guideline at 60C max for CPU.

Shawty pls add me:
vey99 ~ AMD 3500+ Orleans AM2 @ 2.7GHz ~ Gigabyte G-Power ~ Idle 40°C, Load 59°C
what voltage are u at with the Orleans at 2.7GHz? because mine doing the same speed at 1.5V is around the same temperature as yours.... STOCK COOLER some more. and my room is not airconditioned.

Actually the TR Ultra-series fins are slightly curved downwards at the other end and with slightly high pressure fan it will cool the motherboard area.

QUOTE(sHawTY @ Oct 15 2006, 11:34 PM)
I don't care about what shape that chipset heatsink is...
But since it's more heatpipe that has been thoroughly put to the heatsink, then the temperature spreading will be much better... rclxms.gif \

Anyway, today, i just go to LYP...
And surveyed LYP, and touched a new cooler from CoolerMaster...

It's CoolerMaster Hyper LX...

And there i stood for about 5 minutes, appereciating it, damn, it's beautiful...
And to add up, the weight of that heatsink, is about half of the older Hyper 6+...

It's so light... wub.gif

But, no one knows how well does that heatsink performs...
Anyone have tried it before? blink.gif
u don't mean Coolermaster Hyper TX don't u? i haven't found any LX in CM's catalogue/webbie.

HyperTX reviews showed positive response, at least on par with SI-128.

Where could we find Arctic Freezer 64 Pro besides bulk order?

Both cooler are almost similar in terms of construction and functionality. But, you would probably want Hyper TX if you have DDR socket on the left side. The fan shroud can cool the DDR modules.

While the Freezer 64 Pro has curved fins, it is only useful to cool mosfets because the airflow will not reach other DDR except for the one nearest to the cpu socket.

idle temp shouldn't be too far from your casing temp

nice, it can support older socket A mainboard...

performance, hmm personally I don't know how it will fare on socket A mainboard type.. the website just show the temperature result for unknown CPU type.

the most important thing is, it clearly replicates Zalman CNPS9500 design, and added a fan shroud

there are differences (minus the brands)
- Hyper TX has fan/air shroud covering the heatsink. The shroud directs airflow to the motherboard. Freezer 7 Pro instead have lower fins bent to direct air to the motherboard. However the HyperTX does the job better if you have RAM modules instead of mosfets on the other side of the cooler.

- it might still be possible to swap HyperTX's fan, but not Freezer 7 Pro unless you use rubber bands or some DIY solution for mounting aftermarket fan

- there's a review comparing the two, with HyperTX winning the other over a few Celcius

if i use antec super lanboy, how can i make pressure inside my casing more positive? That cm hyper tx good for e6300? Will it be too high for super lanboy casing? waiting for some review. Got good hsf with blue led like blue orb II?
HyperTX is a lot smaller than Thermalright Ultra-120 or Scythe Infinity/Ninja

Idle: When there are no program at all running in background...
The best way to find an idle temperature is to leave the pc running free for 10 minutes... [Don't forget to run a temperature reader software in the background]

Full Load: When the processor is running at 100% in the task manager...

it is almost impossible to achieve ZERO application running in the background. however, I would say anything less than 1% cpu utilization can be considered as cpu idle state.

but overpriced. i'd rather get the normal copper Zalman VGA cooler instead of the Fatal1ty series. it's basically the same, just less fancy
