QUOTE(victorywp @ Jan 29 2014, 06:35 PM) you are right. it's not worth trying at all. furthermore have to spend it in overseas with uob's famous high foreign exchange rate. UOB are coming out with stupider contest to win like the Honda cars to be won forget about it as you would have spend as much equals to buying the car instead |

QUOTE(shuangping @ Jan 30 2014, 09:59 AM) Hello frnd here.. With regards to your Cash Back ("CB"). This is what u need to do.UOB was reply my call...After I told them i will report to BNM. Anyway, happy CNY to you all!! Calculate what was supposed to be your CB every month since u got your Card Petrol - 5% CB Capped at RM25 (or RM500 of petrol) ) Hypermarket - 2% CB Capped at RM30 (or RM1,500 spending Mobile - 2% CB CB Capped at RM6 (or RM300 spending) Pharmacy - - 2% CB No Cap Remember there is also CB for Movies Then add up and see if its more or less than what u got. To me, CB is normally not a round figure. FYI, when I got my UOB, I always calculated manually and compared it to my Statement and it was always less. I had to call UOB every month, until I got feddup and send them an 'Official Complaint' and said that if it was wrong again the next month, I would make an official complaint to BNM. After that it was correctly calculated. This post has been edited by cfa28: Jan 30 2014, 11:22 AM |

Sometimes the machine just does not work and the 2% smart cash rebates does not appear in the transaction slip. I called in to UOB several times and they said the system would automatically add up later. Hmmm though until now I not sure if it did cause didn't really count. But can't be bothered too much anymore as Maybank Amex is my main card for petrol, only use UOB during the weekday since its 500 cap is not enough for my Plats. |

QUOTE(davidlow7 @ Jan 30 2014, 04:31 PM) I've never been hardworking enough to manually jote down every detail but I do check the statements to re-verify.. the 2% smart$ at bhp is a little bit tricky. if you pump directly at the automated fuel dispenser with your uob cc, then you will get the 2% smart$. if you go inside to pay at the counter, then you need to be sure that the cashier charge your uob cc at the uob terminal/machine. usually bhp has 2 terminals/machines which are uob and affin. if the cashier charged your uob cc to the affin terminal/machine, then you will not get your 2% smart$. i will always remind the cashier to charge my uob cc at the correct terminal especially if the cashier looks blur. The only issue I face with the cashback is the 2% smart rebate in BHP. Speaking of Smart$, how do I redeem it? Do the BHP cashiers know the process? |

QUOTE(goliath @ Jan 30 2014, 05:10 PM) yes, by right they should know the procedures. but sometimes if the staff is just a replacement/temporary staff, he/she may not know the procedures. anyway, usually there should be another senior around, just look for the one. |

QUOTE(goliath @ Jan 30 2014, 05:10 PM) oh ya, regarding how to redeem smart$ at bhp, you need to pump a minimum rm20.so let's say if you have accumulated rm1.20 in smart$, so they will charge rm18.80 to your uob cc with rm1.20 directly deducted from you rm20 fuel purchase. if you have accumulated rm20 or more in smart$, so you no need to pay anything. |

Is it?What I knew that you still need to go in to pay via counter and have the cashier swipe via the UOB machine. Is there any change of this that I may not known of? |
