No worries. I'm a nub too. When I went for Portraiture workshop there's a lot of NEX-5 users with kit lens. They'll usually bring some lenses along for you to test ( and be poisoned =D ) The point for these workshops is to learn.

I have yet to see them change location. However usually they'll send in a reminder sms with details a couple days prior to event. I'll be going for the low-light too. Just recently gotten my new NEX after I sold of my previous one.

Alright. i already register for the composition and low light course. but i found it strange, when i login, it state "session full". so i went to the link i provide, click register and i'm able to do so. Sony sent me an email as well as for the course details.
so i'm counted as registered?

I don't want to go there and kena system error bla bla bla. i think it will takes me 1 n half hr to reach the curve. sad.gif

Err.. You could call them up to be sure. But in my experience they have never crosscheck attendees nor bar entrance to anyone.

Hi.. User lists have been updated. thumbup.gif

Happie!! rclxm9.gif , got back my NEX-6 from Sony Warranty after 7 working days. The self destructed flash now works again. They changed the board, capacitor and flash unit. Thanks Sony for the prompt service.

may I know what sort of setting you all use for the contrast, saturation and sharpness on Nex6, I would like to tweak further the image quality. Or should i set both hdr and dro to off?
*
HDR off.. unless for special situations , I kinda leave DRO On. saturation +1, contrast 0 , sharpness 0 .

Any idea whether the NEX5R will drop in terms of pricing due to the release of NEX 5T?

Finally! Just got myself a Nex 5R with SEL1650. rclxms.gif Got this to complement my alpha 550 + tamron 1750 + sal50f18 + F58 as I want some mobility instead of lugging bulky camera equipment everywhere.

I still love my a550 especially together with the f58 flash.

My question is, if I want to utilize the f1.8, is it better for me to buy a EA-la1 adapter (to fit the sal50f18) or just buy a SEL50f18?

With EA-LA1, autofocus should work on my sal50f18 (but not my tamron 1750) because it has SAM right? hmm.gif

Note : Anybody knows where I can get cheap cheap EA-LA1? (Preferably 2nd hand) biggrin.gif

A3000 in stores @ Midvalley .. RM1299 only + SEL1855 .

+ The body built quality, buttons and feel is good.
+ Can reuse E-mount lenses directly, and NEX battery.
+ Autofocus is fast, at least as fast or faster than NEX.
+ Has new MI hotshoe.

- Screen and EVF is blurry and not as nice as NEX. Need to stretch your finger from the shutter button to press another button to toggle between EVF and the screen.
- Lack of buttons.
- Abit heavier than expected. the Canon 100D feels lighter.
- Fixed Screen.

Overall, it should work well as a basic backup to our Nex.

You have existing A-mount lenses, therefore get the LA-EA2 adapter. I just don't like that protruding hump sad.gif . I suspect your A-mount Tamron 1750 should AF as usual on it.

SEL50f1.8 is excellent, I have it on almost 80% of the time for Cosplay shoots. The downside is the slower AF and it's not a Macro lens.

In event halls, 50mm will force me to stand further away for a full body shot. The problem is.. many other photographers with shorter focal lengths will block me (stand in between) and I will have a hard time getting a clean pic. Oh well... I sometimes think the 35mm is better in this respect.

It should be but will be at the retail price. Not sure how much is it though.

Call up sony stores and see? Shashinki sells them at a very expensive price though.
