No, you don't.

What are the hardware and software requirements for Samurize?
Samurize will run under Microsoft Windows 2000/XP/2003. It requires a video card that has hardware support for alpha blending in Windows (nVidia Geforce 1 or later).
Note: The taskbar client is not dependent on the type of video card because it does not blend to the desktop.

Any Noob Tutorial to start with?

and the software also seems like download the cover from internet one... i just want to search the cover in my local folder for itunes whenever i play the song.. not download from internet sad.gif

I believe, all the basic functions will be working fine inter-versions. But those that we heavily customized, such as display characteristics or button functions, will make the Samurize crash.

I tried my own set of config from version 1.62 in version 1.64 last nyt, n it also crash when i click the next button for my winamp config. more customizations are in progress... wheee~ rclxm9.gif

the other way to make it recognize chinese album.. rename all your album to english words... that's very troublesome... sweat.gif

btw, how to export everything with every icon or image or additional plug in??
i export mine before reformatting my com, then after i reformat, i import back the config, but some images and some plugin or folder is not included in the exported file....

Yeah, I normally do wat Fariz suggested for personal backup... but use export to transfer all the configs n stuff to another machine. uhuhu

yup... i did that before too...
but after some time, the whole folder become very messy, coz i m trying a lot of other config,testing and playing around and merge into my config if i found it useful....
so if its possible to export it correctly and wont miss out anything, then the folder wont be a mess...

@r4ydc24: thats wut i forget to do.... forget to test it before formating the drive....
but if i found out that its not export completely, how do i export those file that i left out??

It works for my winamp... but not foobar

Regardless, I'm going to try a clean install now...

EDIT2- Ahhhhhh I have found the culprit... the entry "InstallDir" is not in my registry.. added it through regedit, reinstalled and all is well now thumbup.gif

Sorry for double-posting .. but I'm having trouble with AMPI...
Firstly, getArtistName doesn't work for one particular artist... but getalbumcover only works for that artist..
I've tried getAlbumCover on other artists but the Config Tool kept crashing! Whenever I clicked on Test Function it'll crash...
getArtistName worked though..

but this particular artist, getAlbumCover worked for him but getArtistName didn't...

I've checked the tags.... this is so weird .....

I have that problem too, for certain artist. For example, Jewel. getAlbumCover will crashed on WMP, Winamp and foobar2000

No change made to the config. Only after I upgraded to samurize 1.64, this problem emerges.

edit:

found a temporary solution, use latest AMPI plugin with samurize 1.63

try the sample of each plugins before asking. the plugin author (uziq)is really nice he even include a sample config for each of the plugin.i love the page scrapper function its because with it i now can scrape like any websites eventho it doesnt have a rss content. heres my news widget

i also use the commandbox,configregion,textfx (a must),notetaker,calendar and moar. right now i just started using the menumaker plugin. not that beautiful compared to shortpopup but very fast repond time. heres an example

try to surf around the beta forum for some hidden gems.

Taskbar Plugin - very nice tool if you want to totally replace the window's task bar. too bad the systray plugin is half baked. not that functional. so still have to stick with object dock XD

if im not lazy i'll post one or 2 configs / widgets later on.

I've deleted everything related to Samurize (even in registry), installed 1.63, and then pasted 1.64's AMPI into the folder..
tried it and it crashed again...

create a shortcut and put it in Startup folder , that's how i did mine..
maybe there's a way to enable the function load up whenever u start pc , not sure though.

why dont you use the instance manager? its wayy easier to manage you samurize configs thru there. take a look on the tutorial that i've uploaded.

as for tempreture you can try use NccWarp9 's ACPI_CPUTemp and see if it works. imho its better to use MBM as its much more flexible with any type of motherboard.

thansk. yeah, a monitoring program is compulsory. how else would sammy get the temps? tongue.gif

personally, i like using speedfan. MBM is large and by this time, quite outdated [assuming no one has 'taken over']. speedfan on the other hand is lighter and more versatile. i think i saw people submitting plugins that lets samurize read temp readings from the asus probe. as for abit, its uguru were among the other factors the MBM creator quit. laugh.gif

heres the current memory usage of my samurize clients

the biggest ( 17mb) would be the pagescrapper plugin. that is because i decide to put a shadow like desktop whenever the plugin is up (some what like yahoo widgets effect ) if not it shouldnt get bigger than 10. the 10mb will be my samurize task bar as theres alot of plugin there that runs at real time (network up/down , uptime, mail checker, a pagescrapper, foobar display) . the rest i set is pretty much small (calendar,slideshow,notetaker,bitcomet)

my system spec is p4 2.4 512mb ram. so far no problem with gerenal performance.

I have a problem. the plugin for advanced media player, if I'm using windows media player and play a file written in Kanji (Japanese of Chinese), it will return "?????" instead of the unicode. Foobar works okay.

not sure if samurize fully support Japanese & Chinese lang tho... I renamed all my Japanese songs into Romaji.. ahahahhaa. Easier to use the JUMP feature in winamp...

hi guys.. i made this "taskbar" so that it'll cover my secondary monitor.. but then i found out that when i maximized any windows, it'll won't get to the very end..

i got this world cup widget from samurize master uzu (skins by me, template by danillOc).. it was made using the PageScrapper plugin.. now i'm trying to 'dissect' the widget and hoping that i can make my own weather (and many others )widget.. wish me luck thumbup.gif

here's the *.ini file [link].. all the data will be retrieved from the fifa webpage..

p/s: i think i screwed up something when i tried the import/export tools coz suddenly my laptop hand and now i feels like the widget takes quite sometime to load (or maybe just my laptop).. give it a try and let me know, ok??

make ur own config file and use the AdvancedMediaPlayerInfoPlugin.dll.
This will automatically work with WMP, Foobar and Winamp.

that is LCD font something cant remember. but just use the font and make it double layer as ray say it.try search for the font around. cant find it in my rig. get me the font and i'll whip up a quick one laugh.gif

Well mine looks quite ok, and only problem is when the minutes goes to 11 or 10 it'll look disposition. but thats because the font.

let say now i'd got the album cover + some advancemediaplayerinfo plugin config ready,
izzit possible to make 'em visible on the desk only when the media player apps has been executed?.. n going to invisible back once closing the apps..

2) go back to "general" tab, change "Draw type" --> "Image"

You can use ObjectDock Plus, or if you insist on using samurize you need to create a tab and a menu, and set the menu to appear when you click on the tab....

Anyone know how make rating like the one in CD Art Display using Samurize? I can get the rating from foobar using ampi but I dont know how to make it display in stars, just can get it display in 1,2,3,4,5

Make sure you have iTunesSamurizeInfo.dll in itunes folder. It's provided with the samurize installer, you need to make sure that you have the plugins checked when you install it.

Huh?? its the same meh?? Samurize and avedesk's plugins..?? Anyway, i have checked my itunes... The plugin is there inside the "plug-ins " folder.. But it is still not working...

as for avedesk, most probably you're missing avetunes

I don't use itunes, that's the best I can think off..

Post #1 has been updated with Cure2k3 installer. Simpler program created by the same team dat created Samurize.

i'm using the weather.2004 plugin. my current temperature in samurize show 28c but according to weather.com, its 26c. why is there a difference? how often does the plugin updates/retrieve info from the weather.com??

i'm also using the infobar by fariz. my upload is equal to download and is always 7 or 6kbps. if i load a page, it fluctuates to 10 and the go back to 6 again, although the page is still loading. it looks like it is not indicating the correct speed. why? anything wrong?

it is not an icons.it is only text-wannabe-icon(i also dont know to call it tongue.gif )

i use Van Helsing font to create that thing.

so in samurize u just add text and choose whatever font do u like and for the input put the link u want that text to link for.

like ijat84 said, u can use another software to create the "dock" thing.

for me i dont like to use too many softwares for my desktop mod.

too many softwares can reduce ur pc perfomance.

Thanks in advance. And sorry if there is topic posted before about my question, I did browse through for the whole day but don't really understand. sweat.gif I'll start off my questions from here :

I'd configure some shortcut in my desktop and it's working. My question is when I click on it, the window will open in small window. I wanted to set it as maximize (like how we can set it in ObjectDock). Is this setting possible in samurize?

Can I know the right setting for monitoring my CPU usage like the one in Task Manager under Performance tab please? (Under Source tab in samurize which one do I choose?)

What about monitoring the processor temperature? (I am using Intel C2D). And the motherboard temperature? (I am using Gigabyte DS3). Not forgotten about the hdd temperature too.

Can I have a right click option on those button that I've created? (I'd created a button for Recycle Bin and I wanted to perform right click > empty recycle bin)

And last but not least, I really need help on how to build the whole media player. I've got the skin but I got no idea where to start. A step by step guide is much needed and much appreciated. (I am using WMP 11) icon_question.gif

I am looking for a vertical theme that can display all my PC info such as memory usage, network usage, HDD usage, CPU/GPU temps. Also weather if possible but not that important. And any other important system stats.

So far, I found best software to use is samurize and avedesk. I would prefer samurize cause it runs better.

I am looking for a theme or dock or whatever you call it that is suitable for dark windows theme. I have browse around samurize site but there are so much things there that I am confused. Would appreciate if someone could tell me what kind of plugins to download from samurize to create what I want. I see some people install like 4-5 plugins which I dunno why.

So, any theme gurus out there can help? Even using samurize theme is a little dodgy for me. So much options. How do those people customize those gorgeous looking themes anyway?

abubin, if I am not mistaken vertical theme could be done using TextFX plugin included in PluginPak.

Yes the best software will definitely be samurize and avedesk as for now. Preferring to use which one depends on how you want to customize your desktop and which one will make your life easier and of course, the theme that you wanted.

Actually you can change just any theme to dark theme or to get any colour you want. The point is, with the program you can change the colour of the font, and themes come with skins, where you can easily adjust your desire colour in photoshop.

There must be a reason installing plugin. Different plugin generate different functions.

Being a beginner is always dodgy. But at the same time that is how you learn too, of course if you're lucky enough to have somebody to guide and willing to do research by yourself.

Since samurize is flexible enough and could do just anything that you want (depends), so creating your very own theme which met your satisfaction is isn't difficult at all with some sacrifices of time and concentration. smile.gif

abubin, I wud suggest u to download dat TextFX plugin s well.. I tried using it last year n it works as I expected.. however, there is an nitty gritty issue of anti-aliasing on the text especially when we place it at 45 degrees.. not sure if i'm d only one who sees the text as being a lil bit jagged... givvit a try n do update us with it.

bluesky87, personally, i neva bumped into any tutorials regarding ya popup window feature (resizing).. earlier, I only tried to make my "my computer" pop up from the samurize-made link... it popped up in a standard size (not full screen)...

Mine work, as long as the album cover is shown in WMP, it will show in Samurize. Make sure that you rename the album cover as Folder.jpg in the mp3 folder.

if u re-place the thingy on other than the designed place, u must deselect the "use designed position". right click on tray > position > use designed position. then u can set to locked position.

or u can edit the config, and set the thingy on any place u wanted. more systematic. thumbup.gif tongue.gif

yeap, u should position it properly in the config tool instead of dragging the setting all over ya desktop... coz once u boot up, it will refer to ya config setting primarily, before going over other misc settings.

want to ask 1 question regarding samurize, let say i use 2 instance/config file, is it in the tray icon will appear 2 samurize icon? because right now i'm using vista sidebar v3 by halfwayglad for the 1st config and i add one instance, zune player for 2nd config...and on my tray icon, it appear 2 samurize icon...hope someone can clarify this matter..

Under the "Input control" section, click on the "Click option:" drop-down menu and select "itemlink". Next, type in the corresponding item number at the "Item:" blank space. Click on "Save" after that.

1. Now, click on the "Input" tab.
2. Place a checkmark on the "Allow Input Controls" checkbox. Click the "Add" button.
3. Select "Plugin Input" and click "Next".
4. At the "Select Plugin:" drop-down menu, select "saRSS.dll" then click "Next" again.
5. Place a checkmark on the "Left Mouse Click" checkbox. Then, click "Finish".

Repeat the above steps for each of the item title.

u can hv all dat in 1 config actually! try to use the config tool. if u downloaded the config and still want to add more stuff(meter) in it, config that skin, and add your custom config. or u can import/copy other config in it. thumbup.gif

in ur case, u can use the config tool > copy all the meter > paste them in any config u want to use. thumbup.gif tongue.gif

i'm such a noob (lol, 16 years old only) ... ^^; i just figured out that you need to create new instances to allow multiple configs to be used at a time... editing the configs is quite confusing for me.. i'll try to edit the configs.. fit everything into 1 config.. if something goes wrong, i'll seek help here.. smile.gif

My customized config. Original config is em7's Water Element. I added battery meter & weather (Torsius's Weather 2004 plugin).

Not sure if it's due to the Speedfan for temperature, or the Weather plugin or just plain too many meters, my config is slow to load, and sometimes, will even hang suddenly. When it froze, it will hang my desktop together, although I can still use other applications normally (e.g. browser, Win Explorer, Task Manager, etc). Had to kill client.exe and restart Samurize. sad.gif

i cant realy say dat I kno where exactly u can debug. but d rule of thumb is to do unit testing.. try running every config separately... datz how u can check for any anomalies in d settings.

owh, dunno bout u guys, but i prefer to look at ppl's config s a reference instead of embedding them inside my config. dat way, we can understand the settings better... n mebbe, datz y it take me more time to come up wif a new config... ahahahaha. sweat.gif

anyone knows why my VLC player doesn't show any video when Samurize is enabled? I've tried using WMP to play the vid.. no problem at all... but with WMC... same problem as VLC... it's not the config problem.. because I've tried many other configs... and all the configs make my VLC siaw... sad.gif really need help here.. cry.gif

I got similar problem when I have my objectdock on the above or upper-right of my screen. Blank WMC/VLC but the sound is there... same thing happen when Samurize is enabled hence I don't use Samurize in my PC for now.

Check if you've enabled "hide when another app is fullscreen" under "position"... That blacked out my full screen Winamp Vis... Maybe it screwed video acceleration... icon_rolleyes.gif

But keep in mind I'm using Vista, Your Mileage May Very... sweat.gif

It's fun trying to make Samurize run with admin rights (so that all the sensors would work) under Vista though... Seems that even the Samurize people are still puzzled about how to go about doing it, last I checked anyway... thumbup.gif

I'm more of a minimalist, so a basic text + colour bar performance monitor config for me, plus calendar (ah, 2MB memory use, take that Vista Sidebar!)... Haven't gone around to graphic'izing my configs yet... icon_rolleyes.gif

any image can be used for the clock background. just look for one or u can create ur own.. then u'll just need to add the clock meter

just use the print screen button on the keyboard then paste it in any imaging software. it'll do fine

Facing this stupid error here,when i play a song..the song name will differ from the picture shown..anyone mind helping me out with it?by the way,is it because i didn't used the foobar?

make sure your song is properly tagged. and remove any embeded album art from your songs. to make sure you get the correct album art, it is better that you find the album art yourself, then put it your song folder. the config will read any images from the folder and display it.

do you guys experienced any bugs in SAMURIZE?

i am using smurize v1.64.3..after all my customization n using it for a few weeks..

i notice that when samurize is running..we want to drag a windows for example "gtalk chat window"..
on the desktop..it's feel a bit lag..juz when the desktop is ur background..and also the image do not
become smooth.. [my graphic card:X1400]

but when u open such as mozilla in a maximize window, then u drag the same small window
again..and it's normal...

that's y i feel dat samurize maybe may have a few bugs..can sumone tell me this?

is there anyone try this thing out? juz wanna if it juz me..

tq..

p/s : if there any way to fix it, let me know..coz i dunt use samurize for a time moment bcoz of that..

hmm, try to change the CPU priority for your config.

edit config>project options>CPU priority

change it to Low or Idle. i'm running my configs under Low CPU priority. to save CPU resource and to prevent lag. no choice, but i'm still running on P4 1.7ghz with 768 RAM. that's why have to use the lowest settings.

hmm, try to recreate the config from scratch. use my config as a sample to guide you. maybe that would help. by the way, does the volume slider has an indicator? the volume knob i mean.

hmm, with your specs the lag should be barely noticable. even with my old rig the lag isn't that obvious. only sometimes when alot of apps are running, especially photoshop. yeah, probably the refresh time affects it a bit. oh yea, try to use minimal plugins in your configs. don't bloat your config with too many plugins. that will sure cause your system to experience sudden high CPU usage.
hopefully you won't quit Samurize just because of this few minor issues. smile.gif

yeahh.. the interval refresh thinggy will stress ur processor coz the latency update very small, i mean when u reduce it from the default 1000ms

try put back to default value, prob will solve smile.gif

oh, there's a simple trick to do that. you'll need a plugin call turnImage.dll. rotate your album art using that plugin and overlay it with gradient (create one using photoshop). thats all. smile.gif

How about this, this is my mod, still on the earlier stage:

( the sidebar is other software). The top is the Winamp though. I include some status monitoring around (small small one). The icons at the right is folder shortcuts and the game images are games' shortcuts.

Though, how I can make button rollover effect ? I no good in Java and VB though ...

U can make one using the config tool or u can download one. I recommend aqua clock which is a nice digital clock with day and month

erm..wondering is there some plugin to quick jump in playlist.. hehe..sometimes i minimize Foobar to tray and lazy to bring up to change song played..so just wanna jump to certain song thru samurize interface on desktop... is there?

if u mean skipping by play the next song..i dont want that..it's like this..lets say i have lots album..and now playing 1 song from an album, what i want is to skip to the song that i want to hear from another album. can just use quicksearch in foobar..but i'm searching another one that i can just put it somewhere on my desktop n type the song name that i want to hear..

urm.. I dont know if this gonna works, but have you set the config to "Pin to desktop"? By logic, it wont interfere with any window opened.

Hurm, I guess that's can't do? I use the latest graphic card driver and the latest codecs though. But using Windows Media Player 11 can view full screen though.

Ok, I got the idea.

To do this, please run Instance Manager. To access Samurize Instance Manager, just right click to the client icon and click on Instance Manager. In the window opened, do click on the client you wish to have the desired settings to be applied and then click on icon with Pencil which says "Edit Instance". From there, you need to click Lock Position, Use designed position and Dock Samurize Top

i guess that's not because of samurize but the mpclassic itself (k-lite codec)..i also cant view video in full screen if now window "covering" those samurize config..weird heh?

why dont u try GOM Player? i think it's quite good.. =p so many options available on run-time, while playing the videos.. i like how it can manipulate subtitles while playing.. hehehe...

gom player is a very good video player.. am now using it.. think that its good enough for me.. watch animes,movies, even youtube flv format videos... then it should solve your problem..

yup..it's very good! but the only problem for using GOM player is when playing hi-def movie..h264 encode, *.mkv..video always lagging..it's ok with MPClassic.. icon_rolleyes.gif

no, i don't think it's possible. the plugin requires msn to be running so that samurize can fetch and display info from it if i'm not wrong.
sorry, but most of the samurize plugins are kind of like enhancement to a certain software only. it's not a standalone application. you'll still need to run the actual application to allow samurize to retrieve infos from it. icon_rolleyes.gif

hey guys, I got a problem with my samurize clients.

So, I had the Windows Vista sidebar for Samurize installed. Ran the clients (more than 5 clients in one time) and set them to run on startup. So, as the days goes, I got bored with the sidebar. Then, I just re-edit each of the clients to not to run at startup and exit the client each one of them.

But, on the next day, after booting up my PC, the clients still there (on the taskbar) which more than 5 clients logo all lined up in the task bar. But, the clients are not showing their configs on the monitor though. So, what should I do to get rid of the client logos in the task bar? Its really annoying to see 5 same icons lined up in the task bar you know..

hmm.. there is an option in samurize.. tick 'change mouse cursor over'... the cursor will change to hand like shape when over a shortcut.. is that what you want?

hehe, you don't have to create 5 configs. make copies of the configregion plugin and rename them to configregion1, configregion2 and so on.

ermm..i dont have problems to toggle different regions like the pic attached..if i click "purple" it show/hide purple region and so on the green button and region.. but if i want to put the green region and purple region to show/hide at the same spot, then i have to stack both green and purple at the same region, but it will show the result of the stack one, whichever the region is on top.. rite?

it depend on the config..
i'm running 6 config with no problem at all..no performance issue..
coz my config is just shortcut and some media info only..so can set option to use low cpu resource and also higher update interval.. icon_rolleyes.gif

Thanks for the heads up. Right now only dare to samurizing and changing wallpaper. Don't ask me why.

By the way, can anyone tell me how (how should I say this..?) to make shortcut for My Document and My Computer using Samurize. Other drivers and folder, I can do it using meter linkage, but this two thing can't. Even I make shortcut for both and link it using meter linkage, still not working. Any advice?

I've been mean to do that but somehow I can't open Samurize website. It has something to do with the WiFi connection and problem with the ISP here (there are few other normal site I can't open for unknown reason).

Just a slightest hint would help.. tongue.gif

Samurize can almost do anything since it support of various languages of external scripts. But too bad I donno those langauges (I know PHP, but I can't get the server running correctly on my PC).

For example, i create a Text, which can link to My Pictures when i click on it. Then a specific wav file plays when i click on that link to open My Pictures.

i got a problem. Everytime i click on Show Desktop everything in samurize dissapear. I have the position set to 'Normal Windows Behaviour'. anyone having the same problem?

hmm... i usually dont press 'show desktop'... show desktop means to hide every application that is running and show your original desktop... correct me if im wrong.. smile.gif

i guess you're right. samurize is an application too...perhaps i have to set 'Pin to desktop' then, but i just hate the screen will seem like refresh when i click Show Desktop.

Got some trouble here. I have created a text shortcut using Samurize. The thing is sometimes the configs doesn't respond when I click at it. Sometimes, I even have to click few times (10 times at most) just before it worked. Anyone know what's wrong here?

it will only work when you really click on the word.. what i mean for example you click the center of alphabate 'O' then nothing will happen... this is what i experience before... smile.gif

Using text as shortcut is a pain work, cuz you need to CLICK-THE-TEXT. Why don't you put 2 layers ? Text later at the buttom while another layer above, like this:

You put a Text-Object, set it to image, direct the image to a blank image (for example create a blank.png) ... then use the image layer as link instead.

This is what I do all the time ... btw:

i forgot the sauce of my meters... maybe from Vista Sidebar package, its a clockface but i modded with numbers a bit.

for the docks..it is all autohide along with the menu bar...(it is just for showing u guys...)

somebody did asked me about my configs. i can give it to him but how? copy the whole skins and config files and send it thru email...i dont have a file hosting site

package files are normally .sam files. If you're using the latest samurize (1.64.3), you can just double click the .sam file, it will automatically export as a config file.

anyone here knows what's the meter linkage to close a program? i'm planning to place an icon in my config which when i click on it, it will automatically close a running foobar2000. Any help is greatly appreciated.

just take somebody's samurize config in the webbie. choose a simple one. then take the meter and change it to ur own...use photoshop to create a meter face or sidebars... u know what to do from there..but u must download the plugin pak for ur own good

Basiclly the Samurize interface is similiar with visual basic in term of OBJECT and OBJECT tweaking. So basiclly you put an object or background, which I usually make the whole wallpaper with buttons, etc on the wallpaper. THen simply in Samurize, I put the wallpaper as background adn then add in buttons, meters, etc.

But one problem about sharing config. Is there any easy way to adjust the shortcut link's directory? Means, I am using D drive as system drive, so much of the programe located at D instead of C. When my friend waht to use my config, they have to change all D to C...

So any easy way to solve that?

im kinda new to samurize..
i did some config, but later i found out the client causes my idle cpu usage to increase within range 11-15% sometimes up to 20% .. when i close the client, my cpu usage drop to 0-5% .. is that normal or something is wrong with my config?

and is it possible to make it display the graphic card temperature and clock?? coz i cant find anythings related to graphic card....

hi,

in order to control foobar2000 using samurize you will need AMPI(Advanced Media Player Info)plugin. it looks complicated to setup at first but once you get used to it you will find it pretty simple. you can refer to my personal samurize config called 'foosbar' which i made to control foobar on my Windows to see the basic stuff such as display artist and track name. However, i use another plugin 'AudioPlayer' to control my foobar2000.

you can see the screenshot of my desktop here.

by the way, your fancy stuff are taking quite amount of resources (50%) there. Won't your games that also require high memory usage like Call of Duty 4 suffer lag?

Note: Download Link from MediaFire, i find lowyat doesnt allow any file extension other than .jpg to be attached. sweat.gif

after the trial and error and refer to another config by samurize, i manage to set the control for ply, stop, pause, next and prev, but i cant make the album, track name, and track time, the time plyed and so on.....

which resources did u mean?? RAM or processor load?? RAM is like that one, i take that screenshot that time is becoz i on many other program, but when i login to my window already like this, 40% of the RAM hv already been eat away but i still dont know wat's the problem, even without samurize, plying game hv a bit lag, not to mention i'm not using good graphic card, just a 7300GS.....

Animations on Samurize interface cause alot of problem due to short refresh rate. Eventually it wil eat up to 20% of your CPU.

If you don't want to use any default dektop icon (will say why later), you can put those animation images as a desktop web objects instead (under Desktop Properties). But doing so will cause desktop icon lost it's ability to use 'icon shadow' instead of the default 'icon box'.

Be creative of how to use the web objects together with Samurize and you'll get your desktop blig around tongue.gif

Or course, with web objects you also can place a movie, song whatever on your desktop that whatever a webpage can run...

i'm not the type of creative lar, my creativity r sucks!!! and i wanna remove the .gif animation soon coz it is eating my processor load....

now i know how to set samurize to display track name, i use the AMPI, and set it to gettrackname but when i press the test function and even reload the samurize, it didnt display any song name sad.gif help!!!! cry.gif my head wanna explode already.......

My current Samurize eat me 10% of CPU... sometime it gone unstable... and also it might clash with certain games like Stalker (keep flashing to desktop)...

y his config so strange one?? his ply pause stop next button r not same as mine, he add text as shortcut and the play icon as background pic, i hv try to learn from his player control, but it still doesnt work, and it still cant display the song name and artist and other things properly, i can only press ply stop next previous and so on only!!!!!! i need help ASAP!!!!! even i click the right click > media > add foobar then the plugin comes out but it say no song playing!!!! but actually my foobar is plying songs..... my foobar version is v0.9.5 any problem???? cry.gif

i add text as shortcut because with that way only i can link meter to control player (next,previous,stop,play), the icon is to act like a button which seems like i click on that icon to control player, but actually, it is the text that does the trick.

right click>media>foobar2000 will not work, im not sure what is the problem, but it doesnt work. also note that i am using AudioPlayer.dll plugin to control my player to play,stop,next,previous.

if your install foobar2000 after installing samurize, then the AMPI will not work, you have to reinstall Samurize to get it working.

it is still very hard for me even though i know how to make some of the basic config and meter, sometimes when u force urself to do it when u're not in the mood, will might cause u headache shakehead.gif think until ur brain gt exploded u also cant think about wat to do.....

hey guys,

so i've got the weather plugin to work. i tried to change DefaultLocationID to MYXX0008, save and exit. it changes itself back to 90210 everytime i reload the config. is there anything else that i'm missing here?

I am learning samurize, so have a question here. blush.gif

I am setting up the plugin to show track playing on foobar.
So, I went to
Add Meter -> Plugin -> AdvancedMediaPlayerInfo.dll

At the Source tab, I selected GetTrackName function and I tested the function and it showed up correctly.

The problem is when I save and reload the config, the line keep showing 0. sad.gif

At first I suspect it is cause by chinese character but when I try with english song, it still the same.

Can anyone help me ? icon_question.gif

Hi dude, can i get my hands on ur homemade config ? Cz im totally a newbie in this samurize thingy. Searched for days for premade configs but non caught my attention. You must run winamp in order to make Samurize retrieve data from it. Yes it is possible to make a volumn control with samurize.

On the media plugn that you use to make play pause next rewind buttons, also contained an option for volumn. I'm not quite remember how I did that, quite a long time ago.

I simply make a bar and I can pull the bar left and right to adjust volumn, as well as the 'seek' bar!

Any brother here can enlight him? I'd been long time no use Samurize, forgot already =p

make sure you have foo_info_samurize.dll in foobar2000\components

if not, reinstall samurize, select media plugins (under extra)

it should work after that..
