I don't always receive push notifications for fb msg(the new facebook app). But when i do, and i click on it, it absorbs the message. I don't know whether the notification is really really late or it actually absorbed the message. I cannot find the message using the PC also.
The app is miles better than the original fb app for winphone, but it's still volatile, it doesn't refreshes the notification and message immediately, and it hanged my phone as well.

QUOTE(Optiplex330 @ Oct 22 2013, 09:40 AM) If you have activated HERE DRIVE doing navigation, all smartphone's battery should be flat in 3 or 4 hours. No way it only drop by merely 15% I didn't even run the app. It is just "allowed" to run in the background. I'm trying to figure out which one of these apps is the culprit. I have already blocked Here Drive for now.

QUOTE(maxizanc @ Nov 23 2013, 06:47 PM) good questions. I also would like to know. I only downloaded app called "translator" which will translate to language that u set from your speech. I mean use the speech UI (don't really know what to call it) that you use to call, text, open apps etc, but instead perform app-specific actions. If you have an app installed which is capable of doing that, you can see the supported actions by pressing and holding the start button, pressed the [?] button on the popup, and swipe to apps.

QUOTE(dgboy @ Jan 2 2014, 07:45 PM) DG prepaid user can charge app purchase to their credit balance. I suppose that's only for local apps? Anyone tried it?. I didn't link any cards to my Microsoft account, so the default payment now is charging my Digi account. I clicked on the buy option for few paid apps, looks like can use for any app, not just local. Haven't tried it though. UPDATE: I tried to buy an app, but it asks me to turn on my data connection. This post has been edited by Zeuss1220: Jan 3 2014, 12:28 AM

Updated my 925 yesterday. And also I have tried purchasing an app via Digi prepaid. For some reason, you need to have the data on when purchasing the app while the download itself can be done via WiFi of course. Confirmation of purchase email will be sent in a matter of seconds after purchasing. Personally, I think this is a useful way to buy apps, however, I don't have a postpaid data plan, instead I subscribe to daily plans on days I don't have access to Wifi, which is not very often. So the fact I have to have my data on when purchasing is a little inconvenient, especially when the pay-per-use data is ridiculously expensive on Digi, which leaves me with the daily plan which is RM3. App that I bought was a game called Rayman's Jungle Run. I played Rayman games on PC and PS1/2 during my childhood which were superb, and this game does not disappoint. I like playing platformers so I am easily drawn to this game. Not only the gameplay, the game was developed extremely well by Ubisoft. Not the usual ported game with long loading times, this app is quick, which makes it even more addictive. I hope other developers like Gameloft learn from Ubisoft. Recommended if you like running based sidescrollers. Satisfied with my first paid app. This post has been edited by Zeuss1220: Jan 19 2014, 06:15 PM

QUOTE(Boldnut @ Jan 23 2014, 02:01 PM) WP8 already pwned Android. http://www.windowsphone.com/en-sg/store/ap...7b-b897bff25a2cAndroid = pull down + tap to enable/disable. WP8 = After u pin the above shortcut to startscreen = tap + slide to enable/disable. but the huge diff is. I got a full list of wifi to pick here as well. Android? I have to dig into setting to change wifi network lol But WP8 need to go the the start screen before u can access the shortcut. Android drawer available at all screens. Either WP8 should have quick access to shortcuts from all screens, or tap the tile on the start screen to on/off wifi, but then you won't get to see the list of networks.

QUOTE(Boldnut @ Jan 28 2014, 09:38 AM) usually u turn off ur wifi/gps when u finish ur app browsing = which usually u are at home/start screen. Whats the point of turning off wifi/gps in the middle of app? and if u are turning on wifi/gps to use app, u turn it on first. whats the point of opening apps first then only go online? its like opening waze.... then oops I gonna on wifi later. I know I am going to use waze, & I see my wifi is OFF, why should I open waze first, not wifi? lol jeez android people trying to find bones in an egg. It's a matter of convenience, I find it useful to have constant access to shortcuts. Like, sometimes when I'm in game, I want to turn off Wifi, I prefer not to go back to start screen and then go to the Wifi setting via shortcut then turn it off. That's 3 actions. 2 or less would be convenient. Also most of the time I need to turn on/off Wifi is when I'm in an app and didnt realize its off/on.

Regarding to the fb integration, i don't use the integrated notifications, news feed, pics and messages anymore. I use the fb app, which is now much much improved, for all those tasks. However, i do find the contact integration very useful, like when i add an number, i don't have to create a contact, just add the number to the existing fb friend. And it sync the profile pic and what not.
Maybe they are removing thefb account on the phone, because it would redundant to link the fb account to ur microsoft account via PC.

QUOTE(futra @ Feb 12 2014, 05:33 PM) Yeah.. but imo this feature is what differentiate from other OS. I can easily go into their feeds without even have to open a seperate app, and all their latest info/pic updated instantly. The linking between contacts to social media account feature is a bonus. Yah, i doubt microsoft will drop such a key feature. I think they will be looking to having a more unified integration and linking of fb acc i.e. not having to set-up the fb acc to each device, instead linking direct to the Microsoft account. Hopefully that's the explaination. The other features can be omitted since the fb dedicated app is pretty good now.

Windows Phone 8.1 looks good. But could do without the lame convo with Cortana in the demo video. I'm talking about the "Tell me a joke", "I love you" nonsense

Yah, I wonder what's the "other" part in the storage. System, Temporary data, app data are all already accounted for.

Happening since I could remember. I'm using 925. Anyone face similar problem?
