The shots look really good! How loud was the shutter sound ? So far from the videos I've seen it seems to be really loud. I'm scared it might affect things if I wanna do street photography.

The shutter sound is louder than my NEX-5R, not good for street photography.
Let's hope Sony improve on this on the final product.

nice quality and resembled the RX1 shots. even with AA filter, i can still see some aliasing and moire on the hair, Sony does seem to design the a7 strongly based on RX1, or the lens is just as good as the one on RX1 albeit different folcal length. curious about the 35mm f2.8. hmm.gif
*
Actually the Alpha 7R with 35mm F2.8 lens is in the workshop as well, but I didn't get my hands on it.
I would suggest you to go for Sony workshops to try it out.

How about weight and size compare to your 5R?
Of course I know it's bigger and heavier but overall what is your feeling?
Thanks

The explanations given on this forum aren't detailed enough.

25cm in this case is the Minimum Focus Distance (MFD), which changes with different lenses.

MFD is measured from the sensor to the object. See this image:

http://www.google.com/imgres?client=firefo...=32&tx=59&ty=97

Working Distance is a different measurement, from the front of the lens to the subject. This is of course less than 25cm after you subtract the sensor to lens mount (18mm) and lens length.

Now we're talking abt Physics eh biggrin.gif Anyway, thanks for the info smile.gif

What do you mean by overlapping?

Btw the md/af 70-210 is it maxxum? If so I believe the mount is different..

Handling is pretty good, better than NEX-6 at least, I was able to shot with one hand.

The one thing I don't like is the shutter button, there's no feedback.
I had no idea was I doing half press or full press, cause they feel the same. doh.gif

same with RX1, but RX1 is not so much a problem cause when half press the focus mechanism felt like robot working and can be felt with hands easily lol.

50/1.4 and 135/2.8 would still be ok.
I'd skip the manual focus zooms on the NEX if I were you. Your current kit lens will serve you well for wide to mid range zoom.

By the way, you do know that you'll be losing all auto focus functions with these lenses, don't you?

Or you can invest a LA-EA2 adapter and get an AF zoom like Minolta AF 100-300 APO (D) which is quite good for the autofocus. this will open up more autofocus lens choices with Minolta AF and Sony Alpha lenses.

My curiosity is piqued to see people use the term "invest" on just about every instance. Why is that? Not everybody is expecting an ROI here, however they all use a camera.

i have one, but a selfie.
haven't test much.

this is the first time i bought an extra lens other than kit lens. so far the results are positive.
if i like this lens enough i might sell my kit lens since i'm not really a kind of person that like to change lens.
