tested the phone at 7 Mobile, tough time comparing it with Nexus 5 and LG G2 side by side since price is very similar. Only major drawback is the Xiaomi doesnt have LTE which may be a deal breaker for many people in KL who is using Maxis and Celcom, not to mention Digi.

QUOTE(vostro78 @ Feb 23 2014, 12:42 AM) erm, agree with that. so i think in this case n5 win? haha Depends on user, for me I prefer the camera on the Xiaomi and also the battery 3050A. Also N5 uses part of the screen for the keys, making the screen size smaller than 5inch. Still there are so many new models out this year so if not urgent better to wait a short while. Oppo N7 will be out next month, Samsung Galaxy S5, HTC One 2... also LTE version of Xiaomi.

QUOTE(mudkipryan94 @ Feb 23 2014, 04:58 PM) Meanwhile for the war... XiaoMi: i no fearsome w you, Oppp... Oppo:come on, fight my 178°deg. rotation camera boy... Oppo camera didn't turn out so good during the press release testing, but bigger screen size may suite people who want bigger size. Apparently LTE version will be out soon also, should be around the same price but not sure how long have to wait. This post has been edited by DannyOP: Feb 24 2014, 12:19 AM

QUOTE(vinhan @ Feb 24 2014, 08:54 AM) but for me i will prefer xiao mi , here in malaysia LTE also not stable yet some places have some places dont. Btw , wifi is very common now everywhere also got . like @kenysl say 'if one keeps waiting, one will never be able to buy a phone as the choices getting better day by day' yea true, but if it was just for a short while can consider to wait, if 1 year later then all phones now will be dinosaur.

lte version will be around the same price because many countries will be a deal breaker without LTE. Just depends on how fast they come out with the LTE model, actually it is the same Snapdragon 800 just with LTE.

Lenovo K910 is a direct competitor for the Mi3 for Malaysia now, both similar prices, but K910 has a 5.5 in screen and ap models with dual sim, slightly slimmer at 7.9mm thin. However camera for Mi3 supposedly better.
Update - price dropping to RM1359 today from Satu Gadget, I expect the price to drop further March 7 when Singapore starts selling at RM1k and 64GB for RM1.3k.

QUOTE(gyver @ Feb 27 2014, 10:18 PM) If there are so many LYN members interested in this phone. Why don't we just petition StoreKini.com to carry this phone? TS care to create a list of prospective buyers. But we need to make sure what model and price range before anyone willing to commit. Xiaomi will be here in April.. Expect prices to drop to Singapore level.

QUOTE(Godevil @ Feb 27 2014, 11:11 PM) sure? since it's launching in Singapore in 7 March, they where got so many stock to accommodate malaysia market at the same time... see redmi until now still out of stock... i think malaysia launch will be much later... as always Xiaomi doesnt have many stocks to begin with, so we can expect sold out again within few minutes.

QUOTE(ralfmars83 @ Feb 28 2014, 02:09 AM) don't wait for Malaysia launch la...just go for AP..like those guys in the Nexus 5 thread.. Nexus different story because local set will cost more than AP., but for Xiaomi they will let us order direct, making it same as Singapore and China price. I don't mind waiting as I've got a temporary Moto G as a phone. When it launches 64gb will be 1.3k, and may have LTE version coming too. This post has been edited by DannyOP: Feb 28 2014, 08:18 AM

QUOTE(ralfmars83 @ Feb 28 2014, 07:25 AM) Bear in mind the "out of stock" thingy. Yesterday i was refreshing my browser for like every minute betwenn 11.58am-12.10pm in the xiaomi SG website and it showing that "thing" all time. Yes marketing strategy. When it comes here in April lte version will already be launched and the older non lte will be first to be sold to clear stocks. I think both Red Mi and Mi3 non lte version will be launched together as they are from different price brackets, all depending on how Singapore takes up stock on March 7 bearing in mind they are more particular about lte. If few takers from Singapore you can expect Malaysia to be sold earlier. This post has been edited by DannyOP: Feb 28 2014, 08:22 AM

Imho white doesn't look good on the Xiaomi, saw the actual unit at SatuGadget. Silver and Black still ok. The White material makes it look cheap.
Further price drop! This is crazy..now going for RM1259 already!

QUOTE(ralfmars83 @ Mar 2 2014, 06:59 PM) If rm11xx from satugadget/directd/7mobile really it's time to buy already.. Let's hope Xiaomi does the same launching in Malaysia that they did in Singapore then rm1k only for original sets.. AP sets left with no choice but sell at rm900 or less!
