Well if it's true 8.1 would be good for me. The FB integration thing.. I rarely use it anyway. So it's not something that i'll miss if it's gone or anything.
I would say it's heading to the right direction, if almost all RT apps supports that means more apps for WP.
but fb chat integration sure makes me easy, no need to pin another apps to homescreen, straight away go into message inbox... the lack of photo attachment is one problem... but not a big one.. can still live with it....
Stickers, rarely use it....almost none.... but then, the frequent fb update sure makes integration halted, but this is microsoft slow action to counter that... hahahahaha
anything else is good...
pluse updating/uploading picture using people hub is a lot faster than fb apps, either official or beta, bot are problematic... always have trouble uploading it...
I see the fb integration as a plus for WP8 (even counting that it's not working half the time), so taking it away would be a set back, especially all we had was the lacklustre fb app. If removing fb integration in photos AND People (update etc)? A big fail, and all the more reasons for people to abandon the platform.
couldnt microsoft just improve the people hub integration? they dont call it "people hub" if it cannot work with fb, twitter, insta etc... mayb not hv all the dedicated apps features, but at least essential feat should be integrated into people hub
Regarding to the fb integration, i don't use the integrated notifications, news feed, pics and messages anymore. I use the fb app, which is now much much improved, for all those tasks. However, i do find the contact integration very useful, like when i add an number, i don't have to create a contact, just add the number to the existing fb friend. And it sync the profile pic and what not.
Maybe they are removing thefb account on the phone, because it would redundant to link the fb account to ur microsoft account via PC.

Yeah.. but imo this feature is what differentiate from other OS. I can easily go into their feeds without even have to open a seperate app, and all their latest info/pic updated instantly. The linking between contacts to social media account feature is a bonus.

Yah, i doubt microsoft will drop such a key feature. I think they will be looking to having a more unified integration and linking of fb acc i.e. not having to set-up the fb acc to each device, instead linking direct to the Microsoft account. Hopefully that's the explaination. The other features can be omitted since the fb dedicated app is pretty good now.
You guys got it wrong about Microsoft dropping FB integration for WP8.1.
It IS dropped as an OS LEVEL FEATURE. Because when it is on that level, upgrading and fixing it takes more effort and certification.
What IS happening (from what I can tell from the docs) is that the People Hub's FEED can now be updated by apps as well, previously apps can only add contacts to your People Hub, you can see this when you have Skype installed and your Skype contacts show up in the People Hub.
This will allow better and quicker updates to fix any problems than before. It'll also open up the People Hub to be extended by other apps say.. *cough* G+ *cough*

It's actually a better approach, since social network would be updated according to their own pace. The FB intergration in WP7.x/8 doesn't work some time IMO.
But this is what I read from the SDK docs:
QUOTE
Users can no longer broadcast share to multiple networks. Users of Twitter, Facebook, Sina Weibo, and LinkedIn must use apps for these social networks to compose, post, and update. Facebook Blue is built into Windows Phone (code-named “Blue”).
