New Requirement for UOB Credit Cards Annual Fee Waiver.
Classic : Need to swipe total 60 times.
Platinum : Need to swipe minimum 1 time per month AND spend RM36K or RM60K depending on Card Type.

The above sums up about all there is to this card. shakehead.gif

Wow, you guys dem rich to swipe RM36K on your credit card per annum.

RM60K / RM5K per month on cc, that is like the salary of 80% of salaried MY workers.

Half Year already > RM36K or RM60K.

For RM36K in 6-mths or RM72K per year, I say rclxms.gif rclxms.gif

For RM60K in 6-mths, means a year u spend RM120K through CC, I rclxub.gif rclxub.gif , really elite Boss

Haha. I think you misunderstood already. Classic card no need min spend. Just 60 transactions only.

OIC, you are refering just to number of swipes, yes, then I agree, just pump petrol every week and eat out on weekend already almost 24 swipes a month. Thought you were referring to value of swipes.

Just received a SMS from UOB:
Good News: They're having a promotion of 5% CashBack and 5% SmartCash for BHP from January until April 2014.
Bad News: TnC of OneCard has been amended.

Hi Inferno, I have tried searching through the UOB Website but I could not find this announcement there. Possible for u to post the link?

If this is true, I would rather just use my Citi CB Platinum. The CB may come later (need to accumulate to RM50) but at least I am assured of my CB.

Here's the info I "extracted" from the UOB CS

Max rebate given RM50,000 per week [10-16 Jan / 17-23 Jan / 24-30 Jan]
Rebate capped per cardholder : RM50 per week
Only at Tesco, AEON BIG, Giant, Cold Storage, Jaya Grocer
*
I hate all this capping to RMxx cos we as the user will have no idea whether we qualify and be at the mercy of the Bank with no possible recourse as we don't have access to the Bank's records. Unless, you were at the counter at 10.01 am and still did not get the CB.

Then perhaps, you can be justified to ask BNM to do an audit.

hello is it true that uob cc if ur credit limit is 30k entitled for a free samsonite bag?
*
Very unlikely cos most CC only give 'free gifts' for either

1) New customers
2) Existing customer - must do Balance Transfer or spend > RMxxxx

There are many existing customers with UOB with CL > RM30K.

To give all of them a free bag will be very costly.

Make an official complain to BNM at bnmtelelink@bnm.gov.my.

http://www.bnm.gov.my/index.php?ch=en_abou...e&ac=96&lang=en

Make sure u list out the full facts, history, when u made the call (Date & Time, etc) with your Card Number, etc.

With regards to your Cash Back ("CB"). This is what u need to do.

Calculate what was supposed to be your CB every month since u got your Card

Petrol - 5% CB Capped at RM25 (or RM500 of petrol) )
Hypermarket - 2% CB Capped at RM30 (or RM1,500 spending
Mobile - 2% CB CB Capped at RM6 (or RM300 spending)
Pharmacy - - 2% CB No Cap
Remember there is also CB for Movies

Then add up and see if its more or less than what u got. To me, CB is normally not a round figure.

FYI, when I got my UOB, I always calculated manually and compared it to my Statement and it was always less. I had to call UOB every month, until I got feddup and send them an 'Official Complaint' and said that if it was wrong again the next month, I would make an official complaint to BNM.

After that it was correctly calculated.

i already spent it so that is why I am  vmad.gif I already filed a complaint to the bank. The descriptions are different for both credit transactions, so this is not considered double credit error.

refer to your statement.

Should have a standard clause that says

"Unless notified within 10-days, this statement shall be deemed to be correct"

Shoot it back to them

Good point.

Cant find the clause at the statement. Only from the customer side:

NOTE: The entries and balances shown above will be considered correct unless you notify UOB Call Centre at 03-26128 121 (Kuala Lumpur), 04-2401 121 (Penang), 07-2881 121 (Johor Bahru), 082-287 121 (Kuching), 088-477 121 (Kota Kinabalu) or email uobcustomerservice@uob.com.my for any discrepancies within 14 days from the statement date.

should argue that it is binding on both side.

Banks always have unfair clauses in all their Accounts

Going to say Goodbye to UOB. It was a good card to have before the stup1d T&C of first RM900K.

Perhaps for those who can still maximise the other categories like Pharmacies, GSC etc cos for Groceries @ 2% already lose to many cards which offer 5%
