I really love it optimize the S-Pen this time, I love those features.

Not the screen size, I hope it is 6" at least.

4K Video already can play in my XZU, recording is not really attracting me.

And I really love it use faux leather in the back.  icon_rolleyes.gif

Awesome review with some nice close up shoot!

Beside the look like Aluminium side, Xperia Z1 came with long bar loud speaker, look & feel premium.
Overall the loudspeaker sound not really loud, but ouput quality not bad, especially the bass part is strong.

Even though Z and Z1 look kind of similar, but no doubt Z1 is another 2nd time solid design.

user posted image
Real shot of Z1 in black, white and purple. It look and feel premium when using it.

user posted image
Z1 main attraction feature is the Camera. This 20.7MP, Aperture F/2.0 and 1/2.3 sensor Sony G Lens together with Sony own camera engine, as well expandable attachable lens. Eventually became the strongest Camera Phone in market.

user posted image
Z1 is weigth at 169g, can feel the weight when hands-on, and do feel tired after long use. Not sure the weight is because of the lens use or not. By the way, no doubt Sony design is truly working with heart, the purple version look extremely striking and beauty.

Front Camera comparison - Nokia 1020 v/s Sony Xperia Z1 v/s iPhone 5

user posted image
Due to Front camera is one of the main attraction now, we also compare the front camera of Nokia 1020, Sony Xperia Z1 and also Apple iPhone 5.

From sample, it is obvious Nokia 1020 front camera a lot of noises. Sony Xperia Z1 having some face beauty effect, where else iPhone 5 still stay strong and stable output.

RX100 sensor is 1 inch, twice as big as the 1/1.5 in 1020
Z1's sensor is 1/2.3, very common in compact digital camera.

yes. it is not easy to insert a big sensor into a thin device like Z1, as you can see the 1020 is thicker, and there is a camera bump as well.

from the sample comparison above, the 1020 is clearly better, maybe sometimes z1 is better in certain condition, but overall, Z1 is still better. it has better screen, more open operating system, better desgin imo, more resistant to elements, faster in processor.

i see one downside for Z1 though, at 169g, it is quite heavy for a 5inch device...

Don't find weight is an issue. 169g, not 300g tongue.gif

Good point. WP8 OS still have a long way to be like iOS/Android

Nokia 1020 is better in camera.

But Windows Phone make it not worth to decide anymore. For me, I feel Nokia 1020 only good in camera. That it.

Does anyone think that the bottom bezel is a little too thick for a top tier phone compared to the predecessor ? Maybe that explains the larger 3000mah battery. Other than that , the back looks stunning , only the front looks a bit mid range-ish look which might turn off some of the potential buyers. wink.gif

The Top & Bottom bezel do tick, but at least it still nice in look.

The part I really cannot accept is the side bezel which is too tick and make the whole phone screen look even tiny.
