How many of you guys have tried Netflix and Hulu on the chromecast? Quality is really good. Really love it smile.gif

Yeah, netflix is the reason why I got chromecast. Now I have the Sony Android TV, and can run netflix from there, so don't need the chrome cast anymore. Android TV's netflix also requires less "hacking" on the router for using unlocator. And the best thing with Android TV vs chromecast is, to pause, I don't need to find my phone, press power button, unlock, then pause. Just pick up the remote control and press Pause. hehe.

KDL-50W800C. Dont need the 4k, so get the cheaper one without 4k.

One thing chromecast still beats Android TV is the backdrop. This Android TV doesn't have backdrop support for the Google Photos.

Sorry guys. New to this.
I am going somewhere with no data service. If I were to download the movie in my phone, can I still cast it to chromecast using another phone's wifi (even though there is no data service there)?

The main interface is a bit laggy. But no lag in Netflix YouTube and play music. That's all that matters.

Hmm, I heard that you can only cast to your Chromecast if they are both connect to the same network, ie your home WiFi.

Problems is the Chromecast will be locked into 1 network on registration, ie the first time you connect.

Have not tried myself, its what I read from other forum.

Other sifu can elaborate.

Sorry to bring this old thread up.

If it is locked to the 1 network on registration, then cannot buy 2nd hand.
If buy 2nd hand, cannot register on my WiFi.

You can, but you need to reset the chromecast to use another WiFi.

U can't remember the steps, you can Google it.

If can reset and reconfigure again, then is ok. I thought once registered cannot register again.

Hi guys, I got a question,

As I'm away from home now and unable to test, I can only count on forum's help :')

So if I cast a show from my Mobile phone and connect a earpiece/bluetooth headset to my Mobile phone, will I be able to listen to whatever that's supposed to play on the TV?

Ultimately, I want to watch movie casted on my TV but listen through my earphone/bluetooth headset, while being a distance away from my TV. Thanks.

No you can't.. .. . but if you download from Google Play the app Local Cast then you can. Your video will be very much better than screen mirroring

Hi, audio wise is it possible? For the sound to be played from my mobile phone e.g. with earphone/bluetooth headset.

Yes, when you movie is playing there is a function "route audio to device". I have used it before, works fine with the headphone
