QUOTE(Bizmind @ Feb 8 2010, 05:32 PM)
I will come all the way from Sarawak to "lapor diri" at:

Auditorium
Jabatan Perdana Menteri
Kompleks B
PUTRAJAYA

I do not know where is that. I do not have place to live.
The sad thing is that, when I ask the person in charge about place to live
for "oversea" people like me, they said, "Maaf encik, hal tempat tinggal
kena urus sendiri."
Then I ask again, "Ada siapa2 yang boleh saya rujuk untuk dapatkan tempat tinggal?"
The reply was, "Tiada".

I was just about to say, "Ada tandas untuk saya guna sebagai rumah sementara?"
(But I manage to control my temper).

Guys!!! Who will be in the same boat as mine.
Please please please. We must stand together!
Bersatu kita teguh! Bercerai kita roboh!

So this is my number:

016-848-6136

The rest, please share your number.
At least we can contact and go out minum2 together.
If only you guys are willing to make a great team together lah.
Hehe..

Looking forward to get new numbers from you guys.

And...

MEET YOU THERE.

p.s. I haven't done anything about the preparation because too busy at office.
Now I need to rush all these projects to completion and proper hand over.  mad.gif

Nice all. Happy Valentine's Day and Chinese New Year. smile.gif.
Whatever it is in front of us, there will always be room for improvement.
As long as we live, problem will help us to grow.
Hehe. 3 more days and we will meet up and at least have a drink together.

Is it true by becoming a PTD u cannot choose any ministries or agencies that you would like to work with? Based on your experience is it possible for a PTD to join a part time Master program?

Of course U can choose. Whether U get what U chose is another matter. biggrin.gif

All govt servants are entitled to further their studies at least once during their service. Programs depends on Ur level & qualifications. & U can go for full time course.

It's possible. But normally they will wait for U to report for duty first.

Bizmind: We dont know yet. But they mentioned the earliest possible, we will know where we'll be posted at sometime this week (means around Monday to Friday). I hope it is around that time..things are hard for us from East Malaysia. Currently we are applying for rumah transit..hopefully they will grant our application. smile.gif

Yeah..we hope we'll be posted around putrajaya or KL..or back to East Malaysia (if they send us back home, we'll get extra - elaun wilayah! ^^) rclxms.gif

To Slickdeals: I dont know how do they get Foreign Affairs ministry..or neither I know why do they have to stay up till nine pm..but from what I have heard, those ten lucky people were JPA's overseas scholarship awardee. Envy them..but feel happy for these lucky ppl! rclxms.gif

I hope Mr. Tenno can answer this doubt: I have a friend whose sister is a PTD working in Kedah. She mentioned that for us - PTD cadet from JPA intake are the "unlucky" ones because we are prone to bully and after two years "expiring date" of contract, there is a low chance for us to get absorbed into the service because the rumour was that "It is not fair for those who have to go through with all the tests and exams compared to the "easy" route offered to JPA scholars." Is this true?

I hope this is just a rumour..because from what we have been informed by one senior PTD member during the talk last week, regardless we are JPA or SPA, we'll be evaluated via performance..and not personal preference from our supervisor.

If Ur referring to Govt quarters, then Ur statement might not be so accurate. But then again, just go to Bahagian Pengurusan Hartanah in JPM, ask around la. The rental is not RM200, in fact, there's no rental at all. U just pay the bills, & they will deduct Ur housing allowance.

Hmm.. how am I gonna answer this hmm.gif

It's no secret that some, if not most of the non-contract PTD officer have expressed displeasure about the way some of the new contract officers are being hired. Reason being, they had to go thru 3 stages of interview process, some had to take the exam 5-6 times, maybe more. Even I had to go for interview twice. & now, the JPA simply pick their scholars & walk them right into the system. Even for us, there's been question about our lack of experience la, no knowledge la, itu la, ini la.. how do U think the new contract officers would fare ? Some of us have got good grades too, some are even masters holders. Why weren't we selected that way ? This is the govt, of course ppl will talk. Ppl have been talking about using cable la, sedara mara la.... now this is a fibre optic cable we're talking about here...

Having said that, I would say, the new contract officers, especially from JPA, have a LOT to prove. Being in MOF, I understand the reason the govt decided to open up the intake process that way. But believe me, we didn't see it coming, not from JPA. From SPA yes, but not from JPA. As for them not being in favour of senior officers, even some of us had to go thru that experience. We are working with ppl, not machines. Just imagine working under somebody, who's relative have had to go thru PTD exam 10 times, PAC 4 times, interview twice, but still not making it thru, & now here U are... We are all just human. Prove Urselves. Other ppl's weakness is not our strength. Some of the contract officers are good, some are not. I've seen it myself.

About the chances of being absorbed into permanent service, I've mentioned it many times before in this thread. Ade rezeki, then ade la. If not, then sorry la. It's Ur own choice, no one else's.

that is not entirely true.. tongue.gif about the amount of rent la..

u can apply for gov quarters but the waiting list is quite long.
for married pegawai can get house, single pegawai can get apartment.
the types of houses depends on pangkat.
the gov will cut your gaji from, thas is your 'imbuhan tetap perumahan' and half of your 'bantuan sara hidup'.

if u went back to your hometown, u r not entitled for elaun wilayah.
elaun wilayah:
1. ppl from the east malaysia (sabah, sarawaak, labuan) who work in semenanjung malaysia
2. ppl from semenanjung who work in east malaysia.
3. ppl from sabah who work in sarawak and vice-versa.

the amount of allowance is different though.
and if u are entitiled for 'elaun perumahan wilayah', u are not entitled for 'imbuhan tetap perumahan'.
btw, elaun wilayah will be much more than imbuhan perumahan.

as for the rumours, it's not true.
i've asked a fren in jpa and he told me everybody has an equal chance to be absorbed as a permanent officer.
that rumour is just a mentality thingy or the lack of it..
while u are in the 2 years 'probation period', u will be evaluated in many steps and IMHO, the best person will win la, loser will be booted out.. huhu..

Hmm..I see I see. Yeah..I believe Mr.Tenno is right. Yeah..People will ALWAYS talk. And yeah, we, JPA scholars..have A LOT to prove now. I do not think that those who are non-JPA scholars does not get good grades..some of them are even better than the JPA scholars. But still, don't let this bring all of us down. People will always talk, no matter what. Just listen..and bear no hard feelings. We have a lot to prove, not to anyone..but to ourselves. To all new JPA PTD intake..make this opportunity to learn more, for us to grow..into something better. Always ready to learn from the seniors..regardless what is their "pangkat". I think we can even learn from N17 or N23 colleagues even! Always be ready, emotionally and mentally. Ready to make mistakes..and learn from them. And always bear in mind, this is the opportunity for us to contribute back to our country..to our people..the government spent four years on us..some seven years..for us to grow and be better.

Wonder what Mr.Tenno said "If not then, sorry la. Its ur own choice. no one else". What choice was it? Do you mean choice to fail the exams is it? smile.gif
