Hmm.....i think its legal and not prohibited to discuss about tobaccos here isnt it ?
So anyone taking any Rolling Tobaccos or Smoking Pipes ?
or other types of smoking ?
Just want to share and know more friends that interested in smoking rolling tobaccos (that 1 with many type of flavours) or smoking pipes
normally when i sitting in room i got nothin to do just take out my tobacco and mix them, its quite fun also
eg : coffee + vanilla + menthol = Kopipeng
i got plant some tobacco plant in my garden
sometimes i also diy tobacco like take the leaf and cut into fine piece, then add some flavouring, the smell abit weird cause still in into that
anyone got this crazy hobby like me or not ?

btw....i still not enter cigar stage yet
costs a big big big bomb for me if want to get a quality cigar
pipe is more affordable just the pipe expensive only
the rest all no problem, normal 1.5oz pack pipe tobacco can last quite long

Well, seeing that I'm overseas,
I've tried

Davidoff
Longbeach
Capri (yeah what a girl's ciggie)
Some flavoured ones, apple, cherry, etc

I started rolling too, we call it rollies here.
Can't remember what I used to roll though, but it would definitely be not be able to get in Msia or Aus.
Currenly in NZ =)

the longest from JLP is 6 inch x 43, Cazadores. but i think the JLP Conservas 5 1/2 inch x 44 would be a better choice niah. Somehow the first inch of Cazadores is nothing but thin smoke. laugh.gif

Hmm, gonna try Forsenca and Don diego nexttime. Seems like a good cheap cigar too. thumbup.gif

huh... 5 digit price for 10-15... shocking.gif

5 digit pricing = 10,000 ??? shocking.gif

Hmm normal premium cuban cigar cost around RM30- 80. While those "Ferrari" class cigar is around RM120-RM200. Like Cohiba siglo vi, around RM160 per stick if i remember correctly.

Those Arturo Fuente Opus X cigar cost more than RM200. And it aint Cuban. Dominican cigars. Neber try before. If i strike lottery then maybe will try that. Too expensive. laugh.gif

Hmmm, R&J....strong stuff. Lasttime i had a R&J tubo. Damn, can't handle them. Either that shop did not aged the cigar in the humiditor long enough before selling to customer or it is that harsh. Will probably put that brand last in my list of to try cigars. Well but different size do gives different taste. Other sizes of R&J could be good since they receive good review from others.

Good things about cigars is that, every inch u smoke, the cigars will gives u different taste. eg. The first inch might gives u normall tobbacco taste, then the 2nd or 3rd inch might suddenly develop some cocoa taste...etc etc..

Drum is a cheap and good tobacco
Bison also not bad
some tips for you to get rid the funny smell of drum and bison and get the nicer taste of it :

1. put the tobacco under hot sun for 3-5 hours

2. keep into a container (make sure it close tight) and put into fridge for 1 night (approx 8 hours)

3. take out from fridge and after the tobacco back to normal temperature then you can enjoy it with better taste

* from my tobacconist fren : he said these brand can so cheap because they cut down some steps to get the funny smell off (save cost)

hope this tips will help you =D
you can buy Stanwell Melange to mix with your drum or bison
i like it much last time
my formula is :
80% Melange 20% Bison

yours is Gizeh pump or roller ?
i have 1 Gizeh pump and Zig-Zag roller
currently only use roller cause the pump 1 cannot totally fill up the tube

its depends on the pipe size and type of tobacco
normally i just fill up around 40% tobacco in pipe
for slow burn tobacco it can last 20min like that, normal type is 10-15min
if i roll the slow burn tobacco 1 stick can last me 30-40min like that
you wont get addicted 1 for 100% real tobacco
after i totally change to tobacco, few weeks no smoke also nothin to me, wont feel like need it =p

hi ... smoker here...
I smoke ciggy, cigar and rollies also

I found that cigar is the best... 1 stick no need to smoke for whole day liao..
Last time bought some small cigar with filter 1... brand Magnum Vanilla... like it very much but exp ... 20 pcs for Rm30... ...

Rollie.. hmm.. want to try it later...
*
welcome welcome....20 pcs for RM30 you also blame it expensive =.="
then you have to visit the davidoff shop in KLCC
when you see the cigar and price your eyes will pop out for sure =p
rollies are the most fun for all
you can mix whatever you want to make it yer own taste
somemore the tar and nicotine are low until they not stated out there

Different lar. heheh, cigars taste is more complex than anything else. that's why more expensive. Davidoff cigars are overprice. There are a lot of good cuban cigars that doesn't cost an arm and leg. Rm20-30 can get a stick liao. laugh.gif

Cost u about RM50-70 per cigar
If u're regular, can get 20-30% Discounts

Where can i buy those rolling machine huh? Last time saw one at Lelong.com

that shop not i this kind of people go 1 =.="
wah....20-30% ?? quite high discount rate lerrr

for Rolling machine i think can get from any place that sellin rolling tobacco (in pack 1)
im not sure KL 7-11 or happymart got sell or not lar
but in penang they got sell
for standard size roller only RM10-RM15 only
for long size roller is around RM16-RM20 ??
Long rollies very cool when you smoke in coffee shop or lounge
but the problem is until today i still cant find a box to bring outside =.="

rolling machines? there are 3types so far that i saw:
1. simple one --->hard to roll the paper after u roll ur tobaco, need patient as well.
2. okeh one la ---> u roll ur tobaco, then put the paper in its place, then roll it up. it more easy than the first one
3. box one ---> u roll ur tobaco in the box (the box just like Digi satrter pack last time), then put ur paper (no need to roll at the back of the tobaco) then close the box, the cigarete then pops out to outside, nice jobs, hahaha

wow excellent mixture i can feel it
what type of roller you mean ? as the pic i show there ?
or you mean the box 1 ?
cigarette rolled with filter is the most cheapest cost for rollies
you try calculate (price that i get in here)
cigarette rolled with filter = RM6 for 100pcs
rollies's paper (normal) RM1
Liquorice paper = RM2
Filters 100pcs = RM5.50

im using the box type,i like domingo tobaccos for some reason i think they`re better than harvest anyday and its the same price..especially the vanilla flavoured ones..last night 7eleven out of domingo so i bought harvest mixedberries..smells good but quite skeptical about the taste when you`re actually smoking it..but amazingly upon lighting it up it tastes good smile.gif the first harvest that i actually like.i dont like smokingpaper papers..zigzag is ok but still the best is the one that is provided with the tobaccos

Sorry, didnt catch up with the thread.

Liquorice wrapper can be found around indian bookstore in sungei wang plaza and an indian bookstore opposite of Hotel Capital ( near low yat ).

They're selling at RM1.40 per 50pcs which is a Zig Zag.

Last time i bought the whole box from them for RM1.20 per packet.

Greetings guys. Didn't know this thread existed. Cool cool. I started out with Winston Lights, but my roomie and I experimented with rollies and got real hooked on. We used to roll with our hands and got real pro at it tongue.gif Till I got the roller, now hand skills not so good.

Anyhoo, I don't know why but Excellent doesn't do it for me. I love Harvest, but maybe should try some other brands. Darren, you seem to be a pro at this. What brand in the price range of Harvest would you recommend for rollies? Doesn't matter if got flavour or not.

I can safely say I've tried all flavours in Harvest. Still got the packs, gonna lay it out on a board and frame it biggrin.gif

P.S. - vickyrao, you're ex-MMUian right? Don't know whether you still remember me. What are you doing now, man?

welcome to 'tobacco world' wink.gif
im not pro lar =.="
just experienced it with buying most brand and range and get some advice from my sifu only
i found it there are very interesting about tobaccos so just see whether anyone got same interest with me or not =p

hmm...excellent doesnt do it for you...which flavour you tried for excellent ?
for excellent i highly recommend Kir Royal and Mango for strong room note and aroma
or other brand is Mac Baren, consider better quality for rollnig tobaccos if compared to harvest,excellent...etc
i also got collect the packets =p

http://www.mac-baren.com/BundMenu/Products-1.aspx
got 3 rolling tobaccos you can go to
Original Choice, Vanilla Choice, Cherry Choice
got a Formula for you :
50% Vanilla Choice + 50% Cherry Choice = Average
25% Vanilla Choice + 75% Cherry Choice = Stronger
75% Vanilla Choice + 25% Cherry Choice = Just Nice

maybe you can play with this and see which 1 you like it
for me i like the 3rd 1 tongue.gif

Sure thing, brother, will let you know. Tomorrow gaji masuk, so yay can stock up on tobacco!

For those staying at Kota Damansara, they should know that there is a new Uptown which opened over there. There are a few stalls which sell tobacco, pipes and stuff. Pretty good and a variety of choices, plus they open late at night, so you can go there and get if you're out of smoke 2 am in the morning.

If you don't know where it is, PM me. Malas wanna explain here and I gotta run now anywayz. Ciao!

If I'm not mistaken, they open from night to early morning. It's not a shop per se, it's a bunch of stalls which sell a variety of stuff, cheap, unique, creative stuff. Ask anyone staying around Damansara area for the new Uptown. It's in the area of Kota Damansara. They should know.

Today I wanna try out Excellent or MacBaren biggrin.gif Hopefully it's good rclxms.gif

Wah, baru found out here got such topic. Hallo everyone.

I am smoking ciggys now but I still prefer flavoured tobaccos as I am using SKL most of the time now(dunno you all know this brand anot?)

Would like to start rolling tobaccos now, as ciggy prices too high now.
Is there any starter kits for beginners like me?

Thank you in advance for letting me know.

Cheers smile.gif

Sure thing, man. Just drop me a PM whenever you're coming down. It's always nice to meet up with rolling buddies tongue.gif

Just got Excellent Mango as per recommended by you. Smoked two sticks, but I still preferred Harvest. I feel that Harvest is more rough to my throat which I prefer. Excellent is smooth. I know most people prefer a smoother cigarette.

I mixed with Harvest Caramel a bit and I found it nice. Gonna go get another Caramel to try different combinations. 'Coz when I mix it, the smoothness of Excellent is there, but the roughness of Harvest gives my throat the taste I want. Excellent indeed! tongue.gif

Oh dude, you can tahan SKL? Cannot wei, I really can't. Real weird aftertaste for me. I puffed one and passed the cigarette to a friend. Rollies are the way to go, man. Where are you staying? Just go to any mamak type bookshops, near the counter got lots of tobacco packs, rolling papers and rollers to be found. You just need a roller, tobacco and rolling paper. Filters are there too, but depends on you whether you want it or not. Roller also if you don't want, you can roll by hand, but need certain skills, if not rugi tobacco.

Tobacco should cost you around RM 11 - RM 13. Paper (50 stripes) usually comes together with the tobacco, if not you can get it for RM 1 - RM 2. Filters (100 filters) will cost you from RM 4 - RM 5. A decent roller (rolling machine) will cost you around RM 10 - RM 15. A pack of tobacco can give me more than 40 cigarettes. Depends on how you roll also. Don't pack it too much or else you can't smoke properly and you're gonna waste the tobacco.

Just google it, dude. You will find lots of stuff. Even got videos teaching you how to roll your own cigarettes. Cheers.

wah....i hate the roughness thats why i dislike harvest
but caramel is ok because its latest improved formula
harvest sales is dropping because of excellent
so if they still dont have 'caramel' version release i think excellent will overtake harvest's market
btw...you dont get the Excellent Kir Royal and the Middleton's Black & Mild ?

depends on what tobacco you taking
for the rolling tobacco...YES the taste will gone very fast
because most heavy nice flavour rolling tobacco is 'sprayed flavouring'
so the best is get a bottle that cannot 'masuk angin'
just like my 'tobacco storage' photo in 1st page you can see it
keep that way should be ok

You can easily get them from 7-Eleven outlets.

Of course, they are placed behind the counter because they only can sell to those above 18 years old.

You like caramel sweets ??? Then you're in for one hell of a treat. laugh.gif It has great caramel taste mix with tobacco.

Mostly I buy pipes and tobacco's at Pertama or Campbell Complex. I never tried Stanwell's tobacco before, perhaps lack of choices from shops that I used to go. Perhaps I will try it one day.........

yep no inhale
normal ciggy cant do that cause no kit at all 1
only original tobacco can
rolling tobacco,pipe tobacco,cigar.....all no inhale 1
if inhale you cant get the unique aroma
btw you all can give a try
dont inhale 1st....cause after inhale, you 'no inhale' also no use dee

did everyone here realize that some tobacco are very good smell, but after smoke like no taste 1 ?
you try no inhale see you can get the taste perfectly =D

My friend who rolls only does it because it is too expensive to buy pre-rolled ones (he lives in UK).

Over here, ciggies are so cheap for the pre-rolls, there is really no need to roll them yourself, unless you are into different or higher quality tobacco and such.

Well, i started to roll my own ciggies today. Tried to learn handroll first.

The taste kinda diff. with what i usually been smoking. Right now I usually go for Marlboro Light or Dunhill (Red) or Light. I dun know you all but after like 4 sticks I felt there is no kick at all but instead I felt nausea.

BTW, what i bought was a pack of Domingo Cherry from 7/11.

hi Darren and all others who is in this room,

A cigarrette, cigar, pipe, and rollies smoker here.. guess anything that boleh smoke goes.. hahahaa

Anyway, just FYI even rollies contains TAR & Nicotine, only the ones bought in malaysia they did not state only..

The ones that i bought from Europe and UK they will state, that if you use the normal paper and your rollies is what diameter what "mg of tar and nicotine is in that stick" and for king size paper and the diameter again " how much mg of tar and nicotine" is in that stick.

So i guess even though it is not stated in the packaging it is still harmful to health.

But you are right in the sense that cigarrettes contains alot of other "stuffs" compared to rollies as rollies concentration of pure tobacco is the highest.

what i guess is that our government tax and law on rolling tobaccos is not as strict or high compared to cigarrettes yet... cross my finger here.

hence they did not print the amount of nicotine and tar in the packet and rolling tobacco is still relatively cheap in m'sia...

Happy ROLLING mates!!!

Hi sifu nx7010,
yeah you're correct
they are contains tar and nicotine too but very less only
most of the imported brand got stated the % of tar and nicotine
for local 1...most of them not stated
luckily the tax is lower than ciggies
btw....sifu, what you smoke ?

how much does it cost to get started with erm, rollies is it? im new to smoking(currently on a hiatus due to fasting tongue.gif )
and how different is it from normal cgarrettes? interms of concentration of tar and nicotine, and also where can i get it? dont know anybody who rolls their own, heh
thanks in advance smile.gif
*
welcome to da house brows.gif
well...the cost for a roller is around RM10-15 for a better 1
for injector RM20 onwards
the different of rollies and cigs is ryo tobaccos are 100% tobaccos
if normally you smoke 20sticks of cigs, maybe it will reduce to 10-15 due to lower nicotine
many customers feedback after they taking rollies, they said their stamina even better than before
somemore can save money tongue.gif

Do we have to buy the full packet of tobacco to try out?, if don't like means wasted-la? got any smaller packet for sell not?

Tobaccos need to be stored in a sealed container not? what's the best condition to store them?

If smoke/try different type tobacco in the same pipe, will effect the taste not?

Added on November 7, 2008, 10:53 pmIs there any one trading with used pipes?

ya....no smaller pack...usually pipe tobacco comes in 50g pack 1
tobacco is highly recommended to stored in a sealed container in lower temperature
usually i keep my tobacco and cigars in my cupboard but after some times i move them to fridge
1. to keep them in moisture 2. to prevent the 'bugs' borned

smoke try different type tobacco in same pipe will affect the taste
so normally piper have more than 2-3 pipes with them
if you want prevent this thing happen, when you tryin tobacco with you pipe, try not to puff more than 3-4 puffs
then it should be fine

yep...pipes can reduce the problem cause the 'kit' can stands longer also
thick and strong taste ? for rollin i maybe can suggest you DRUM or Golden Virginia, price range is 14.00-16.00 like that
for pipe tobacco.....maybe you can try stanwell, wine berry, dutchmasters.....etc. cause pipes tobacco are too many varieties that you have to try for it
tobacco with leaf ? you mean the normal leaf from tree ?
green or brown colour leaf ?

therion : ya im in penang
cohiba cigars....maybe you can try queensbay mall ? or the shop at penangbowl building there

Bitter? Hum, never feels that cool2.gif. I think it's because the air intact with the cig. I only feels it "less" air than normal when I do that.

Have anyone love the Craven A and 555. In my city, people only get used to that two brand. It's hard when you smoke the cig that no one knows and it's heavier than normal cig. So I changed myself to Craven A now doh.gif.

Even i have 3 different type tabacco,
But the smell or taste almost SAME...
I just know stanwell vanilla alway BITE my tongue...
Gold & silver have nothing different,
Both of two also have a bit sweet feeling...
This is what i can feel for this moment...
Some more,
My saliva alway "FULL TANK" in my pipe and need to clean it when i smoke...

About is my pipe experience...

PS:How to ONE SHOOT LIT until the whole tobacco surface glow????

ya....tongue bite (spicy) also considered as a taste also
stanwell more tongue bite compared to macbaren
cube gold or silver....im not so sure
but many people goes for cube silver
one shot lite until the tobacco surface glow....usually is light 1st time, the tobacco will stand up, we called it tobacco dance
then tap it become flat and then light again and start smoking

fyi, heavy burning will cause your light off easily
try smoke in slowly and pull it longer
if burnin too much, use tapper to tap it become lighter
thats what i learned from my sifu

Thanks for your reply...
yesterday night i just brought mcbarenn cherry favorite,
More easily to light on...
Just don't know why,
when i smoke,
I didn't taste any cherry favorite,
All my mouth just full with CUBE taste only......

Again,
Tobacco it's just can njoy till half bowl only???
Because when i smoke till 3/4 bowl,
I feel the taste so "PAHIT",
Like "ARANG"...
Then should be clean out the tobacco???
some more,
How many bowl of tobacco we can smoke in ONE day with the same pipe???
Because i hear some one say,
After we njoying one bowl,
Must leave the pipe at least 48 hour to let the pipe totally COLD DOWN and make sure the pipe is in DRY condition...
Then just can njoy the next bowl...
He say again,
That why we need a lot of pipe to njoy multi bowl in the same day...
It's TRUE???

blablong : try not to smoke like a 'train' then should be fine
try in soft but long puff wink.gif

kuzgo :i've tried all the products that im selling and end up im smoking drum mild mixed with macbaren original RYO
2pkt of drum mild mix with 1pkt of mb original =D
what im trying to said is, original is da best ~
to be frank for original taste tobacco, they use the better quality of tobacco to make it, cause the taste we smoke is the original flavour from the tobacco leaves
but for flavoured tobacco different... no matter how good the quality of the tobacco leaf is, after spray on the flavour, what other flavour also totally get covered

but....smoke flavoured tobacco can attract more people...including chicks too ! brows.gif brows.gif brows.gif

yea darren, i agree. Original is King. but in my house, all my housemates roll their own ciggies, and we like to have multiple options around. Drum and Bison is our typical everyday tobacco, but once in a while buy extra packet to share of flavour or others. hehe

Last week my housemate brought back local rolling tobacco got flavour. NOT BAD. ^^

i know this 1 only...
1st, make your tobacco in loose form and put them into a bottle
add few drops of liquor and keep it for few days

but usually i just blend it with other brand or flavoured tobacco to get the taste i want =D
example :
coffee + menthol = kopi ais ~
coffee + menthol + vanilla = kopi peng ~

but dont mix strawberry + coffee or any weird combination
it will taste weird (unless you like it)....cause you dont put strawberry into coffee kua ?
hehehe

hi all...
wow.. i dunno this thread is exist...
well...after years smoking machine made cigar... early this year i move to handmade cigar... and i never comeback...

normally i smoke 1-3 stick per month depend on my budget...
and i only smoke cuban cigar for very special occassion..

people always talking about cohiba...davidoff and all the cuban stuff,of course they are premium cigar that very good and expensive... but i do believe there are plenty brand out there which is NC(non cuban) that is good and affordable... but because of malaysia does not have problem with cuba..so thank god we can smoke cuban cigar...but it make it kinda hard to find a good non cuban here except for brand like padron..oliva macanudo and don diego...

btw.. anybody knows where can i get a tatuaje, nub and room 101 cigars?do let me know... because as far that i'm concern...there no place i can find this brand here in malaysia...

so anybody want to exchange their experiance and knowledge on cigar..feel free to post it here... i would like to have a discussion about cigars...

hello guys,,,, a noob question here as i am a newbie... hehe... i wanna ask some noob question... if i wanna start smoke tobacco, izzit i just need to buy a pipe then mix all the tobacco inside it then just light it up ? And can i bring the tobacco back to my hometown by using plane because i don noe izzit illegal ?? hope someone can answer me plz...
*
hi,
yup..just buy a pipe that you like(small like a popeye or big and long like a gandalf its up to you)... choose several kind of flavor(cherry, vanilla, coco etc) which normally sell for rm7-12 per pack...and there you go...ah one thing..better got a torch flame rather than a normal lighter...it cause you aroudn rm8 at petronas....

i think u can bring along your tobacco product in a plane as long as its in personal quantity...

so have it a try... who nows what is your favorate flavor... my dad smoke pipe.. and i've tried it ...urm..not my cup of tea... hehe

Would like to know would it be cheaper buying cigars from airports like Dubai, Singapore or buy when arrive back at KLIA? They are tax free right?

Also what are the good cigars you guys recommend? Normal taste and maybe chocolate & vanilla.
*
1st..what kind of cigar we are talking here... a machine made or mand made... normally for a machine made they sold per pack of 5 or less.. and for man made they normally sell in a box of 10 or 25... there are also single that sell put in a tubos(glass or tin tube)... if you want to buy just a machine made..dont waste your time to linger around..because they also quite cheap out here...

recomended cigar? again you prefer a flavored cigar(machine made) or original taste?you can try a machine made cigar brand philies, they come with several flavor like vanilla, cherry, strawberry and grapes... or a villiger that has a hint of spice...it will cost you rm4.90-11.90 perstick...

or you can try a man made cigar...carefully rolled by torcedors... it can be a mild dominican cigar like don diego or..medium to full bodied cigar from nicaragua like padron and oliva...or if you got extra cash..you can get those premium cuban cigar like...cohiba...montecristo..partagas... etc...

in cigar world.. it doesn't matter what kind of cigar you smoke... just smoke what you like... other man trash can be the others man treasure... the code is.. respect the cigar, respect the smokers...

and if you want to smoke a handrolled cigar you need a cigar cutter or puncher because these cigar got cap ,so you need to cut it out before you can smoke it...

hi darren,

have you ever tried English pipe tobacco? I've heard it has good flavours. I am new to the art of smoking (even though I am a strong malboro red smoker since i was 14 years old), I recently learnt to properly smoke a cigar, and tasting the smoke in the palate.. and find the experience of tasting tobacco very fun! I compare it to tasting good red wine... Its not like smoking to get the nicotine high.. or drinking lots of cheap beer to get the alcohol high.. this is like smoking to enjoy a complex tasting session.. just as one does when drinking a glass of wine from a good year.. or a glass of old single malt whiskey from some scottish village... fascinating!!

Have you tried those local rolled cigars? the cheap ones u can get at the market from that old malay lady .. they are called "curuts" I heard those taste very good (if you know the right rollers)

i also tried several brand that made in bukit mertajam like curut cap ikan emas or cap teko and it cost you around 20 cent to 60 cent perstick.but i dont think its a hand rolled...

btw we do got a proper hand rolled cigar call de kayang, you can find it at it own outlet at ampang point, same row as dominos

give it a try... it may suit you taste... smile.gif

I'm into pipe smoking and got myself a Meerschaum Pipe some time back in January. This is a picture of it when it was still new. Now the meerschaum is brownish-yellow because it absorbs the tar in time.

My family knows I smoke for pleasure. In moderation is fine but if things get out of hand i.e. smoking continuously, then they'll just make me aware of the situation. I smoke the pipe average 3 times a day anyway...

Hi, i'm interested in smoking a pipe. Would like to know, how does it feel on the throat? Is it strong, rough feeling?

And what would I look for when buying a pipe?

Any tobacco to recommend for a newbie pipe smoker?

PS: I smoke winston reds, and some rollies occasionally.

Hi fellow rollies.. i'm an off and on rollie myself and i've been thinking to go permanent with this.. i've tried out marinating some regular excellent with coffee n tea before... interesting taste.. but now i'm quite hooked up to rolling my own clove ciggy (like those surya n sampoerna) with mint harvest.. too bad harvest's mint not too strong.. any suggestion for good menthol/minty rollie tobaccos, also, any suggestion on how to get the tips sweet? oh.. btw, closest tobacco i've had before that tastes almost like ur ready made one is West. comes in a paper can like tupperware, sealed.. smile.gif

Hi guys, new to cigars here. Im looking for a good cigar that's cheap, (maybe 12rm or so a stick) for casual smoking once a week or every two weeks. What's a good brand and type for me? I'm also not a heavy smoker, so prefer a lighter and smoother cigar.
Please let me know good brands and such, and places in KL/Ampang that sell them
Thanks!

hi,
1st of all need to know your taste... r u into flavored cigar? or a natural taste of cigar?

if flavored cigar.. i already mention it past few post.. like philies or swisher taht you can get easily from 7-11 or petrol station...

if natural.. then villiger is for you... price is between RM7.90-RM12.90..

if you are looking sumtin better... maybe de kayang will suit you.. try find "De Kayang Cigar" in the facebook... or try this link http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100...99577117&ref=ts

last time they got outlet in ampang point... now they just sell online...
a corona size will coast you Rm13...

have a try...

Asked them before. They don't have any.

mmm...nevermind. I was just getting them for collection purposes.

Darren, I am getting another pipe this weekend. What pipe do you reckon I can get for RM300?

Currently I have 3 no name briar pipes. Costing from RM100 -RM200.

Thanks.

Pipe tobacco or rollies? I think its a personal preferences.

For pipe tobacco, I personally like Erinmore Flakes (the room note reminds me of my grandfather's house), Mac Baren Vanilla Cream is nice too.

Been smoking since 14.... accustomed to smoking machine packed... now have been a rollie for a few months and machine packed just wont cut it anymore, uh uh uh uh uh... My faves are Drum Light Blue, McBaren line of tobacco and definitely not Harvest or Domingo... smile.gif Now i'm exploring the world of "rokok daun" a.k.a Traditional cigarettes..., which i have found that they have a large line of strength and taste.. from lite to hardcore... From giving pleasure to giving a mild buzz... tongue.gif Just found out bout this thread and hopefully more smokers will join and share... My favourite spot to visit for supplies is Kamelah Tobacco House in OU... A must visit for all the smokers... Looking forward to visit the spot at The Curve, lots of good reviews bout it...

The only rollies tobacco I've tried is Mac Baren Original Choice. Can't really describe the taste but weirdly its a little spicy (Virgina perhaps?). Didn't finish the pouch and gave it to a friend.

Sorry for not being much help LOL. I am just wondering will it be cheaper to smoke rollies compared to factory made ciggies? I am a heavy ciggy smoker too.

my friends said its great with wine, whiskey or cogniag but if really want to taste it..just plain water...

since i'm not drinking an alcohol... i usually pair it with plain water...with juice or mocktail at the side... because once you get a nicotine kick(a bit high) then u need sumtin sweet to counter that... sugar or sweet also can do the trick...

coffee(black/latte/ice blended) also went well...

actually its up to your preference... some stick went well with coffee..some are not...give it a try... thats what make it interesting...

don't bothers about others... if somebody bashing you because you smoke some kind of stick...then hes not acknowledge the cigar aficionado etiquette...

wah sama la... my first experience with monte no4 also like that... maybe if you get it a rest say... 3-4 months and try again...
some times cigar that we bought is either too humid or too dry... so its better we let them sit in the humidor for couple of weeks so stabilise the humidity... for example... last time i bought few monte no2,the 1st one i try upon arrival... not impressive at all... after 6 months i try another one... still not meet my expectation... last few weeks, after 2 years in my tupperdor, i lite another one... yummi!

sometime is just not your taste...then move on to another brand... i got one client who hate montecristo... so it just a matter of preference... smile.gif another man garbage may be another man treasure

just want to share few stuff from my mailing list...
QUOTE
Ashing Cigar 101

People smoking good cigars like to keep the ash on for as long as
possible. Indeed, a solid tower of ash is a sign of a well-made
cigar. But don't let the ashy end grow too long; this is both
pretentious and an invitation for a mess on the floor.

Every once in a while, just gently press the ash against an
ashtray. The ash should fall off easily without you having to tap
the cigar. If your cigar goes out, it's okay; this does not mean
you're a bad smoker. Just remove the ash, and re-light it.

Smoke the cigar for as long as you want. The only time you should
stop smoking is when it stops being enjoyable for you. When that
becomes the case, just set the cigar down in an ashtray; it will go out on its own. Do not grind it out, as that will produce excess smoke. Just take one last draw, set it down, take a sip of your drink, and revel in your smoothness.

I would like to thanks for your topic that few days ago i ordered electronic kit box from dhgate, but they sent me a defective box and delivery took long days. From then, i moved to Chinabuye, they delivered on time, with good service. The rates are much cheaper with no MOQ limit. They are both wholesale and drop ship all over the world. I am satisfied with them!

theres a way to use this
1st fill out the tobacco with same level with filter
then close and roll it for 2-3rounds
then roll 3 quarter of the paper in (while rolling the paper in, make sure another hand hold the paper and make sure it go in straight)
then apply water/saliva on the paper, reverse the paper until you can see half of the paper and then roll the paper in quickly
i've used this way for few years, hope this helps biggrin.gif

Dear sifu, just bought my first roller and tobacco at the curve. I bought the macbaren original, smell very good but after smoking like 5 sticks i cannot get the kick... you know what i mean?
Been smoking marlboro lights and mild seven lights for the past 5 years. Any suggestion on what other tobacco should i try? Also after smoking the macbaren original throat feel a little bit dry. and the shopkeeper recommended me raw rolling papers.

no kick ar.....i think you should go for something like van nelle, drum, golden virginia, old holborn....etc
then mixed up your macbaren original with it for flavouring
make the mixture ratio 3:7 will do (3 for macbaren)

Does it make my rollies have stronger feel? Cuz now after smoking rollies i still feel like lack of nicotine. the kick is not there. Is this common for new rollers like me that just switched over from pre-rolled ciggys?

it's hard to explain the feeling, lets say if im smoking marlboro lights, by the time i tarik the 3rd puff it feels good already, on my macbaren it feels like i tarik nothing.

yea....mb is more to smooth and milder type
tried those brand i listed above...they are more stronger
but overall, all rolling tobacco are lower in tar and nicotine compared to normal cigs
fyi, normal cigs contain less than 15% pure tobacco =)
and the most tobacco contain is marlboro (also not more than 15%)
you will love rollies once you get used to it
quite hard for me to go back to normal cigs after rollies =p

Really? Seems encouraging. Anyways i should get the brands u listed so when i tarik got more kick right? macbaren really don't cut it for me. btw what do you think about injectors? Caused i took more than 30mins to roll 20 sticks. Seems like taking alot of time and sometimes when rushing also hard. That's why i am thinking about injectors. But someone told me that the tobacco for rolling can't be used on injectors. Is it true?

glad that you like it rclxms.gif
i personally like van nelle
Drum is considered as 'halfzware shag' and Van Nelle is 'Zware shag'
so the zware shag flavour is much stronger
or you can try Golden Virginia, loved by most mat salleh too =p

market price for Erinmore 25g is increased to RM10 since i last worked for supplyin tobaccos
the price should be same if not mistaken....so 50g is just double the price of 25g so its RM20 =)

Hi, all.

I have smoked for many many years, hand-rolls, pipes, occasionally cigars but not often. Wanted to say there are some things about certain rolling tobaccos not being useful without special treatment for stuffers or injectors... Some tobacco is too moist out of the package and must be dried quite a bit to allow it to be used in an injector.

I am also looking for a local store here that carries pipe tobacco in bulk rather than packages, particularly "black raspberry" flavor. My favorite blend is called "Seaworthy" and it's 50-50 black raspberry and whiskey cavendish. Anyone know where i can find the black raspberry?

rolling... rolling... and still rolling.... smile.gif Cant turn back to smoking pre-rolled because it doesnt even come near to the pleasure that i get smoking RYO's... uh uh uh uh uh... tried Drum ( both ), MB Exotic, Vanilla, Original and Cafe.... Virginia... Theyre all nice... but my fav and most frequent is MB Exotic... I dont use machines or rollers because i roll huge ones... so per smoke will last me 4-5 hours before i get the craving ( pre-rolled lasts only 1-1 1/2 hours max )... I dont use normal smoking paper because i hate the "Paper" taste.. so i use mostly hemp and rice papers and those clear rolling papers for the "cool" factor...

hi, problem like this normally happen for short filler cigar(read cheap),its just a construction problem... as for a humid cigar... just expose to the air for quite a while before u smoke it..

some time i did what we call dry boxing... means... i'll take out a few cigar that i want to smoke from my humidor, few days before and put it inside a box without any humidification devise... just want to make sure that its not to humid that will ruin my smoking experience...

hi, problem like this normally happen for short filler cigar(read cheap),its just a construction problem... as for a humid cigar... just expose to the air for quite a while before u smoke it..

some time i did what we call dry boxing... means... i'll take out a few cigar that i want to smoke from my humidor, few days before and put it inside a box without any humidification devise... just want to make sure that its not to humid  that will ruin my smoking experience...

Hi gurus,

I just want to ask if anyone can recommend some cigar brands for some casual cigar smokers. For celebrating and will probably pair with a Green Label for drinks.

Price range, hopefully won't need to spent more than RM300 for a group of 8-10 people.

Thank you for the recommendation. I think RM26-RM33 is still affordable for me. I'll try to keep an eye for this as well. Do they sell these Padron's at the 7-11 or in more 'higher' end shops?

Added on June 23, 2011, 10:31 pmDarren, I think I should wait until your shop got poker. Btw Mr Saw of KV Tobacco mentioned he knew johnsson pipe maker

macbaren is carry by yuen trading all the time, but sincere match took over and changed the packing to the same size with harvest (longer)
supposingly the smaller packet should be nicer compare to the new 1
maybe you bought from the shop that not well keep the tobacco ?

Ohh I see. Because tis year only i started to roll own ciggie and all these while i got the longer packaging. but even my colik(old timer rollies) said he got the smaller package mac baren recently and it taste massam (sourish). hahaha.

Then last tuesday i brought a pack(different shop) and got the smaller packaging oso. Upon opening, can smell it is kinda musky similiar to golden virginia smell. When roll one and smoke, the taste is full body and dont have/minimal woody scent i got from the longer packaging. Even room note, the longer packaging smells better. sweet woody scent. just my preference. would prefer the yellow golden virginia if i want a fuller smoke. Else, still like the longer package mac baren.

Ohhh the golden viginia tobacco. smells like cigars. Yummy. Gonna stock some of it. hahhaa.

Ohh did i mention, OCB paper the bestest paper around. hahaha. of course the RAW paper also. but RAW paper a bit leceh for me because i was using box roller. So need to cut it shorter. These slow burning 'tracing' paper is awesome. Feel like smoking cigar. LOL. not like those regular paper that churn out smoke like bas kilang. laugh.gif

then i think the tobacco is not fresh already....since most of them smaller 1 are old stock

ocb paper is slow burnt paper
if you prefer something slow burnt and even more cool, i got transparent paper
it looks like plastic but its made from vegetables
i bought myself a box but unable to finish it
willing to share with anyone who interested in it
you can google for 'job crystal papers' for the photos and infos =)

actually tobacco is same like food, its depending on each person's taste
for me, golden virginia is okok cause it got 1 type of raw taste i dont really like =p
but if compared to flavored tobacco, i prefer original (but not bison or domingo/harvest original)

How much does Van Nelle cost per pack? I suppose that Van Nelle is a ready made cigarette right? Sorry for asking so many questions. For the past 12 years, I only visit mamak stall to buy cigarettes..

then i think the tobacco is not fresh already....since most of them smaller 1 are old stock

ocb paper is slow burnt paper
if you prefer something slow burnt and even more cool, i got transparent paper
it looks like plastic but its made from vegetables
i bought myself a box but unable to finish it
willing to share with anyone who interested in it
you can google for 'job crystal papers' for the photos and infos =)
*
bro im interested, where did you get your transparent paper? I've been using RAW paper all these while.

I buy van nelle tobacco rm18 regular customer price per pack, use laramie 80mm ultra slim cigarette tubes 200 per box cost rm15, 1 pack tobacco can make 80+ sticks means rm0.30 per stick, i use injector which is more fast n convenient but the disadvantage it is fast burning paper, avoid to buy kingsize cigarette tubes, waste more tobacco of it. Btw, i'm staying in east Msia, cheaper price in kl?

Anyone know where I could get organic/natural rolling tobacco and paper? Something that is free of additives or pesticides, etc. I've heard that the stuff they put into our commercial cigarettes are completely evil.

It seems the brand 'American Spirit' is natural, so if anyone knows how I could get this brand or any other natural tobacco, please let me know!

eh why nowadays smokers thread not moving eh? sweat.gif

anyways, for pipe smokers.

i recently tried out peterson's summertime 2011.

i have to say that this is one superb tobacco. it's tasty, and smooth. not much tongue bite. room note is very pleasant as well. with hint of black berries and black currents.

even non-smokers around me love the smell. kinda cool to smoke and not have people complaining how stinky i am. haha.

here's a link for those interested.
http://www.danishpipeshop.com/product.asp?product=756

available in kamelah.

still have a peterson special reserve 2011 in storage. will review it once i actually open it up. maybe after i finish the summertime. rclxub.gif

our company used to be pg distributor
supplier send us the transparent paper and ask us to sell it
but we know it confirm cannot sell here due to the size is totally different, its much longer and need to cut it by scissors
since its been invoiced, so i just keep it for my own use lah
hahaha

it can be stronger taste compared to the rest cause its zware Shag (full zware) and those like Drum...etc are just halfzware shag
the best time to smoke van nelle is after dinner, best-nya ~ rclxm9.gif

monoeye : Peterson pipe tobacco i like connoisseur's choice
now i left 1 tin that i keep it for 3years ++ already
the taste will be greater and nicer the longer you keep biggrin.gif

monoeye : just keep it inside the original tin, it is air tight
but make sure you dont always open it up, open once in a bluemoon to let the tobacco breath (so do i, to enjoy the aroma smell tongue.gif)
now still not yet dry ah....so many years already biggrin.gif

h11g : but that 1, when starting to smoke is ok, after few sticks then it got nothing special already = ="
thats why i need alot type of tobacco in my storage tongue.gif

LookOut! : bro....Zen is stop in Malaysia market
all those remaining stock they give us lelong all already ~
now i still got a pack of blueberry and 2 peach with me
pm me if you interested tongue.gif
but dont know why zen hard to sell here....RM5.50 with a booklet of paper (50sheets)
although its 21g, but if calculate with the paper, it is dirt cheap man
hahaha

Try with the cardboard tip instead of filter. That day I smoked at Embershoppe.. I had to sit down, like a hammer to the back of my head rclxub.gif
