yeah you can rush out and catch the ball from your oponent's foot. but rarely will people use this because the D area is too small....

so people will just use their legs to block...

How short r U ? I'm standing at 175cm, about 5'9", my second keeper is just about my shoulder height. But he's very agile & athletic. Selangor's keeper last time, Sharizan was short too.

Cudicini was playing in goal for Chelski coz Cech haven't recovered from shoulder operation (on both shoulders). Cudicini was wearing Ulhsport Excel gloves, last season he always wear Uhlsport Absolutgrip Aqua.

Lehmann still uses Nike Vapor Grip 3, Paul Robinson was wearing the new T90 Gunn Cut. Antti Niemi switched from Uhlsport to Sells, & let in 5 goals.... Pepe Reina was using Adidas Response Pro.

Right now I'm undergoing trials for a new team, dunno which league they're playing next season. I've told them I can't play until June next year, but the coach still asked me to come. We had a friendly just now, in Stadium Raja Muda, against dunno what team, won 2-1. It was raining heavily, fortunately when it was my turn to play it has stopped raining, That was the first time I used my Lotto G-Force in the rain, & I'd say it performed very well indeed.

My current team have qualify for the semis in the KL League, but the bad news is that there might not be a team next season, so players are demoralized & very few turned up for games. Last Saturday, my third keeper had to play in defence, our striker was red-carded for quarreling with his own teammate, & I pulled one opponent striker down in the penalty box. Luckily we managed a draw.

hi, i'm a goalie since i first started playing footy 10 years ago but i have been playing a lot as outfield player lately and starting to loss my goalie spirit and skills sad.gif

oh, i'm short too, 170cm. i only played for my school and train all by myself, too bad there's not many dedicated goalie coach and when my teammates train, they like to play matches, so no one wants to train goalie with me sad.gif i had a short stint with Sabah FA training on sundays but had a session or two of goalie training and the rest are playing matches sad.gif as for now, i have a mate who is keen on training his shooting, so i get more chances now, yay!

anyway, i made a quick job on a userbar signature dedicated to goalies, i believe this is the first one biggrin.gif

If Ur gloves are torn between the fingers, I think it's very likely that the glove might be too small for U. Try a size bigger, maybe that'll help.

i was told that you should wear 1 size larger than the one that fits your hand exactly. it allows a little flexibility for the glove to absorb the spin of the ball. anyone mind to correct this?

No correction needed. Old school players always use 1 size bigger, more catching area, more latex. Kasey Keller wears at least 2 sizes bigger.
