hello, for those who handwash their own jersey, usually how much detergent you add and how long you rinse it before putting out to dry?
cause when I do so the detergent never seems to completely washed away from my jersey (water still got a bit of bubble after rinsing many times) so I always wonder whether I got wash properly or not... lol
Never use liquid detergent as these could mess up the fabric hence rendering them less effective. Not sure about which brand your jersey is but for Nike, it is recommended by them that their jerseys are to be washed with powder detergent only. Liquid detergent may clot up the micro holes on the fabric causing the "sweat wicking" ability to reduce tremendously.
I usually use no more than one table spoon of powder detergent even if i sweat in it because the fabric doesn't really absorb sweat. My objective is to get rid of any possible body oil on the fabric (which is not much) and that's it. We don't want to thin the fabric as well.
Soaking it in for about 5 to 6 minutes and then rinse lightly without twisting it, just gentle squeezing it until it is relatively dry and this can be achieve very easily as these fabric don't absorb water. After that, just put it in the washing machine to spin dry (on light mode).
Hang it in my room with the fan on to dry. Remember to use the right hangar as too thin a hangar may leave "hangar marks" on the shoulder of the jersey which is horrible. It's very hard to even out these "marks" even by ironing.
That's it.
