Anyone knows where to buy the Sony BC-VW1 quick charger and how much is it? I've asked a few shops and most of them no stock.

In terms of usage, is it user friendly? I have 2 batteries, so sometimes, I want to charge one in the camera and another using this charger. Is it a good buy accessories?

There are two rings. One for focus, another for aperture. It's a tautology

Did that already. The exact message when I go to AF/MF select is actually "Invalid because lens not attached. Attach the lens correctly." I turn the focus ring also no respond.

What lens are you using? 16-50? Can you show what kind of adapter are you using? Powered / non-powered?

Ya, 16-50. No we're just talking about extension tubes, no adapter.

I think I dun want extension tubes edi, go straight for macro lens. Can Sony SEL30M35 (30mm macro lens) work with NEX 3N body? Auto and Manual focus can work? Without any adapter whatsoever.

Oh.. now i roughly get what you are trying to do. You are trying to convert the Kit PowerZoom lens into a Macro lens. If there's no electronic contacts on the extension tube, I doubt SELP1650 can be zoomed or focused.

Instead, you may try to attach the kit SELP1650 lens directly to the NEX body, and then set it to F8.0 which should be it's sharpest aperture. WITHOUT TURNING OFF the NEX cam, detach the SELP1650. It should remain open and zoomed out. Then power off the NEX, attach the extension tube and lens and try. I guess the Menu >setup>release w/o lens should be enabled

Otherwise, if you can find it.. get the KENKO brand of extension tubes for NEX. This one seems to have the pins which will electronically connect the lens to the body via extension tube.

I'd rather try finding a prime lens with aperture and focus rings for this though.

what is the major difference for 3,5,6,7?

so far i know A7 is full frame... impossible to buy.
NEX 6-7 have EVF...

and what is the average battery life time for nex camera?

and what class memory card is sufficient for a casual shooter and video shooter?

and pro and con for EVF on a body?

thank you very much, i still digesting the info that NEX series number thingy...very blur.

Not impossible, just whether are you willing to spend and budget. A ladies handbag can already be RM3k.. (hide, i may get shot from the girls)

Yes, NEX battery life is not as good as the mirror DSLR. probably 400+ shots. If battery life is your concern then use a manual focus lens, the battery lasts noticeably longer. I think most of us carry one or 2 spares. 2 batts can last me a whole day for 900+ shots, so don't worry about the battery life which can be easily solved by carrying the spare batt.

Minimum class 4.

EVF pro. Cheating abit.. because you can nearly see the results before u press the shutter. All effects and screen info is available on the EVF screen. In bright sunlight, the screen can't see much, I feel i'm shooting blindly. With EVF, I can see clearly even though it's mid afternoon.

EVF Cons. In low light, the EVF of NEX-6 will have alot of dancing maroon pixels.. abit like the old TV without tuning, u see dancing noises which maybe hard to focus. Can see alot of this when trying to shoot the night sky, focusing infintiy and setting 40 seconds exposure time.

EVF on a body?? No Cons as far as i am concerned!! Even the Panasonic GX-7 EVF can tilt up. We also have some Sony FDA-EV1S Electronic Viewfinder, can plug to some NEX-5 models and tilt upwards too. If i had problems with a viewfinder, it was the one that is at the center, because your nose will keep rubbing the screen.

Yea.. Don't know why Sony wanna mix up their model numbers like the A3000 with an E-mount without the NEX moniker. I guess they want everything to be recognized as Alpha A-mount or Alpha E-mount. They also have another mount called PL mount for CineAlta.

haha.. 3 is lower end 3 series BMW, 5 is the bigger 5 series BMW. 6,7 and A7 are the BMW M series haha.

Not a smart move to compare NEX and A-mount cams.

The battery they use is already different to begin with.

Pretty obvious that when one uses video more, battery juice will decrease faster. The sensor is transmitting data, processor is running, data is being sent to memory card etc.
