I wanted to try Maybank too because my salary is credited through Maybank every month but my SA said Maybank has higher interest rate compared to others.
Not sure how true is that, you can try though.

You can try. My Maybank2Card was invited by them, called to offer me but I didn't go for them for loan.

If not, save another month for RM 1k?

Plotong car loan is the easiest, usually can do full loan at all with any banks.

It's not entirely a bad idea for MayBank if you have all the quality as you mentioned. However, interest rate is kinda anal, other than that their approval criteria is kinda insane as well. Bear in mind, bank greatly relying on their customer's debts to make profit. Hence, if you have clean credit card record, your bank is going to hesitate to lend you more. If you have direct salary banked into the same bank, rest assured the bank know your general ledger inside out, where you spend those cash, how many standing instruction monthly fixed expanses, all within their assessment. If you ask me as a bank officer, hell I will definitely do the same like Pubic bank, approve your loan at lower sum, make u shorten repayment with higher interest rate

On the contrary, should you smart enough to drag 1 or 2 months of your credit card, leave some unsettle balance in the car, like 200~300 debts all the time. You'll get loan approval immediately no question asked! I'm saying you should continue service a small debt, I didn't ask you skip payment. Skip payment will kena CTOS, loan will kena reject.

Well, I'm sorry. If it is your dad's suggestion, then ask him to help you out with RM 1k.

I will never suggest people to hold their CC payment just to get loan. Many get theirs with perfect payment record. The point is to have credit history, not necessary in debt.
