Check if you've enabled "hide when another app is fullscreen" under "position"... That blacked out my full screen Winamp Vis... Maybe it screwed video acceleration... and still no solution for me. I really hope someone else here do have some solution to this... 
But keep in mind I'm using Vista, Your Mileage May Very...
It's fun trying to make Samurize run with admin rights (so that all the sensors would work) under Vista though... Seems that even the Samurize people are still puzzled about how to go about doing it, last I checked anyway...
I'm more of a minimalist, so a basic text + colour bar performance monitor config for me, plus calendar (ah, 2MB memory use, take that Vista Sidebar!)... Haven't gone around to graphic'izing my configs yet...
