Hey, share la which model... So quick to throw your once beloved 1080p TV under the bus..

It's all about the upscaling engine. Congrats
i play mostly good hd material.
been replacing 720p collection with 1080p or bdmv.
stopped watching sd totally, collection of DVD's gathering dust.
even on hypptv, i watch only the hd 1080i channels.
4k UHD is very good for hd material - yes, the upscaling is obvious. it's like watching new and better stuff.
but perhaps as an old lcd (my was 7 yrs) gets older, it loses color and clarity too - that may be another reason. so, if yr tv is old and tired, time to junk, get new!
i spent time checking sharp, samsung and lg.
as a loyal customer of sharp, i bought sharp again:
lc50ue630x
lc58ue630x
took the 50" for now. in a few years, will go for bigger when 4k becomes norm and 8k upscaling gets into the market. sharp just launched 8k.

sounds interesting... in fact,, I felt HYPPTV is much better than astro's HD stuff these days... correct me if I am wrong...
u mean the contents or the quality is better? i find the hd quality good (i hv the old first gen non-android stb). content wise, i only watch natgeo people, travel, bbc earth, iconcerts and red hbo - enough as i have a lot more other things to watch!
