Bought my 2nd Xiaomi yesterday this time white colour for my girlfriend who changed from iPhone 5.

She seems to be enjoying it though commented it will be a temporary phone before iPhone 6 comes out.

Those who haven't bought cases the Momax back cover is good value for the quality. U can get it from directd or satu gadget.

I noticed both Directd and Satu Gadget are selling sealed boxes now, meaning u have to install the play store yourself. It is still an easy process so u shouldn't run into difficulty.

Not possible unless u r a China resident or Singapore resident and you won't have any local warranty unless u send it back to China. There is no such thing as ori set in Malaysia because Xiaomi isn't officially sold here yet.

my 1st unit was from directd, 2nd unit from satu gadget. RM1259 only competition is the Lenovo Vibe Z, Xiaomi has better camera but Lenovo can use 2 sim cards and bigger screen.

According to xiaomi weibo, they gonna release HONGMI Note - 5.5 inch, octa core.

Overall if Xiaomi can make the phone with slimmer bezels for the next upgrade and lte support it will be even perfect.

I think side loading PlayStore isn't too hard? Should be have method/tutorial on their forum.

Yes there is even a video on YouTube. Type install Google Play on Xiaomi, follow the instructions.

I have search the phone with "market" no result. no google play too.

I found the tutorial, it mentioned about xiaomi account but I don't see anywhere in the phone for this. now I'm highly doubt that this is a modified ROM. it doesn't show any set up steps when I did factory reset.

Your about screen doesn't look like MIUI's normal about screen. Here's mine from a Mi2S, while you can see other MI3 about screens at http://en.miui.com/thread-13766-1-1.html.

yup, that's why I'm confuse. can I ask the shop to flash the original rom for me? mine is the tegra 4 version btw.

Yours is running custom rom, not official MIUI rom, and you say you are using Tegra 4 Mi3? Can it connect to our local network here? The screenshot you posted is showing the phone is connected to WiFi but not network though.

maybe you can ask them why it's not the original MIUI ROM, and see if they can flash it back for you.. My Mi2S came with MIUI right out of the box..

otherwise, you can try flashing it yourself.. it was fairly simple for me when I was switching from Stable to Developer rom.. resources are at http://en.miui.com/download-101.html just make sure you select the correct version (yours should be Mi3-TD)

highly recommend the developer ROM for weekly updates..

yup. I called the salesperson with the phone with my digi prepaid. works fine. mobile network... I only get E sign there... need to test elsewhere. I only saw digi 2g network, better change the phone I guess.

I ask them to set it back to original first, then I'll try something else. I worried the MIUI USB driver might be removed too... I only stay in KL today n tomorrow, need to make sure it works perfectly.
